- Q: 2007 Honda Accord EXL. Does this car have automatic door locks?
- They don't lock when you're driving/ put it in drive. As the driver you can lock all the doors by manually pushing the drivers lock down (with your arm or finger).
- Q: The recent incidents involving severe fires on TX4s raise questions about automatic door-locking on London black cabs. If I understand correctly, the doors automatically lock when the driver uses the accelerator and unlock when the brake is applied. I know that the The recent incidents involving severe fires on TX4s raises questions about automatic door-locking on London black cabs. If I understand correctly, the doors automatically lock when the driver uses the accelerator and unlock when the brake is applied. Since unlocking the doors requires action by the driver, doesn't this put the passenger at risk in such emergencies ? I know that TX4s have been taken out of service but the dangers of automatic door-locking still apply.
- Apparently it is a motion sensor (not the driver using the accelerator) that causes the doors to lock, and when the vehicle comes to a halt the doors unlock *unless* the driver presses the brake. LTI, the manufacturer of the TX4, has recently issued a statement: The door locking system on the London taxi works through motion sensors so that when the vehicle is in motion the locks in the passenger compartment operate to prevent the doors from being opened from inside the taxi. When the vehicle is not in motion the doors can be opened unless the driver depresses the brake pedal in which case the doors remain locked from the inside of the passenger compartment. In normal operating circumstances the rear passenger compartment door locking system is designed so that the door can be opened from the outside and overrides the vehicles motion locking system. In the event of a fire causing electrical failure the motion locking system would fail and would not engage the rear passenger door locking thus allowing the rear passengers to exit the vehicle. The passengers would also still be able to open or break the rear window and open the doors using the outside handle. In some circumstances, although this is not usual, a driver might engage the manual central door locking system. In this instance, a passenger is still able to disengage the central door locking by flipping the lever by the door handle clearly marked “unlock” and then is able to exit the vehicle in the same conditions as above.
- Q: "my garage door is frozen, it goes up & down MANUALLY but not on its own. I can hear the noise it makes but it just won't go up & down...any help? I live in Northern Michigan its been so cold!" in Yahoo! Answers
- didnt know cars had garage doors, but make sure the connecting thing with the red rope is connected to the metal piece it goes to.
- Q: With my car inside.I heard a crash earlier and I went outside. The latch that connects to the automatic part pully thing (tech term) was not connecting, the latch had come out, but I managed to get it back in.Now the cables on one side of the door are loose and not taut.It wont budge. What do I do with the cables?
- The main helper spring broke. The door itself without the spring is quite heavy. Without the spring help, the opener will never lift it. Your only option is to un-hook from the operator and ask a friend to help You lift it and prop it up with a VERY STURDY PROP... a 2x4 will work. Call a garage door service company in Your area. This is a DANGEROUS situation. Don't try it alone. It will come down with major force. I've heard of people getting their feet broken!!
- Q: What if your automatic door locks on both the front passenger and driver's side work only intermittently at best That's both with the remote and with the door button itself Can you fix this? 2001 Ford F150 supercrew
- Sounds like its the actuators in the door itself....it's an elecrical part and commonly goes out on some vehicles....I know neons have a huge issue with them, at least in my experience. Your biggest problem is, they are for the most part a dealer item only. Easy to install though. Hope this helped.
- Q: Automatic door how to open and then enter, and so close the door and then open?
- It should be to receive the signal after the re-timing, sensor detection signal or other open signal control time relay opening and closing, time relay control door to open the door to keep it.
- Q: how can i disable my automatic locking doors on a 1994 honda prelude si? if anyone could help would be greatly appreciated.
- easy take apart your door panels and disable the switch that connects to the wires be prepared to spend like 15-20minutes if you don't know how you should get a haynes repair manual at your local auto zone or advanced auto parts store, any auto store really. look for your model and year. good luck =)
- Q: Where is the speed of the automatic door?
- LZ attention can basically be able to debug the national standards which are on the request is not the so-called "high-end machine can be"
- Q: i have a 2005 malibu classic.when put in gear the doors lock automatic, but they dint.same as when cut off?
- well like the other guy said its hard to under stand the question however most cars now days lock the doors when the drive or reverse gear is engaged or at 5 mph and above the doors usually unlock when you put the car in park some dont sometimes you have to unlock the doors with a switch. You should call the dealership to find out they can tell you how it should work.
- Q: I got the automatic garage door opener replaced a month ago. About a week ago the spring broke. I ended up removing the broken spring. At this point I have one spring working. The garage door still opens and closes automatically for me. What is the purpose of these springs and will the garage continue to open automatically if I don't fix the one spring?
- Depends on what type of springs you have. If you have tension springs (the long, stretchy, kind) the door will operate but it will try to twist in the tracks, eventually jamming the door. If you have torsion springs (the rolled up kind) it's another problem. Doors with two torsion springs will operate normally with only one spring but the second is there as a backup. If the springs are old, the one remaining operating spring may break under the new weight. I'd get it fixed if it was mine. You can replace the tension springs fairly easily but if they're torsion springs I'd have a professional do it.
