Q: the light on the power cable box is orange when the xbox is turned on does this mean the cable is broke or the console? thanks
you need to find out the error code and find a solution to it.
Q: Can anyone help? my pc wont turn on without them hooked up.
If you look very close the position for these connectors is written on the motherboard along side of the pins that they connect to in very small letters.
Q: or do I need to buy one?
No, the PS3 is a 3 prong outlet cable, and the PS2 is 2 prong. Also the end that plugs into the console is different for both. You can use a PC power cord for the PS3 if needed, the ends are the same.
Q: So my aunt gave me an old NES, but all she had was the system itself and a few games. She didn't have any of the wires. Luckily I found this retro game store near me and bought a few cables that I thought was all I needed (The power cable so it would actually turn on and the audio video cord) but apparently I need something else? I'm not quite sure.....Does my NES just not work? The red light comes on when ever I press the power button but there is no picture on the screen! Is there something I'm missing? Did I put something in wrong??? There is another spot in the back for another wire but I don't know what it is. Any help would be awesome.
Power cable? You mean AC Adaptor? Well, you need an NES AC adaptor and an NES RF Switch. The RF Switch is that little gray box with the coax screw on it. If your tv (or whatever you're plugging the console into) doesn't have the old analog plugs that a coax cable can screw in to, then I don't know of any other solution?
Q: I have a hp laptop from south asia. The adapter connects with the laptop and the power cable. The power cable has a 3 round pin plug which says 6A 240V~. On the hp adapter for the input it says: 100-240V~ 1.6A 5-60Hz. It also says Connect Only to Grounded outlets. Now I am in canada. All i know is that here they have 120 V in normal power plugs. Also they have 1 round and 2 rectangular pins to plug in the outlet.I bought this adapter which basically connects the 3 round pin plug into the adapter and the adapter has 3 canadian pins. The thing is that it says 250V 10A on the adapter. So I am not sure if it will hurt my laptop if I use it. I am a bit confused because Canada has 120V and the adapter accepts 250V. The HP adapter has a range from 100-240V. Will this be ok to use since the HP adapter will just convert the 120V into the proper output for the laptop or do I need one the expensice Voltage converters for the laptop?
yes it will be fine
Q: I installed a new Power supply after my old one stopped working. I bought a Thermaltake TR2 500W. I connected everything that needed to be connected but it would not turn on. Then i disconnected the 4pin cable that goes to the motherboard, and it turned on. But my monitor didn't detect anything so it just went into quot;sleep modequot;. So every time i connect the 4 pin PCI-E connection to the motherboard it just doesn't turn on. Please help
That okorder /... If you know the PSU is good then you will know the way you wired the motherboard's connections is wrong.
Q: I'm lost i cant find a hole in my ford c-max firewall to install my power cable for amp can someone help me as i am traveling this sat to France by car .
In most vehicles there are spare holes filled with rubber plugs. Pop one out with a screwdriver and make a hole in plug a little smaller than the size of the wire for a very tight fit. If it's a smaller size power wire, it can sometimes be run through the same grommet as the vehicles main harness. Be very careful not hurt the existing wire. I have seen people get careless and screw the harness up and it's not easy or cheap to fix. When doing this I usually use a stiff wire (a small diameter yet long screwdriver can work too) and slide it through the grommet. I then use electrical tape to secure the power wire to stiff wire and pull it through. Make sure your penetration point is still leak proof after doing this. You may need to use some silicone and or electrical tape to seal it up.
Q: recently i purchased an imac G4, it included everything)keyboard, speakers, mouse ect.) but, it didnt come with a powercable. i knew this when i bought it, but thought it was a standard connector,i was wrong, it is a 3 pronged connector, I have a cable that will fit, but it is only 2 prongs, (it's missing the ground pin) . i only can return this item in 4 days if there is a problem with it, i could buy a powercord, but i risk it not coming in time. Can i use my 2-pronged power cord just to test it's funcionality. (fans, chime etc.) without the computer catching on fire of any other type of failure.Chris
It's an ordinary 3-pin PC power cable. Any desktop, screen or printer should use one. If you don't have one, you should be able to easily find one for ?5.
Q: I'm trying to find out whether a laptop computer can be powered by an adapter via USB cable. Is it possible? Feasible? Available? Thanks!
Some lower-powered devices can be powered by USB. I believe a laptop would draw too much amperage to be powered by USB.
Q: SATA power connector? If so where can i buy one?
Probably, but most people just buy Molex to SATA power adapters. If you need more Molex 4 pin plugs, just buy some Y splitters. Any computer store worth a darn should have some of both in stock, even the chain ones.
