Q: The back window on my convertible got a hole put in it last winter, since then I've just been using tape to keep it together. I have a new plastic window complete with trim that will make a suitable replacement, I just need to know what kind of adhesive and how to apply it so that it stays put when the top is up and folds accordingly when the top goes down. I'd like to remove the old back window as well.
Does it look to be sewn in?
Q: Hi there,My apartment is getting so cold. Since I can feel the cold air coming in through the windows I decided to buy a plastic kit that may help me on this situation. When I read on the back it says that it can not be done on drywall (there are not frames around the windows just the draywall). Any suggestions? I would really appreciate it.
Cut your plastic to fit inside the opeing and use Blue masking tape to adhere to window. Taping to the drywall will cause bigger problems when removing.
Q: Their made of hard plastic and are privacy panels
Like privacy screen? We have that on one side of our deck. I've also seen what appears to be sheet plastic on entire porches and then they call it a Florida room. Of course I live in FL so that may have something to do with it.
Q: Does that thin plastic window covering people use during the winter really help any?
Thin covering may help a little. Of course it depends on the intensity of the cold. The thicker the plastic the better. Of course I would recommend you have a contractor assist you with winterizing your home, in the early fall.
Q: There is a tear in my drivers side window at the bottom where the plastic is covered by the fabric, but the fabric is coming lose and the tear is starting to show and open itself to elements. Also, this window zipper only closes and opens one way, going the other way the teeth will not connect, any ideas? Also, there is a larger 4-5 inch tear in my rear plastic window right under where the zipper releases the plastic from the fabric. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
They have replacement windows and doors at very affordable prices and will ship them to you.
Q: I have a 4quot; tear in the plastic drivers side window. Are there any adhesives or techniques to fix it?
None that will look nice. You could use a thick clear tape however it will look ghetto.
Q: for wranglar soft top windows
Plastic expands and contracts too much to have tint put on. It will wrinkle up. That goes for hard plastics (plexiglas type) also.
Q: replace car door windows with plastic windows.how much and where.
You really need to consult a glazier before doing that. I have a friend who did that on a Volks Wagon Beetle street dragster and he can't keep the windows clean for anything. Most autoglass in the US is DOT regulated to be tempered, so aside from the safety aspect, I'm not sure why you'd want to.
Q: My mom has plastic windows on the inside of the house. How do i take them off for the summer?
im not sure i know what you mean...explain and i'll try answer afterwards? sorry
Q: Ok i have a couple bonsai trees and some other assorted potted plants and i wanted to know if i put plastic sheets on the windows to keep the cold from affecting the plants if that would affect how much light the plants will get. And if it does affect it, by how much? Thx for any help i can get
Yes plastic will decrease the amount of light that penetrates the window. Most clear plastics are rated for how much light they let penetrate when new and as the plastic ages, it will let in less light. You may be able to find this information online if you know the type of plastic you are going to use. Try looking up light ratings or opacity for the plastic you have or ask where you plan to buy it. I can't remember the exact numbers, but clear to slightly opaque plastics usually decrease light by about 10-30%. Ten to fifteen percent should be okay for most sunny windows.
