- Q: Jeep Wrangler rear plastic windows?

- Q: Yo, i am a proud owner of a 1997 Jeep Wrangler. I was wondering if it is possible to tint the plastic windows using a self tint kit found at an auto store. Ive been looking for the answer online and can only find tutorials on how to use the tint on regular glass car windows. Someone please help me out before i buy the tint and try it myself and end up ruining my windows. thanks
- All other standard polyester films will fail on lastic because of out gassing of the plastic.
- Q: My windows seem to be extra drafty this year... It seems like one of them is open, but I can't find anything wrong with them. Anyhow, my heat is kicking on like every 15 minutes! - Try using the insulating strips first. I put these in my windows and it seem to help a lot. You just put them where the window hits the sill when it closes. If it doesn't help you can always add on the plastic. Also put insulating foam in your outlets and switch plates that are on an outside wall. These are dirt cheap and cut to fit right in the outlet.
- Q: i bought two white window blinds and then when i got home, i realized the color doesn't go with the color of my wall. black blinds would suit my wall better. so what kind of paint should i buy to color over the plastic surface of the blinds? thank you!
- If they're mini-blinds, don't bother trying to paint them. Yes, you can change the colour, by using spray paint that's made for plastics, but by the time you get enough paint on them to do that, you have enough that the blinds won't go up and down very well if at all and it will be hard to change the direction of the vanes. Unless you just want to put them on the window and never open them, paint isn't very successful on blinds.

- It doesn't go on the windows. It goes on the window trim or on the wall. Any dirt or grit will cause it to fall down, and you have to really press to make sure it is on well.
- Q: they are white and look dingy
- I have used a product called GOO Gone to remove the sticky residue left over from the plastic overlayment. I agree with the lady above have used Mean Green a lot and does a wonderful job . I have never used it on window, but have used it on patio furniture and on greases clothes. My Grandma also swear by vinegar and newspaper to clean a window to a perfect shine. After using Mean Green you will probably have to use something like Windex to get rid of the strike. Hope this helps
- Q: Can you use glass chalk on jeep windows (the plastic ones)?
- I am not sure if it would actually stick to the window or not but I would not advise using it even if it will work. Jeep plastic windows scratch very easily so it would probably damage the windows.

- mmmm....lets see. Is a hard surface denser than a sort surface? well,,,,,Since sound has a harder time passing thru a dense surface thus REFLECTING off of it.... I'm gonna say go with the hard surface;)
- Q: I have a plastic windshield that I want to tint, but have run into some problems. I tried getting a tint shop to place a film over it, but the surface was too curved. Is there another method that I can try? Is there any kind of spray or dye? Also, I would like mirror tint. Is that possible? The plastic can flex a little, so it has to be able to withstand that.I don't have to worry about whether or not the tint complies with the law. So, there are no restrictions.
- I just would check with a different tint shop. I ran into that issue with my rear window on my car. A few different shops said they couldn't do it because of the size and how curved it was. Bottomline they just didn't want to go through the hassle. I found a shop that was willing and it turned out great. As for the spray tint VHT does make a product called night shades. I've seen it used with mixed results. On something small like taillights it good. But for a a large window you might have issues with consistent coverage. The tint might look blotchy when your done. Once again I would just look at finding a different place to do the tinting for you.
