Double hung windows
have always been common in older homes, but recently, they have become a popular choice as replacement windows and for new residential projects. The greatest advantage of the double hung window design is that they fit into any decorating scheme from historic to traditional to contemporary. The steps of window construction:
Aluminum or PVC (UPVC) window is being made from Aluminum or UPVC profile, window accessories and glass.
To produce an Aluminum or PVC window you have to do the following steps:
Cut the profiles (Aluminum or uPVC Profile, reinforcement and Glazing bead)
Put reinforcement profile inside the uPVC profiles
Screw reinforcement profile into PVC profile
End mill the mullions
Open holes for door handles, sash fastener channels and espagnolette
Weld uPVC profile or Crimping Aluminum profile
Clean the welded corners of uPVC windows

- if we can make sex dolls from plastic I reckon making paper from plastic shouldn't be a problem.
- Q: Most of the windows in our home are pretty drafty. We've been putting up the thin, shrink with a hair dryer Duck plastic in our windows for winter to help with the drafts. I want to make some window quilts for this winter to help, but I'm not sure how to combine them with the plastic, or if we should just use them with out the plastic. Would it be more effective to plastic right around the window, inside of the frame, and then hang the quilt right on top of the plastic, or hang the quilt outside the frame, or just hang the quilt directly on the window with out the plastic?
- At the home improvement store there is weather stripping that can help. Also caulking the windows. I'd make the quilts to cover the window with a little fullness to cover the frame. Hope this is helpful..Roxanne

- soap and water is the best thing to use a very light detergent soap. do not use any kind of windex or something smiler as it will turn y our plastic brown. you can go and get some plastic cleaner and use but soap and water is just as good and allot cheaper.
- Q: I rent a townhouse that has very old windows.. LL will not replace them so im thinking of puttng plastic over the wndows.. we are not aloud to put plastic outside.,. - Alot of times the problem is the insulation around the window jamb. Remove the casing carefully and inspect the insulation. I suspect there is little or no insulation between the window and framework. Buy some spray foam and fill the void. Be care full not to get it on your hands. Replace the casing and check for drafts. If you still have drafts you can buy a window insulator kit. It comes with a light plastic film and double sided tape. Apply tape around casing and stretch film over as tight as you can without ripping the plastic. You can then use a blow dryer to shrink the plastic tight. This will allow you to still look out your window clearly. Your cost to fix each window should be around five bucks.
- Q: I have a Renault Clio authentique 1.2L and it has electric windows....there is a plastic clip attached to the back of the glass that i presume keeps the glass coming up and down at the right angle but it comes up really slowly and some times not at all....i think it has something to do either with the plastic clip or it needs more lubrication.....any help is appreciated. - im my bmw 740il my rear left window does the same i replaced the moter for the winmdow for cheap and it works fine now i hope its nuthing big but if u do not know what else to do go to auto zone of napa and ask one of the workers they will help out
- Q: ...even when washing it? And I live in San Diego, not like in TX where the cling probably would bake into the window. But the windows are tinted, so it would have to be on the outside. The cling is about 6quot; in diameter.
- I would think it may stick, but it would probably fall off due to the bumpiness of driving, plus when you wash it, it will make it fall off. If your windows are tinted, I wouldn't even mess with it because it may cause a discoloration, but I am not positive. I hope this helps you some! Btw, I love window clings too! :)

- Clear packing tape. Both sides. A couple of layers is good. Mine was cut about 3 years ago and when it starts to peel I just rip it off and do it again.

- One of the cheapest places to get it if you can do it yourself is at Lowe's. They sell a large variety of tint with different shades and performance for windows and doors you can custom cut. If you are trying to save energy, they have a heat reflective film that I believe is up to 90% heat reflexive. It is in transparent and mirrored coatings. If you plan on removing it, make sure you get the static cling style and you can remove it and reuse it against next season because there isn't any adhedsives left on the film or glass. Make sure you really wet the glass and film on installation. Good luck!

- Yes, but you have to use a certified type of plastic. It has to react in a certain way in a collision. It's also thinner and offers less sound insulation. This is why very few road-legal cars have plastic windows, save for stripped out exotic cars like the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, Ferrari F430 Scuderia, Aston Martin V8 Vantage N24, and I believe the Porsche 911 GT3 RS has some plastic windows.
- Q: ok i have a corvette 1986 convertible. The car isn't perfect but i love it. the main problem for me is the rear plastic window. It is brown and is not visible at all to the inside for the outside. I need to know if there is any product out there that can go beyond the cleaning of oxidation. i want the window clear again. And yes it has been left outside for about 5 years to face the elements but i was not the first owner so i presume that it has been outside longer. so the question comes down to how do make the window go from brown to clear without buying a new top.
- It is replaceable fairly cheap by an auto trim shop if it wont clean up. any good plastic cleaner applied carefully might do the trick but at that age i'm doubtful,,the car is worth if you have to replace it or call me and i'll buy the whole car!!
