Q: Just wanted to know.: Windows use Vinyl. Most bottles are made from PET.

Q: its like recycling plastic into paper use: Tyvek. it's random-laid, non-woven, almost impossible to tear, though you can cut it easily with a scissors or knife. If we could erase it easily, it would be a very good paper substitute.

Q: Is it ok to recycle these envelops with other white office paper? Or do they belong to the garbage bin?: I asked our recycling guy a year ago, and he said it's just fine to leave the windows in.

Q: The city requires me to separate paper and plastic into two different bins. I have been tearing the plastic windows out of envelopes (you know the kind you get from businesses) before sticking them into the paper bin. Do I even have to do this? And if I do, can I put the plastic window part I rip out into the plastic recycling bin?: most authorities in the UK have a quoter or lee way of non recyclables allowed into each category i.e. paper, plastic, compostables, tin, aluminium, glass, natural fabrics. In my council borough they will not empty if they see something within the contents of the bin that isn't within that separate category. In our local paper a lady had accidentally put the inner tube of a loo roll in her glass bin and they refused to take it and they also sent her a severe letter threating legal action if she did it again, she was 88 so i suppose she should have known better at her age! but anyway the more you separate the better for the environment. as for the plastic window i don't know but if you do find out can you tell me to.

Q: I have seen it done both ways.: Inside. You don't want moisture to get in as well as the cold. Make sure their is no gaps. Best to do it on a windy day so you can feel for drafts easier.

Q: I have tried chlorox and water and some parts turned pink. Help me somebody!: tilex mold mildew root remover and a grout brush, spray it on, let it set for 10 min, then scrub with the grout brush, rinse well. Make sure thast you have the doors windows open don't get it on fabrics or wood.

Q: I rent a townhouse that has very old windows.. LL will not replace them so im thinking of puttng plastic over the wndows.. we are not aloud to put plastic outside.,. Can anyone tell me..should it be thick plastic? should i staple it? or just tape? when i lay on my bed or couch i can feel the draft and the curtans move.. these wndows are terrible!! any help on the whole insulating thing would be great.. i hate having my heat on 78 just to be somewhat warm cause all the cold ar is still blowng in.. for some reason the heating vents are close to the wndows.. defeats the purpose if you ask me..: Alot of times the problem is the insulation around the window jamb. Remove the casing carefully and inspect the insulation. I suspect there is little or no insulation between the window and framework. Buy some spray foam and fill the void. Be care full not to get it on your hands. Replace the casing and check for drafts. If you still have drafts you can buy a window insulator kit. It comes with a light plastic film and double sided tape. Apply tape around casing and stretch film over as tight as you can without ripping the plastic. You can then use a blow dryer to shrink the plastic tight. This will allow you to still look out your window clearly. Your cost to fix each window should be around five bucks.

Q: i bought two white window blinds and then when i got home, i realized the color doesn't go with the color of my wall. black blinds would suit my wall better. so what kind of paint should i buy to color over the plastic surface of the blinds? thank you!: Modeling paint seems to about your best bet as it is made for plastic but it only comes in small tins so you may need a few.

Q: I have tried the heating up shrink wrap and the double sided sticky tape won't hold on my wall. So I bought a thick layer of plastic and tried to hold it up with tacks and just duct tape around it. The duct tape also comes peeling of my walls. Is there some kind of tape/glue that can hold this plastic up and not peel off my walls?: I would try using a tube of white, tan, brown painters latex caulking in a small 11 oz. tube and caulking gun. All purchased for under $10. The latex caulk will adhere to just about any surface and can be removed at a later date by lightly scraping off with putty knife or just painting over it. You may need to use your tacks, or tape to hold it in place for 10 minutes until the caulk starts to dry. Just a thin bead all the way around the window.

Q: Would a Jeep Wrangler with glass windows be any less noisy than a model with plastic windows?: If you are worried about road noise you should sell your Jeep and buy a Lexus.
