Q: out of envelopes before you put it in your paper recycles or do you leave it in? This bugs me EVERY week, lol. Who does this and who doesn't . Anyone know how they deal with the plastic. ?: If your recycler says they take Mixed paper or mail, then don't worry about the windows. They are prepared to deal with the windows.

Q: its like recycling plastic into paper use: You know the plastic window you find on envelopes? Wipe that gently with acetone (nail polish remover), it will become white and opaque and will actually hold ink. The problem with converting plastic to paper use is that most plastics do not hold inks very well. The transparencies that one can print on (using laser printers) uses heat to bond powder onto the plastic. If you try to use an ink-jet printer on transparencies, because of the inherent smoothness of plastic, the ink lays on top of the plastic and can be smudged. The little trick with the plastic window and acetone is that the acetone partially dissolves the polystyrene window and makes it more permeable to inks. Ultimately, it is not technology that is the problem, it is costs (and legislation).

Q: ..The cardboard part is recyclable, the twist ties are reusable, wrapping paper and ribbon have reuse or recyclable value. I can't think of what to do with the plastic part.: if it is recyclable it will have a triangle with a number in it . Or garbage if it does not. the type of packaging that manufacturers use is there for protection against shop lifting and if they wanted to risk that, a very simple low waste package could be used.

Q: Do I have to replace the entire convertible or can the plastic be replaced?: you can have the plastic replaced - i had it happen to me, it faded to yellow and was just plain ugly. either take it to the benz store and have them take care of it - or go to a good upholstery shop and have them replace it. so, yes it is very easily done.

Q: Will window chalk(window marker) come off of Soft top plastic windows?: NO!!! i just put on the window chalk paint on my cousins cars headlights during his wedding and now they are stained red! and whatever you do don't put it on the grill. it took the silver paint off that too!

Some of the mail have two, one that I open and one I'm supposed to send something to the company. Q: ...even when washing it? And I live in San Diego, not like in TX where the cling probably would bake into the window. But the windows are tinted, so it would have to be on the outside. The cling is about 6quot; in diameter.: I would think it may stick, but it would probably fall off due to the bumpiness of driving, plus when you wash it, it will make it fall off. If your windows are tinted, I wouldn't even mess with it because it may cause a discoloration, but I am not positive. I hope this helps you some! Btw, I love window clings too! :)

Q: Im looking at buying this jeep, The problem is it has those plastic zip down windows, instead of glass roll ups.can I buy glass windows for it? or would I actually have to buy completely new doors with roll up windows.cuz its gonna b a serious pain n the *** to unzip the windows!: I think the plastic windows suck yes you can buy new doors for it which have windows that are glass. You should look in a junkyard for a good price. Ps I have a 97 Jeep Wrangler with glass windows it is a good vehicle my 4cyl gets like 18-19 mpg sometimes even 20 and its a beast offroad. Seriously it does whats its suppost to off road.

Q: I want to install low-E plastic film on my window. I'm a do-it-yourself and I want it to be revesible for summer and winter to ensure I save the more energy. I also want something transparent.Thanks: One of the cheapest places to get it if you can do it yourself is at Lowe's. They sell a large variety of tint with different shades and performance for windows and doors you can custom cut. If you are trying to save energy, they have a heat reflective film that I believe is up to 90% heat reflexive. It is in transparent and mirrored coatings. If you plan on removing it, make sure you get the static cling style and you can remove it and reuse it against next season because there isn't any adhedsives left on the film or glass. Make sure you really wet the glass and film on installation. Good luck!

Q: Can a 1992 convertible Mazda Miata plastic window be replaced with a later model glass one?: I need to replace my 1993 Mazda Miata soft top with plastic rear window to a soft top with a glass window. If a soft top with a glass window is installed, how would the top fold down considering there is glass window or will you ever be able to fold the soft top? A plastic window can easily easily but I don't see how it would. Thanks.
