- Q: Hello all, for several years I have been having to buy replacement Jeep soft top (plastic) windows to replace the scratched ones. The last couple of times I have been fairly careful in not scratching them but I have noticed that even without scratches there seems to be some type of buildup that prevents it from looking clear and shinny as when they are new. I have tried using all sorts of soft soaps and even dish washing soap thinking it would take the build up off. Well, not luck. Here is my question, does anyone know of a product that they have actually used to keep Jeep soft top windows looking shiny and clear? Thanks,
- i think of the plastic residing house windows suck particular you may desire to purchase new doors for it that have residing house windows that are glass. you may desire to look in a junkyard for a good cost. playstation I actually have a ninety seven Jeep Wrangler with glass residing house windows it is a sturdy motor vehicle my 4cyl gets like 18-19 mpg especially situations even 20 and its a beast offroad. heavily it does whats its suppost to off street.
- Q: Every fall we put plastic on the outside of our windows to provide added insulation during the winter. The plastice we use is said to be clear but isnt. It always ends up that we cant see out the windows all winter. It really sucks. Does anyone know of an insulating plastic that is trully clear and will allow us to actually see out the windows?
- Use pure clear garbage bags and double sided tape on the inside of the windows, only cut out the center part of the bag or sheet, and tape the loose part down what it will look like is a picture frame, leaving you your window to look out but smaller. The part that leaks around a window is the frame and where the glass meets the frame,

- Not a guaranteed solution, but try WD40. The oily substance may soften the stickies and get it off. Put on and let soak before trying to scrape.

- When you know you'll be comfortable in the house without the plastic on the windows. Some people are comfortable when the weather gets into the 50's, some at other temperatures.
- Q: I have a Renault Clio authentique 1.2L and it has electric windows....there is a plastic clip attached to the back of the glass that i presume keeps the glass coming up and down at the right angle but it comes up really slowly and some times not at all....i think it has something to do either with the plastic clip or it needs more lubrication.....any help is appreciated. - Do you mean like the ones where you pull them down and they unroll, and then to open them back up you pull down slightly and push them back up? I have those and I got them at the Home Depot. You can special order them in whatever size you want. And, they're fairly inexpensive. I have them on two picture windows with a southwest exposure, one about 6 feet long and the other about 7 feet long. I also have 2-inch horizontal mini blinds on those windows. But, the blinds are so long and heavy that they don't completely close all the way. So, I had to install the roll-up blinds behind them. And, they work great.

- How is the plastic attached? What is it attached to? Are trouble shooting ideas available? I've had problems with the window flashing's sweating, causing the tape and/or adhesive to fail. Try attaching the plastic to wooden strips and inserting the framed plastic in the window area. Another option is a staple gun, however, that can create problems of a different nature. Try contacting your local hardware store for ideas, suggestions and possibly solutions offered by other customers.

This is why very few road-legal cars have plastic windows, save for stripped out exotic cars like the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, Ferrari F430 Scuderia, Aston Martin V8 Vantage N24, and I believe the Porsche 911 GT3 RS has some plastic windows.
