Definition of Good Quality Pure Calcium Aluminate Cement

It is a kind of aluminate cement wrought material based upon calcium aluminate, it is called Aluminate cement when it has been finegrinded to hydraulicity cementing material, its code is CA. When the cement has a grinded Al2O3 content of above 68%, it can be added with appropriate amount of α-Al2O3 powder as requirement.

It can be used to formulate unshape refractory material; expansive cement, self-stressing cement, addition material of chemical construction material and projects with special requirements.

Q: what does it mean to RE-CEMENT a boiler and what does it do?: Older Boilers are lined with refractory cement. This is an insulation layer of concrete used to keep a firebox in a boiler from losing valuable heat and it also protects the firebox from metallic overheating which can cause structural failure over time. Your boiler's cement has started to fall apart and the process of Re-Cementing repairs that failure, making the firebox patent and safe again for heating.

Q: Any one know the differnt ratios of sand and cement for the different strengths of concrete eg. 25N 35N etc.?: Cement to aggregate ratios do not determine concrete strength. The water to cement ratio is what determines strength. Sand, gravel and other aggregates act as a bonding agent. Normal ratio is 7-15% cement to 14-21% water with remaining percentage as the aggregate.

Q: I inhaled Elmer's rubber cement for around 1-2 minutes. I feel so stupid and regret it so much. I didn't know what would happen, and just wanted to try it. Should I call 911?: Why on earth would you want to inhale Elmer's rubber cement, that's something beyond dangerous and not at all healthy you can get really sick or worst died from that, either way what's done is done but to be on the safe side you should go to the doctor and get yourself check out to make sure that the chemical in Elmer's rubber cement didn't affect you in anyway. Q: how to install cement board for tile floor?: definitely go down to the sub floor ,either use thin-set as described above or use construction sub floor glue in a tube either large or small i use it quite often and it bonds very well and is a lot quicker than thin set just make rows 8 to 10 inches apart,i recommend 1/4 inch hardy backer board ,you don't want it to be too high to match up to other floors connecting,1/2inch is used primarily on walls to match standard drywall thicknesses,mainly i use roofing nails because its a industry standard and i have a nail gun for them,but if i do it for myself and im not in a hurry stainless large head screws grab very well,you can cut the hardy backer board with a scribe and then snap it ,when im in a hurry i use a die grinder to cut its fast and easy to do curves ,bad side to that is the dust i do it out side or with a big fan in the window and aim at it ,the die grinder can be bought at harbor freight for less than 20 bucks and it also cuts tile

Q: I have tile borders that have been used as a design form between 2 set of tiles unfortunately the person performing the tiling bit has applied direct cement onto it and has caused it to harden and set. Now the cement is hard to scrape off since the border has designs grooved on it and is also covered with grout colour. Can anyone please help me out and tell me how to remove grout colour and cement from it.: If you have grout then it seems likely you have ceramic tiles. You can easily remove extra cement by using a rotary brass brush in an electric drill. You can buy them at most hardware stores. Use light pressure, low speed, and a bit of patience to remove the cement. When all of the large parts are gone, then clean the remaining bits with a bit of extra fine steel wool and a kitchen cleanser, such as Ajax or Comet. The brush may leave some dark marks, especially if you overheat the contact area: these will usually disappear with the cleanser.

Q: What kind of cement (and where can I get it $$$$) can I use to replace it without going back to the dentist?: You cannot re cement it by yourself. It is even a tricky procedure for the dentist to properly do and he has several different types of materials he can decide to use. Do the job right and see a professional. It is not that costly.

Q: I can see the cracks in the basin of the birdbath and when I fill the bath, there is a slow leak which drains the birdbath in about 1/2 hour. Is there some non-toxic way to fix the cracks?: Empty it out and let it dry for a few days since it is cement. You can go to the store and get some ready creat and mix it up and smooth it over the areas that are cracked to repair it. So that it will seal off the area. Or you can try this. Empty it and let it dry get some aquarium cement and put it on the cracks to fill them up. It is non toxic since it's used in fish tanks all the time. I really think the ready creat cement is a better idea since it is cement after all.

Q: what weighs more? cement or sand?: depends on the type of sand and the type of cement, along with the moisture content of both. Also are you talking about cement that has been poured and cured or not?

Q: This crack has caused a layer of cement wall, about 1/2 inch thick, to fall off. The area of the layer that has come off is about 1ft by 1ft. Do I need to add cement to the wall to fix it? My house is a 1920-40 era colonial so the house is pretty old. The basement wasn't finished, but there was drywall on the wall where the crack was. I removed the wall because of water damage and I found the crack. I am not going to finish the basement, I just want to waterproof the wall, paint it and have the exposed concrete. I plan on doing this myself if it is possible. Additionally I found some thin roots in the wall where the 1/2in layer of concrete came off. Should I be worried about that? Thanks in advance.: Go to Lowes and check out the hydraulic cement, and see if this would work for you....you will have to find the source of the roots and get rid of the roots...since it is leaking, the hydraulic cement will get harder with moisture, you can do a web search and see if you think this product would work to solve your problem, Good Luck

Q: Why do people call a concrete mixer a cement mixer?: I AGREE! It's the same as calling it a gravel mixer or a sand mixer. Why not call an ice cube tray a water tray. The only thing I can think of is that it can be used to mix either concrete or mortar, and the common ingredient which is most needed is cement. I don't think Sand mixer or Water mixer or even Mortar mixer would have done it justice!
