- Q:Can i use steel shot in a remington 870 wingmaster full choke 30 inch barrel. the shotgun is in great shape and about 20 or 25 years old probably. thank you. the steel shot i have got is 12 gauge 2 3/4 in 1550 velocity 1 1/16 oz 2 shot winchester xpert high velocity steel shot
- A full choke is not recommended for most steel shot. That gun was made before steel shot was popular and the barrel probably will not hold up to the hard steel shot. You have two options. Both will cost money. You can get the soft heavy shot and use that. Or you can buy a newer shotgun and use steel in it.
- Q:Are steel coils corrosion-resistant?
- Yes, steel coils can be corrosion-resistant depending on the type of steel used and any additional protective coatings applied.
- Q:What are the typical lead times for ordering steel coils?
- The typical lead times for ordering steel coils can vary depending on several factors, including the supplier, the quantity and specifications of the coils, as well as the current market conditions. However, on average, lead times can range from a few weeks to a couple of months. It is always recommended to contact the specific supplier for more accurate information regarding lead times.
- Q:i see a lot of connexes say repair only with corten steel. what is the difference between corten steel and regular steel. and if i was going to stick weld it what type of electrode would i use?and while i'm at it what is the best electrode to use when welding galvenized steel?
- 6010 and 6011 Electrodes for welding galvenized steel. Weathering steel, best-known under the trademark COR-TEN steel and sometimes written without the hyphen as Corten steel, is a group of steel alloys which were developed to obviate the need for painting, and form a stable rust-like appearance if exposed to the weather for several years. The corrosion-retarding effect of the protective layer is produced by the particular distribution and concentration of alloying elements in it. The layer protecting the surface develops and regenerates continuously when subjected to the influence of the weather. In other words, the steel is allowed to rust in order to form the 'protective' coating. - Q:Can steel coils be cut to length?
- Yes, steel coils can be cut to length using various cutting methods such as shearing, slitting, or sawing.
- Q:What are the different methods of coil packaging for steel coils?
- There are several different methods of coil packaging for steel coils, each with its own advantages and suitability for specific applications. Some of the common methods include: 1. Strapping: This method involves using steel or plastic strapping to secure the coil and prevent it from unwinding or shifting during transportation. Strapping can be done manually or with the help of strapping machines, offering a cost-effective and reliable packaging solution. 2. Stretch wrapping: Stretch wrapping involves using a stretch film to tightly wrap the coil. The film is stretched and wrapped around the coil, providing protection against dust, moisture, and damage. This method is suitable for lightweight coils and offers good visibility of the product. 3. Steel banding: Steel banding is a robust and heavy-duty packaging method that involves using steel bands to secure the coil. This method provides high strength and durability, ensuring that the coil remains intact during transportation or storage. 4. Edge protectors: Edge protectors are used in conjunction with other packaging methods to safeguard the edges of the coil. These protectors are typically made of cardboard or plastic and provide additional support to prevent edge damage. 5. Wooden crates: For heavy or fragile steel coils, wooden crates are often used to provide maximum protection. The coils are placed inside the crate and secured with strapping or steel banding. Wooden crates offer excellent strength and stability and can be customized to fit specific coil dimensions. 6. Paper interleaving: This method involves inserting layers of paper or cardboard between individual wraps of the coil to prevent scratching or marking. Paper interleaving is commonly used when the coils are stacked together or when they have a high surface finish that needs to be protected. 7. Automated packaging systems: In larger-scale operations, automated packaging systems can be utilized. These systems are designed to handle and package coils using various methods, such as strapping, stretch wrapping, or steel banding. They offer increased efficiency and productivity while ensuring consistent and secure packaging. The choice of coil packaging method depends on factors such as the size and weight of the coil, transportation requirements, level of protection needed, and cost considerations. It is essential to select the appropriate packaging method to ensure the safe delivery of steel coils to their destination.
- Q:I want to make a stock removal knife, but I am really confused about what steel to use. I am just a beginner but I read o1 steel is great? Also I am kind of on a budget.
- O-1 is an excellent steel. If you've never made a knife before find an old file and use it. My first knives weren't that good, it took a little practice to get the geometry right so be prepared to burn some steel. The advantage of a file is it is already hardened, unless you have a torch or forge that will be near imposable for you to do. The most important thing in knife making is the heat treating. The best steel wont perform like it's supposed to. If you decide to use a file grind your blade out, keep the steel cool; do not let it get any color in it (brown, blue, purple) as this destroys the temper. When your finished put the blade in the oven at 400 deg for an hour. It should have a good hardness for a knife then. As for me, I use old car springs(5160), saw blades(L-6) for many of my blades, Good luck.
- Q:In the game RuneScape, the concept of the fictitious metal, Rune has intrigued me. On an equal area AND weight basis (with a possible 10 lb exception) what metal is 256% stronger than steel?
- aluminum
- Q:I'm getting new strings on my dad's old acoustic guitar so I can learn how to play it and I'm wondering if I should get nylon or steel strings. Are there any major differences between the two aside from the nylon strings being easier on your fingers? Like do the Nylon strings sound different?
- Well there definitely is a difference in sound. It kind of depends on what type of music you're getting into. If you what to play more pop/rock songs I'd go with steel. But for classical guitar or folk music, go with the nylon.
- Q:Does anyone have any idea where I could get a necklace that has the British Steel by Judas Priest logo?
