- Q: Ok, the bottom cabinets (vanity) is 60" wide and the the sink or vanity top is 61" wide dual bowl cultured marble. The vanity and vanity top in question is my profile pic or avatar and I had a house fire and now I have to find this sink and cabinets to have it replaced. - If this is a vanity light fixture,it is a ground wire. Newer wiring has 3 wires- a hot wire to supply electricity,a neutral wire to complete the electrical circuit and a ground wire for safety reasons. Older homes had 2 wires and the plugs could be inserted either way. The the polarized plug was introduced,which meant that a plug could be inserted only 1 way (1 prong is bigger than the other). Updated building codes are now requiring the newer 3 prong outlets,but the polarized plugs will still work in them.

- You won't be able to find a vanity at that width that has drawers. Here's a couple of suggestions for you though, and cheaper as well. First look at wall mount medicine cabinets with mirrored doors. It gives you the mirror you lack and additional storage. They mount with screws right onto the drywall. Another option is to get a wall cabinet and mount it over the toilet. You can buy an unfinished cabinet for under $100. The cabinets come at 30' tall and vary in widths in increments of 3' (ie: 12', 15', 18' and so on)That will give you more storage, but doesn't help with the mirror.

- Q: We bought a vanity set from Home Depot for our bathroom. It came with the base (vanity) and a counter/sink piece to sit on top. We don't see anyway to secure the counter to the vanity. It just sits there. But it rocks a little actually. Seems like it should stay in place somehow other than because the faucet is attached to the plumbing. How do we do this? It didn't come with any pieces, and maybe it should have come with directions we don't have.Thanks
- i place about an inch of caulk at all four corners, if you ever need to take if off it would be almost impossible if you caulk the entire edges. other than that its just the weight of it that keeps it in place. (the vanity cabinet should be attached to the wall with screws) place the vanity top in place, do not push down too hard or all the caulk will be pressed out and it could still rock a little. caulk around where the vanity top meets the wall to keep out water.
- Q: I am installing a bathroom vanity that is on the same wall as my hot water baseboard. What is the best way to allow the heat to escape from my vanity and into the room?The vanity is 30" wide and the room is in total about 8.5 feet by 4.5 feet (floor space only, not including tub and shower)Is it OK to cover this section of the pipe with insulation? This would protect the vanity? Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Thanks,Shawn
- go ahead and install u vanity ,just make sure u cut a hole in the front of the new vanity and install a new grill also for the heat and air to go out into the room,is fine it works,good luck my friend
