- Q: the work is being done in pa want to confirm to code
- Some vanities are taller than others and we rough in at 21' for the drain for the 33' tall vanities and 18' for the shorter. The kitchen sink is 22' for the drain. For the supplies, I keep them even or a little above the drain to gain the most space underneath.
- Q: There is no upstairs and it is a flatroof home. It is a single 2" diameter pvc pipe that looks exactly like the drain pipe under the sink. It is in the wall and goes up to the ceiling. It is placed directly behind the faucet/drain of the bathroom sink. Is this like an airvent for the drain? I need to relocate it because it is where I need to place a lighting fixture box so it can be centered. Would it be ok to cut it above and below the space I need and rejoin it with a jog to the left, up and a jog to the right to reconnect it so I will be able to center the vanity light? Thanks.

- Q: so you know those boxed sink w/ vanitie that the lowes and Home depot sells. Most of the standard ones are either white or a light oak. Has anyone ever painted or stained the oak one a different color to match their bathroom a little better. Like a darker cherry vs. the light oak that you buy it as ?Was wondering if this could be done, or a good idea, would I have to prime it first, I mean it is wood, it should be able to absorb and accept a good quality wood stain, right ?
- If the vanity has a factory finish on it, you will not be able to restain it without a lot of difficulty. The polyurethane finish will not let the stain penetrate the wood. You can use a bonding primer and then a top coat of paint. If you want to stain your own, you should check into buying an unfinished vanity. God Luck
- Q: We are building a new house and I am fighting with my husband about the kids bathroom. I want to use a tool box for the vanity so that htey have all the drawers for earrings and make up. I think it sounds cool I want to put the sink sitting on top but do not know how to do this with the pipes and not lose drawer space Any Ideas would be great

- Q: I'm looking for a Bathroom vanity thats not to costly under four hundred idealy, but I would love something modern and a vessel sink, any ideas where to shop? (homedepot does not have what I want!)
- Pier 1 and Cost plus both have actual furniture pieces that could easily be converted to a vessel sink. I know we did it. The single biggest expense will be the sink and fixtures. Check out Pacific Sales, and Home Depot Expo for the vessels sinks. But whatever you find that you like, Pacific Sales will beat the price. But also check out coverting decorative bowls (particularly the metal ones) because many can be bored out to accomodate the drain.

- If ply wood will satisfy you, cut the door out of two side good birch plywood. If you are going to use dimensional lumber, use what you want, but don't use Bass wood or poplar or pine. I hope you know what you are doing.
