- Mosaic tiles can add a lot of variety and interest into a bathroom. A mixture of blues is suitable and your decision to keep the other areas white is also correct. I am assuming the fittings will also be white colour. But, if you are planning to cover only one part of a wall where it is against the shower, it might not look right. (unless the wall you are referring to is the wide side of the shower and it is also the full width of the bathroom) it is best to either use it on all three sides of the shower or in one full wall of the bathroom.

The joint will be hidden behind the tile. Use the blue or green coloured drywall it's better to resist the humidity.

- Q: I have a 15x15 tile that is on the floor in front of a gas fireplace (never been used) that has a hairline crack in it. The tile is one of 4 on the floor and matches 8 others that ring the face of the gas fireplace, the bathrooms and the kitchen. I cannot find the same tile to replace it. There is no elevation difference across the crack.Is there a method to fill the hairline crack so it doesn‘t stand out like a sore thumb?
- Try adding some dye to grout to match the color. You will still know the crack is there but nobody else will! You can also use silicone but its harder to work with and doesnt last as long. You may want to experiment with the color by mixing a couple different colors to see which one is the best. Get the dye from a masonry or tile supply house. It is meant for grout. Have fun, Dan

- Using a straight edge clamped down, a scoring knife,and tile nippers. Or use a Band saw or scroll saw using the appropriate blade, which would be a masonry blade. Bye
- Q: i had a pipe leak into my bedroom and now everything is torn apart so i am remodeling my room and i cant decide between wood or tile flooring. my dad said wood because it looks good and because our living room and theater room is tile and if my bedroom is tile it wouldnt make any sense. my mom says i should get tile because if my grandma spills her drink or eat in my room it wont ruin the tile and its easy to clean up but if wood it could be ruined with scratch marks or circle stain on the wood from the cup or drink she spills. so now i dont know which one to choose. also i would like to paint my room blue and wonder if you guys have any suggestions on the shade colors of blue any website or image of the shade color would be nice if i could view them. thank you in advance!

- Measure the tile area, both length and width, multiply the length by the width, to obtain the square footage of the area to be cleaned. The standard for a 'square' is 100 square feet. If you have an area that is not a rectangle or square, break your area into square or rectangle shapes, then multiply each area and add the total of all areas. Example: largest area, 12'.5 X 12' = 150, next area, 5'X 6' =30, 144+30= 180 square feet or 1.8 squares.
- Q: Is there a site you know that would be helpful for this. I am going to be doingthe kitchen walls, no back splash from counter. Tile will start at counter go up to bottom of cabinets.I was thinking of using a regular tile then half way up putting a 6 inch strip of glass tile, they are smaller really add SPUNK! lol I need some pointers on doing it though. - It's a great look you are going to love it!! Here's what I know. Buy the triangular wedges type spacers. The will hold the tiles up in position better than the X type. you pull these out once the tile is set. Be sure that you start your accent pieces directly 1/2 space over from your tiles, you don't want the lines to accidentally match up, that just blows the whole line appeal out of the park. So cut your first accent so that it ends in the middle of your lower tile. That should give you the proper off set. Be sure to use mastic especially designed for wall applications. Standing up on the wall, it must be more stiff from the start than your flat surfaces. Same goes for the grout, mix it just a tad more firm than you'd like to work with, it will stay up better. Nothing worse than the grout running down. That's all I know. I've done it a few times and am always so proud. What a savings!!

- Q: I am currently removing old cork tiles from the floor of my house. They are stuck down to the cement and as I‘m chiselling them up I‘m being left with a lot of glue residue with fragments of the cork too. Any tips on easy removal of the old tiles, but more importantly removing the glue? We are replacing them with new ceramic floor tiles. I was thinking maybe a heat gun and a scraper to clean it up but Dad has suggested a grinder! Any experiences with fast and easy removal of residue? I‘ve still got a room of cork to remove so if there‘s a better way than hammer and chisel I‘d love to hear about it!
- Oh man I feel your pain! a.Get a razor sharp floor scraper and go at it. b. Get a paint scraper and scrub the floor like you would any paint. I think you get more leverage using a hand held paint scraper. c. Last case scenario use a non oil based solvent like Acetone, or Lacquer thinner to dissolve the glue. Be sure to ventilate well so you don't get a buzz from the fumes. Good Luck!
