- Q:Anyone know who carries Emmevi ceramic tile?Looking for Emmevi ceramic Opale 12.5‘ * 12.5‘ tile. Willing to pay for info and tile. Need some tile ASAP
- Finding okorder /... You have an odd size that is seldom made today.
- Q:There was actually only a tub there and no shower, so the walls are all plaster. I know that before I tile I need a different backerboard, meaning the plaster goes at least to a point. Any hints, tips, directions, and suggestions on how to do the job?
- If okorder /... If you haven't done tile before, then you may want to hire someone. Even through Schluter's Kerdi system makes the shower a lot easier, I wouldn't recommend that you take on this project without a bit experience with tile. A shower even with this simple system is one of the hardest tile projects there is. But if you have tiled backsplashes or tub surrounds then get the CD-ROM or video, and study it, and go for it. My suggestion is make sure you run the tile plumb and level, get that Kerdi-Mat flat and well bonded, you are going to have to float the curb (the mat when lapped itself, builds up a ridge, you'll see) so use a straight edge. Use a mosaic two inch for the floor. Caulk the inside corners. A simpler thing would be to get a fiberglass pan, and just tile the walls. You still need to waterproof the walls with Kerdi-Mat or a combination of concrete board over tar-paper. An excellent book is Setting Tile by Micheal Bryne. It will show more details than a describe here. Good Luck
- Q:How many types of tiles are there?
- 6) antique brick Antique tiles are evolved from glazed tiles, essentially glazed porcelain tiles. Compared with ordinary glazed tiles, the difference is mainly reflected in the color of the glaze above, antique tiles are ordinary tiles, and the disk is basically the same, the so-called antique, refers to the effect of brick, antique effect should be called tiles, Antique brick is not easy to clean. The only difference is in the firing process, the antique brick technical requirements are relatively high, thousands of tons of hydraulic press after pressing, and then by thousands of high temperature sintering, to its high strength, with a strong wear resistance, carefully developed Antique tiles both waterproof, non-slip, corrosion-resistant features. Common specifications: 300 × 300 mm, 400 × 400mm, 500 × 500mm, 600 × 600mm, 300 × 600mm, 800 × 800mm and so on.
- Q:I almost bought porcelin tile but I know ceramic tile is much more popular, what about the endurance factor between the two? I want to get something that will last and still look good.Does anyone know about flooring, and could tell me which is best?
- Porcelain is a more dense tile with less water absorption. I prefer porcelain over ceramic. In most cases when/if you get a chip in porcelain it is much more noticeable. In any case, your taste will most likely determine your choice. However, tile has ratings, i.e., 1 thru 5. 1 being less durable and 5 being most durable. 1's and 2's would be a wall tile and 3-5 would be a floor tile. Ask your supplier when you see something you like. If he doesn't know, go somewhere else.
- Q:The house has been living for two years, these days do not know the weather is wet or how the matter, the bathroom tile actually fell a few pieces, but fortunately did not break. Now want to paste it back, I would like to ask, how to paste? With cement? Or what other glue? Do you want to drink again before There is also a problem with the brick at that time, but the closure or other problems? Another: Tiles are Mona Lisa. Thank you!
- Building materials store to sell plastic construction, smear to the back of the brick, paste it can be, I used n times.
- Q:Also, formica or tile for a countertop???
- Porcelain is much better quality. The design goes through and though, not just a glaze on top like ceramic. I love tile, but granite is beautiful. I have formica and I like it but don't love it.
- Q:we ‘tiled‘ one wall and it was our original plan to do just that one.but now,a lot of tile has been not used (of what we bought) and the shopkeeper wouldn‘t take it back.what should we do?we can‘t do an entire another wall because we don‘t have that much tile but,it‘s still a lot.pleease help :)
- YOu can paste them on the side of your doors and something like that.
- Q:We recently had new porcelain tile installed on our guest bath floor, and we‘d like to clean it regularly without harming the tiles and grout. The tile installer had no recommendations about this process, nor did the tile company where we made the purchase. Researching this info is very confusing. Some sites recommend using only a wet mop, while others claim that vinegar diluted in water is appropriate; others advise using some type of manufactured cleaning product. We know that regular sweeping is necessary, but we‘re unsure which products to use to protect our new floor. If you suggest a wet mop, please advise which is best: Shark, Eureka, Bissell, etc. Thanks for any detailed advice you can provide.
- I am going to assume that the grout has been sealed. If your tile installer did not seal the grout you should demand he come back and finish the job. It is a must. After the grout has been sealed, any type of cleaner that has any type of acid in it will strip out the sealer. Your tile and grout will be clean of everything including sealer. Which means you will have to do it again. So, first off I use and recommend StoneTech Professional Impregnator Pro. Some sealers sit on the surface of the grout and are apt to peel off. Impregnators actually penetrate the grout and seal it from within. Second, I use and recommend StoneTech Professional All Purpose Stone and Tile Cleaner. It operates like any other cleaner. Dilute it in warm water as per instructions and it both cleans the tile and grout and will not interfere with the sealer. To keep up with the sealing, I believe StoneTech recommends re-sealing every 3-5 years. This is purely a guideline. You'll know it's time to re-seal when, as your mopping or getting out of the shower and the floor gets wet, the grout will change color. This means that the sealer has worn out and the grout is getting wet.
- Q:If so, what do you clean it with? I have one in my kitchen I hate it! I‘m always cleaning it and we don‘t even wear shoes in the house but yet it always looks like it has blackheads! I have used the magic eraser to get the marks off but it‘s a p.i.t.a. :)
- I do our tile the hard way with a big industrial cloth mop and common household cleaner and ours is in pretty good shape. The texture in the tiles will trap dirt in the crevasses a lot easier and that's why I use a heavy mop to get in there and clean.
