Q:i used the baskup board, the adhesive, then put the adhesive on each tile.
i am more familiar with tiles falling off the wall. but yours are glued on so good they wont fall. The wall must be warping from water or steam and heat and the tiles wont bend with it so they crack.
Q:I was watching HGTV and they had this tile that was flexible. It looked like alot of small square tile mounted to a flexible backing. Does anyone know the name of these? Thanks
that's many times completed yet, the great yet.....the floor, the winning floor should be great clean. pass to homestead Depot and get a gallon of Armstrong: Latex primer. As I suggested, clean the floor genuine good, make particular there are actually not any dips that are sharp or humps that are sharp. No grains of sand, those will look as though mountains under the hot tile, that's superb to try this in stocking ft. consistently checking for dirt and combing each and all of the time. do no longer placed the hot tile over an identical line yet pass them. earlier you start up, placed an outstanding layer of primer down with a curler and anticipate it to dry thoroughly. If there is areas between the previous tile that are fairly far aside, I even have used a filler to fill those.
Q:the tile squares have come off and I need to re-stick them. Which glue should I use?
The thin floor tiles? Sometimes you can heat the tile back and floor with a hair drier then stick them back in place one by one. If that doesn't work then carry a tile to a flooring outlet and ask them what to use and do. There's different types of adhesives. Some can be re-activated with heat while others need to be removed then a fresh application trowled on.
Q:and people will rip up the 12X12 tile floor and replace it with smaller tiles? Just need a few opinions.
That size or a variation of that size ( you ll see some 13x13 around) will be here for a long time to come. Its been around for a long time now. The new way to make modular tiles from that size will ensure it stays around longer. This size also fits well into large areas as well as slightly smaller areas. Colors will be the only changes that will occur , as they always do. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there. GL
Q:I am going to lay bathroom floor tiles in my bathroom but I have some questions before I start. 1. Can I lay the new tiles over the existing floor, which is vinyl flooring? Or do I have to remove that first? 2. If I have to remove the vinyl flooring do I have to add cement backer board? Or can I lay the tile right over whatever is under the vinyl flooring? 3. I have trim along that floor that I will be re-attaching, do I lay the tile right up to the wall or do I put a space in between the wall and the edge tile? Do I then grout into that space between the wall and the edge tile?
you actually *can* install ceramic tile over vinyl flooring, if the vinyl is in good shape and not coming up or bubbling. you would need to use a mutliflex thinset instead of a standard thinset for the ceramic tiles to stick. now this only works if the vinyl is over concrete. if it's over wood, then an underlayment is needed. if the vinyl is in poor shape, pull it up. if in doubt as to it's quality, pull it up. 1/4 or 1/2 hardibacker or durarock are your options for your underlayment. use a multiflex thinset to adhere to the vinyl or wood subfloor and screw the board down every 6 inches. if your floor is a concrete slab don't bother with the underlayment; just tile directly over the concrete. leave a slight gap from your tile to your wall, then install your base and/or shoe molding. grouting the space between the tile and wall would be a waste of time and grout. don't bother; the base will cover it. i agree with the 1/8 grout joint. a much better look to it than a larger joint. keep in mind the thinset rules: a tile up to 12 requires a 3/8 notch of thinset, a tile 16 to 18 needs a 1/2 notch, and anything over 18 requires a 3/4 notch. this guarantees that there will be no thinset adhesian failures. good luck!
Q:What is transparent tiles
(The market also known as tiles, polished tiles, etc.) is the rock debris by pressing high pressure, the surface after grinding hardness compared with the stone, water absorption is lower, good wear resistance. The surface of the whole body is not glazed, and the front and the back of the material and color consistent, hence the name. Although there are seepage of the whole body bricks and other varieties, but relatively speaking, its color than glazed tiles. Most of the anti-skid brick are all bricks. Q:Hi, I was wondering if the house appraisal for a house with all hardwood floor was higher than it is if the house has all tile. Thanks!
REAL harwood floors (meaning the flooring is 100% hardwood and not a laminate of any kind) usually appraise SLIGHTLY higher. This means the floors are in great shape with no re-finishing needed.etc needed. It also means they are flat (not warped) or dinged and stain free. As with tile wood floors come in all price ranges. Laminates (like babmboo or pergo) won't be valued as highly as 100% hardwood planks. Tile floors are 'iffy'. Just like harwood there are all different grades of tile. Cheap tiles -ceramic,terra cotta- do not appraise as highly as porcelain, stone or marble flooring. But even with the best of the best of either the appraisal value would change only a few 100 dollars between the best quality and the worst quailty of either.Hope this was helpful
Q:I have a tile shower that is looking rather shabby. I‘ve been considering ripping the tile out and re-doing it, but I was given the suggestion of professionally refinishing the tile. Has anyone ever done this? What is involved? I‘m okay with the tile, but I‘d like it to look nicer than it does with out spending a ton of money.
I just saw on DIY that they painted these ugly pink tiles with an enamel paint so they were white, It's really toxic so you have to wear a special face mask when painting. It didn't look all that great to me- they taped the edges but it went over. I'm sure if it was professionally done it would look nicer. You should price it out to see the difference in cost.
Q:I purchased a DIY tile backsplash kit which costs originally $134.00. Kit includes 15 sq feet of tile, grout and tools needed to install. Lowe‘s sells the kit. The problem is the color is not the color I need. So I have this bright idea to paint the tile the color I want. I only paid $40.00 for the kit. I called one of the paint suppliers and they told me a spray paint I could use for the glass tile, however, I am afraid tha after I paint the tile, install it and then add the grouting, it may take the paint off!. I don‘t know, if it would or not. I was thinking I could spray polyurethan over the tile before I grout it or would that work? Not sure what to do. This kit is a new method for putting up a backsplash in your kitchen. It is actually peel and stick and then you must grout within 2 hours.
The first problem was buying the glass back-splash kit. This is a fad. It looks bad. You can get a very high end back-splash with granite or marble tiles, 12 in. by 12in. Glue the tiles in place with loctite cement. No grout lines needed. Buy a used wet tile cutter on OKorder . Practice with cheap tile from the DIY stores. Then, you can move the the bath floor and tub surround. Not too long you could be doing granite tile counter tops.
Q:If you were going to tile an entire room would you start from the walls or floor? The room is only small 12m walls amp; 4m floor amp; is a basic toilet amp; basin. There are no border tiles amp; no fllor to wall tiles.
