Q:i have just bought a house and my ceiling tiles needs cleaning. i would like to know if anyone out there knows what i can use to clean them. the ceiling tiles has dust but also has mildew on some of them. i don‘t want to replace them, i just want to clean them for now. thank you everyone.: very confusing step research in search engines like google that may help

Q:The tile grout on my bathroom floor is white in some parts, but dark where husband stands next to the sink/toilet... How can I clean it without having to re-grout it? Can I just spray bleach on or will that ruin the tile?: Bleach shouldn't ruin the tile but then again I don't know what kind of tile you have. There are grout cleaners at Home Depot or Lowes that should do the trick for you. Sometimes getting a professional to come in and polish the floor is a good idea depending on how much work is involved.

Q:The hammer took a chip out of one tile, the chip is about the size of a pencil eraser. I‘m just heartbroken as we just had this tile installed 12 days ago! Is there any way to fix this- short of replacing the tile? I‘ve already bought a rug that will cover the hole but I‘d still like to fix it if I can. Just in case we ever would like to go without a rug. Thank you!!!: You break a couple tile so that you can get under those next to it. Using a crow bar or some other tool that will allow you to pry up the surrounding tile go at it. After you have gotten a few up look for a crack in the under layment. If it's backer-board or plywood that is NOT 3/4 inch thick you may be able to pry it up and thus remove large sections of the tile still attached to the board. Take your time and you will get-er-done. Have fun.

Q:What purpose does it serve? Is it safe to assume the tile will settle half of the trowel thickness? For example, if using a 1/4 inch trowel, will the tile settle 1/8 inch when set in place? Thanks!: vinyl tile would be a lot cheaper..off the top of my head and if the place is empty and the floor that the vinyl tile is going over is in good shape,you are probably looking at around 800 dollars........ceramic maybe 3 to 4 thousand......these figures are far from exact but the vinyl tiles could probably be finished in a day,whereas, the ceramic could take 4 to 5 days in all.........

Q:I have a bathtub that the bottom row of tiles are getting loose on the top portion. A few have come out.The row above seems ok.Can the bottom row be resealed or replaced without interfering with the upper tiles?If so how?: Yes you can just be patient and remove the loose tiles which should not be hard to do. The reason that they have turned loose is because of moisture behind the tiles. Be sure you have a good stable surface for the tiles that you put back to adhere to. You may have to lay a film of masonry of something to give you a solid surface to hold the replaced tiles. As for as glue, I would use a adhesive that is called F26 and it is multipurpose to reattach the tile. I will guarantee that those tile will never come off again.

Q:What type of drill bit should I buy to cut into 4 x 4 ceramic tile on the wall? Can I place the bit into a router? The hole is 10 x 10 and I need it to be 10 1/2 x 10 1/2. There is 5/8 DW w/ metal studs behind it.: Tile Cutting Bit

Does anyone have experience with laminate tile and if so can you recommend where or what brand to look at. Also can you give me an idea of pricing..Thanks...: Laminate tile will be a better bet if you are doing it yourself. It is easier and less likely to pull up. I would go to Home Depot for it. They usually have some of the best brands. They can be anywhere from $5 for twelve tiles to however much you can imagine. Prices are drastically different in different stores and places.
