FAQ
1. For Polished Porcelain Tile, is the 30*60 available?
—— Yes, 30*60 is available. Due to the basic size is 60*60, we need to cut 60*60 tile into 30*60. 6 pcs are packed into one carton.
2. What is the MOQ for this tile?
—— Normally the MOQ is 1267.2 m2 for one 20’ container. To support our clients, we could go with 3 models to fill one container at most.
3. Can we use the carton with our own design and brand name?
—— Yes. Normally we go with Neutral Carton or our Carton with our CMAX brand name. But for carton of client’s own design, the MOQ for one size is 5 containers, due to the carton factory can’t arrange production if quantity is below 5000 pcs.
- Q:I am installing 4.5 x 4.5 porcelain tiles on a drywall kitchen backsplash. Applying Omnigrip mastic using a 1/4 x 3/16 vnotch trowel. The tiles have a waffle grid pattern on the back which is about 1/16 deep. I tested the application of one tile and noticed that the mastic did not fill all the waffle depressions. Are they supposed to be all filled? DO I have to backbutter the tiles? Am I using the correct trowel size? Please help!P.S. What is the purpose of the waffle pattern in the first place?

- Q:some brands of vitrified tiles in india?
- It will vary from any tile that is vitrified ...A vitrified tile is all in the body hardness and is more of a rating . Since it s based an water absorbtion and not a thickness.. You ll find many brands and styles of vitrified tile. These lean more towards your porcelains rather than the normal clay bodied tile. It s all in the making/ firing process than any thing else. So you ll have to check specs on the brands and type you have in India.Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there ... GL
- Q:I want to remove all the white tiles in my kitchen as some are broken, others don‘t match up and basicially who ever tiled it initially may have been intoxicated, some have come off easy, but others are stuck on tight, tried using a chisel hammer to smash them, but they would splinter and smash like glass, does anyone know a easier less messier way i can do this?
- Hopefully there is an under layment and the tile are on this. Some times getting under the under layment is easier. Use of long crow bars and a friend is easiest. Ripping it all up at once. Getting a wide masonry chisel under the tile edge will also work at times. There is no ONE way to do this, each job is different. You have to adapt and use elbow grease.. Wear SAFETY equipment. Eye wear , long sleeve shirts, gloves and ear plugs to keep out flying chips. Cover all cabinets and doorways to help keep dust at bay. Any other questions you can e mail me thru my avatar .. GL
- Q:i am getting my kitchen done over in 2 weeks cost is not a factor i cant decide to do tiles or harwood flooring which is better for the kitchen. i have two kids 2 and 5
- I am a kitchen designer and have seen so many clients go through this debate :) The problem is that every type of floor has its advantages and disadvantages. A lot of times, it really comes down to considering your lifestyle and what will be easiest for you. Tile is very durable, but will crack with time. As the house settles and the floor becomes uneven, there will be higher risk of cracking. Also if you drop something heavy on it. It is very easy to mop clean, but you do have to consider grout issues. The grout can be tough to clean if you choose a lighter color. Grout is also porous, so if you are worried about bacteria, you will have to keep up with sealing it. Hardwood is also durable, but you must be careful of water damage. If you spill water on it or have a leak under the sink, get it cleaned up as soon as you can. I don't think that means you have to mop up spills the second they hit the floor, but if there's an area in the kitchen that gets splashed a lot, you'll see the damage with time. Wood also needs to be refinished now and again, but not so frequently that it will stop you from purchasing it. There are also some really nice vinyl floors out there that look a lot like tile but are not as cold, hard and prone to cracking. However, if you drop a sharp knife on it or if a child wears soccer cleats around the kitchen, you'll see dents and punctures :) Some laminate flooring (like the brand name Pergo) have flooring that looks either like wood or tile. These floors are durable, but you'll have to beware water damage, just like with wood. This flooring is easy to install and take out. It also doesn't need to be refinished like hardwood. It's a lot to take in, but my advice is to consider the pros and cons of each, then think of your lifestyle and who lives in your house, then make a decision based on that. Good luck!
- Q:I believe the tiles were made in Mexico. They are light beige in color. They were installed in the master bathroom which has a shower stall, no bathtub.
- Seal them now. After time it doesn't matter what color the grout is it will start to discolor from dirt. By sealing it now you prevent that. It makes it easier to clean also. Read the directions on the can or bottle to see how often you have to reapply. DO NOT USE BLEACH ON YOUR FLOORS!!! It will eat away at the sealer.
- Q:How to judge the quality of tiles?
- First, look at the surface tile color Market tiles of various types, color is also a wide variety, according to the tiles of the variety and technology, tiles can be divided into anti-skid brick, polished tiles, tiles, glazed tiles, micro-brick and other types. If the quality of tiles according to the grading also has a variety of grades, mainly divided into excellent products, qualified products, and other goods. To check the quality of tiles and their own post-paste only need to be carefully observed through the problem can be found, the quality of their own tiles is relatively poor need to replace the tiles are mainly reflected in the tiles surface cracks uneven, corners are not Floor tiles, although the surface looks bright, but the glaze layer surface color problems or glaze layer or glaze layer of inclusions spots. The quality of the tiles after paving the main inspection of the overall surface of the flatness in the range of two meters is not greater than two millimeters, between the brick and brick joints are not greater than 0.5mm, seam flatness in the length of 5m No more than 3mm, if more than the above data within the range are unqualified. Second, the percussion test tiles installed with or without hollowing In the room, around the room with a small iron bar and other special inspection of the wall hollowing the tool, gently tapping the four corners of the tiles and the middle of the sound crisp no hollowing, if detected the problem of hollowing, should be marked out, Timely eradication with floor tiles. Third, in the tiles on the splashing water detection In the kitchen, the bathroom has a drainage slope requirements of the floor tiles paved tiles, in check their water is smooth, in the slope above a lot of water can be detected. After pouring water in the above, waiting for a moment, see where there is water to show that the floor tiles paved uneven, or to the water slope is not enough.
- Q:Our kitchen isn‘t that big and I hate the tile. My fiance says it‘s a huge big deal to remove the tile but not so hard to put new tile in.About how much does it run to remove tile, say from the average size kitchen.... it‘s about 7 foot by 18 feet.
- it is not the tile removing that would cost the money,it is the making good afterwards as you need a straight flat wall/floor to be able to retile it.If your tiles are sound, well stuck and not falling apart/moving then tiling on top is an option.that creates it's own problems tho,in the end edge,on a wall where the tiles just stop, you will see 2 tiles thickness as opposed to one only.If it is floor tiling you talking about then you will have a small problem by the doors, where the new tiling will be a bit higher than whatever is on the other side of the door.If the tiles are stuck on marine ply, make sure you use flexible adhesive and grout for the new tiling.
- Q:I am in the process of installing a slate floor in my mudroom. The durock has been laid, and the tiles cut and sealed, and I‘m ready to start using the medium set to secure the tiles in place, but as I‘ve never laid slate (or any tile) before, I have some questions. 1. The tiles are in place now how I want them, do I have to take up the tiles row by row before I start mortaring them in place, or can I do 1 or 2 tiles at a time?2. I laid the tiles out starting from the center and working outwards. When I lay the tiles in place do I again start at the center, or do I start from the edges, or doesn‘t it matter?3. What is the best way to prevent lippage? As this is slate there is a good amount of variation. Do I just back butter each tile so that it is as high as the highest tile in the room? How do I manage to do that properly?
- Others might disagree, but here's what I suggest: 1. I take up at least a few rows of tile at a time, carefully stacking them in order. 2. Layout should always be done using a center line. There are options for the installation: - If you carefully snap or draw lines for each row on the Durorock and do not use spacers you can start wherever you want, for example against a far wall so that you don't work your way into a corner. - If you only use a center line and rely upon spacers, then you need to start at the center. Tiles tend to drift from each other slightly when you install using spacers, so if you start in the center and work in both directions the net drift toward the edge will be half as much as it would if you work from one edge all the way to the other. - I always draw lines for each row when I do a diagonal installation. I install the longest row first and the work away from it toward the opposite corners. 3. Once I mix a batch of thinset, I don't want to fuss much with tile thickness. So before I even lay the slate tiles out on the floor I sort them from thickest to thinnest. Individual tiles often vary in thickness from one corner to the other; others might have consistent thickness but be dished (not flat). These tiles are candidates to be cut for edge pieces, or they might not be worth using at all. Anyway, I layout the tiles from thickest on one side of the room to thinnest on the other and only need to butter a thin corner of that occasional irregular tile that is pretty enough to be worth the hassle. 4. See my answer to 2.
- Q:My house decoration, the decoration division to pay in the cut tiles, the whole piece of tiles cut on both sides, the rest of the total when the waste thrown. He said it was not straight. Do not you know that you have encountered such a situation? Did he make sense? Is there any way to prove that his operation is in question? Thank you al
- Is it on the floor or on the wall? Sometimes the work is indeed necessary, but there are special circumstances, for example, master technology, but off, waste more, if it is floor tiles, the general use of cutting machine or to a professional processing plant, if it is wall tiles, But you did not say so serious, cut aside on both sides, the rest of the majority of waste, basically do the master, will not appear this situation, there is a situation that is, master and material business, good consultation, no left Bricks, so that avoid boning or owners have comments and other issues.
- Q:Marco Polo tiles have several manufacturers
- Marco Polo In fact, the quality is generally the main advertising is good they are basically in the production of others and then marked their own brand in several parts of the country have produced in Shandong, Shandong
