Q: I want to put down peel/stick vinyl tiles in my kitchen and bathroom. Both rooms have Vinyl flooring now and it's not damaged in anyway I just hate the colors. Can I put the peel/stick tiles on top of the existing floor or do I have to pull it up? Also should I use some sort of glue to add extra holding and will this kind of floor last or will it start peeling up in a few months?
We have used vinyl tiles over sheet flooring with great success in some of our rental apartments. I always use denatured alcohol to prep the floor. I also use a vinyl adhesive to stick the tiles down. Buy a trowel with the smallest notch to spread the adhesive. I have found that the higher priced tiles shrink the least over time. If you plan your layout to avoid having small pieces of tile on one side, the results will be better. I have also been finding some really good deals on laminate flooring. It is more difficult to install, but it is almost indestructable when kept dry. I also saw a job where vinyl tiles were installed in a garage floor - cars were actually on the vinyl tile floor. Looked good. I just wonder how long it will last...
Q: I want to redo my kitchen floor (ugly 1970 looking linoleum) in a 120-year old farm house. I want to do something unique that fits with a primitive look (knotty pine walls, original doors and woodwork). I have a pallet of old slate roof shingles that were salvaged from the barn when it was torn down. Most are still in very good shape and I was wondering if there was any way to incorporate this material into the flooring. Can this be used to tile the floor? I'm looking for anyone with info on using slate for flooring - pros, cons and so on. I'd also like info on recommended thickness, type of adhesive, grout, etc.? I've done ceramic tile and refinished hardwood floors, so I have some basic flooring experience. Thanks in advance for any information!
I have a slate floor and it
Q: What is the ceiling effect of the ceiling
The ceiling effect is also known as the high limit effect: when the task is required to complete the task is too easy, all the different levels (quantity) of the independent variables have achieved very good results, and there is no difference between the situation, we said that the experiment appeared high Limit effect. [Example 1] The teacher in order to test the level of student learning, and out of a paper, if the paper is too simple, the result is generally achieved a high score students. And thus can not be tested from the scores of students learning level. Then this phenomenon is called "ceiling effect". So how to avoid it? The usual method is to try to avoid the extreme reaction by experimenting with the experiment, and then try to examine their response to the task by testing a small number of pre-subjects. If the reaction of the test is close to the top or bottom of the target range, the experimental task needs to be corrected.
Q: I put down a laminate floor 1 month ago, and when I walk across most areas the joints move up and down. I had a new sub floor installed prior to the laminate so I don't believe it's a leveling issue. There is an expansion gap on all walls and I'm taking the floor up because I scratched it.Would it make sense to put PL300(prefer this for cost) or flooring glue in the joints when I relay it?Thanks.

Q: How to maintain the composite wood flooring
How to maintain the composite wood flooring
Q: Decoration to buy composite floor is good or tile it is good
Of course the floor is good, the composite floor for domestic Filinger is good, in the icon
Q: My bedroom is 110 Sq Feet(11 ft by 10 ft)I want to get floating floors-Preferable Aluminum Oxide (sp?) finish, hard surface. And if you can provide, what is the cheapest cost and where can i find it?-Pref. from someone who has purchased floating floors.Thank you.
I have installed most types of wood flooring including hardwood ,veneer, etc. whether glued, nailed or floating. Unless you live in a humid area or your bedroom is in the basement, I recommend you get flooring that can be glued or nailed down. I have seen even very expensive/professionally installed, floating floors break their seams (move apart). Price is relative, but you get what your pay for. If you put down the cheapest flooring you can buy, you are throwing your money away. I would also suggest that you avoid an aluminum oxide finish. It can ONLY be refinished by a professional, and at a higher cost than a time proven polyurethane finish, which is hard enough for any residential application.
Q: 15 square meters of the room shop the general wooden floor to how much money?
Strengthen the floor of the cheapest thirty more than one square meter, also package installed. Okay, I will not say it. Imitation wood flooring 70 per square meter, pack installed.
Q: the floor is concrete at the moment, but we cant have them far off the ground. can the boards go straight onto the concrete?
The best way to do walls or floors in the basement is to first install treated strips of wood, then add a thin type of insulated board between them to reduce moisture.
Q: I have recently moved into this house with my fiance, and our children. Well, it does not have linoleum or anything like that on the kitchen floor. The base floor, I guess you would call it... is disgusting. Black. I was wondering if it would be a mistake to mop it, or if I should get a sponge and elbow grease.?I'm going to test a small part, before doing anything, I suppose that would be my best bet. But what would I clean this with?I guess I'm just afraid the dirt will get gunky and build up more.Children are under the age of 4. And, you have to go through the kitchen in order to get to the Bathroom, I'm thinking of having them go to their Nana's for an evening and doing it?Any advise would be greatly appreciated! :)
Ok, first your land lord is super cheap. Ask him or her about paying for some peal and stick laminate floor tiles for the kitchen. They are cheap, and much cleaner then a painted sub-floor. Plus they are very easy to put in. The paint on the sub-floor should be sealed enough to allow you to mop the floor. Kitchen floors get wet, it is all part of being a kitchen, If the floor can't take being mopped, how is it going to do when you drop a cup of water on it? Just take up the gunk on the floor with some hot water, a cup of white vinegar and a drip of dish soap in a large bucket. Then mop the floor a few times. The gunk will be up, and the kids can stay home. Keep the floor as dry as possible to avoid damage.
