Q: Im thinking of mounting by living room t.v to the wall, but the only problem is the wall is plasterboard and it's pretty weak.Any solutions to this problem?Thanks: If you don't want to remove the drywall, make sure that you mount the bracket into a stud. You don't want to have to buy this TV again when it falls off the wall.

Q: My wardrobe has just collapsed and I need to install a new one as soon as possible. I am just placing a pole from either end of the wardrobe but need help installing it. Do I need to use special nails to fix wood to plasterboard (the wood will be on top and what I nail onto the existing plasterboard) because I have a feeling normal nails won't work in plasterboard. Also does anyone have any help hints on installing a new pole?Thanks for any help: most hardware stores will have closet organizing brackets you can get it iwill have a place for the rod and a place for a shelf above it . To attach it to plasterboard you need to find the wooden studs that run verticle behind the plasterboard. once you find them you can use nails or screws to hang the brackets. Are your walls plaster or are they drywall? Plaster makes it hard to find the studs if it's drywall you can hit the wall lightly with your hand and listen for the sound to change as you move down the wall When the sound changes ussually every 16 inches you are on top of the stud. To mount to a plaster wall i would use 3/8th inch by 3 inch toggle bolts You will need to drill a hole big enuf for the toggle to go through. Good Luck.

Q: when skimming walls, can you do it over backing paper or does it have to be directly on the plasterboard??: I'm no expert but would think you would need to remove backing paper before plaster goes over it , or paper will become very wet and start peeling away with plaster attached ........................... :)

Q: Gypsum board ceiling can be installed sound what Mody: absolutely okay. Gypsum board, its own rigid or can, but relatively brittle, so the general use of paper as a strengthening. Good also useful built-in glass fiber. But the latter price is more expensive. General recommendations, because the speaker in the work will cause vibration, including gypsum board also bear the speaker's own gravity. Therefore, in the installation of the board position, the need to do wood or metal bracket to enhance its stability in the speaker work, does not cause the gypsum board vibration and make the board easy to crack, and also can avoid resonance caused by noise.

Q: I need to repair several plasterboard walls that have holes with plugs left in them. What is the quickest / easyiest way to do this: light weight Spackle sold at home improvement store, then match texture let dry prime and paint 2 coats of paint if you want to do it right way paint the whole wall.)

Q: y good?: The spray in foam sounds great,, BUT it's not cheap and here is the REAL PROBLEM. If your house ever gets a leak, the foam will not absorb the water, nor will the aluminum. If there is any wood in the walls, it will absorb the water. If the leak is not detected, the wood will eventually start to rot. If the wood is a structural member of your home,things will start to fall apart. This may take awhile, but it will show It's ugly head and by the time it does, it may be too late to save it.

Q: vapour control plasterboardextra durable plasterboard...?: you would not require vapour control plasterboard as this is only really required where there is a build up of steam , i would go for extra durable.

Q: is plasterboard and gyprock the same material and is it used for walls and ceilings.?: Gyprock is a brand of plasterboard. Yes, you use it for walls and ceilings. For floors you need a stronger particle board.

Q: there are a lot of mice in my area, my cats are forever catching and killing them. my neighbour has had them inside her house (she has no cats). last night both my cats were upstairs, staring at the wall. i put them out when i went to bed and then heard all this scratching in the wall behind my bed. its a plasterboard wall filled with insulation and doesnt lead anywhere else, unless they've chewed their way thru the ceiling or chipboard floor. why on earth wud mice come in when they cant get food??? and how the heck do i get them out without making holes in the wall?: It's probably just because they're looking for somewhere warm and safe. They're obviously not the SMARTEST animals, so they don't connect that cats live inside the house, only that there are no cats inside the walls. You should probably call a professional, I wouldn't try getting them out myself.
