Q: Home furnishings commonly used gypsum board how much size? how much is it? Which brand is best?: Home furnaces gypsum board generally have two kinds of sizes, one is 2440MM * 1220mm another is 2400mm * 1200mm. Which is divided into two kinds of gypsum board, one is gypsum board, one is calcium silicate board. The strength of the gypsum board and moisture and water resistance are not as good as calcium silicate board, but with silicon calcium board and no paper panel sound and environmental protection. (Calcium calcium board with asbestos) so it is recommended home improvement is gypsum board. The general market is relatively large amount of paper gypsum board brand is Shandong Taishan and OKorder's dragon card. Cheap 20 or so look like, your point between 30-35.

Q: my bedroom walls are drylined ,is there a way of soundproofing without removing the plasterboard?: Without a major renovation job, an old cheap method of sound proofing is to use the large 50+ softcardboard egg trays, fixed like wall and ceiling tiles to function all the wall & ceiling surface must be covered, as well as the back of the door.

Q: i want to build a night club but want to keep the building costs low what material could i place inbetween the plaster board and the brick walls? hmmmm had a thought you guys tell me if you think this will work ... say i had plasterboard then a 1-2 inch gap of air then corrugated pvc sheet type roofing so they reflect the sound waves away from the wall and then normal loft type insulation on the back of that im also going to angle the walls downwars slightly should also make the room look cooler if done right any other ideas would be grately appreciated :): I've heard that cork board is a great sound barrier and blocks out or in sounds. I've heard that it will absorb the sound.

Q: What distance do the dry wall screws have to be and what do i fill the joint gaps with before plastering. Is there a british standard ?: I would nail it with sheetrock nails.......but if you are pounding on someone else's half of the wall I would use sheet rock screws. You can put one in about every 8 across a stud. Try not to break the paper. For the joints instead of paper tape I use fiberglass self sticking tape.........it's usually blue or yellow and mud right over it. If you are going to plaster it well that's the same tape but a little different application of the mud. I just hand texture the mud and do a knock down trowel finish.......it looks nice.......and is fairly simple to do.

Q: Back blocking does not seem possible when the walls are clad first Similarly can I join fibre cement sheeting on a stud: Fastening to any solid lumber is preferred. As long as they are flush with the studding, I don't see the issue.

Q: can you tile ceramic tiles on plasterboard?: Yes you can. First clean the area with TSP and then a coat of water-based primer.

Q: I'm renovating a 110year old end terrace. Plaster is all off right back to brick and I'm re plastering myself when the time comes. I took a professional quote and the contractor said that for the external facing walls, because I've stripped it all back, I'd need to use insulated plasterboard to conform to building regs??? Is this true? If so what is the minimum standard?: Only your local code enforcement officer can answer your question properly. Any other answer is just a guess.

Q: Im going to put up plasterboard for the first time and was told their is some kind of Adhesive to hold plasterboard on wall. It sounds easier than nails or screws because its onto a brick wall.Thanks.: I think i saw some at the home depot the last time i went. check it out
