- Q: I am aware that naturally occurring rust is iron oxide and the iron involved is a Fe(III) with a plus 3 charge. How are you able to produce ferrous oxide or Fe(II)O with the iron having a plus 2 charge? Is the iron(II) a low abundance isotope of iron and where could you possibly find this in nature or how could you experimentally produce that specific iron?
- Naturally occurring rust is actually hydrated iron(III) oxide, either Fe(OH)3 in water or FeO(OH) in temperate air. Fe2O3 is actually dehydrated rust. The formation of rust requies not only oxygen, but water, as well. 4Fe(s) + 3O2(g) + 2H2O(l) -- 4FeO(OH)(s) Iron can form various iron(II) oxides on the way to FeO(OH), but they would only be intermediate products. The isotope of iron will have little to no impact on the ultimate oxidation product. Iron-56 makes up almost 92% of stable Fe atoms. All of the isotopes of iron have the same electron arrangement, and therefore, the same chemistry.
- Q: I am looking for a flat iron and I would like to see which is the best of the best.I would also like another like to know the best inexpensive flat irons. Thanks for the help!
- ya, front end inspection for sure, ball joints ??
- Q: So I am trying to increase my iron levels as I have to give blood soon. Well I picked up an iron supplement and I took one. Well I just realized that it has 65 mg of iron in one pill. Why would they sell these if toxicity is over 50mg. Am I gonna be okay?
- It is great that you are giving blood. However, unless you are suffering from iron deficiency anemia, no amount of iron is going to increase your hemoglobin count. You could take iron after the event, to speed up recovery, but most people do not have a problem in getting back to a normal level. 65mg of elemental iron ( usually in salt of iron about 300mg ) is the treatment dose for simple anemia. Toxic levels for an adult male start at about 700mg of elemental iron daily. If your hemoglobin level is normal, you need no more than 20mg daily for good health. Plenty of foods contain iron including green vegetables and liver
- Q: can I still exercise with low iron or will I pass out. Iron is 13 (norm 20-150)? I need to lose like 40lbs this year!Thank you
- take an iron supplement. Increase iron through foods like broccoli and green leafy vegies. Don't exercise to the point where you feel lightheadedness, you will pass out and can really hurt yourself. Tips on loosing weight: cut out regular sodas (if you drink sodas, that is the same as eating 10-15 teaspoons of table sugar in each 12 ounce can). start walking (increase distance every week). drink plenty of water (2-3 liters a day). eat a variety of fresh fruits and vegies. snack on fruits and vegies instead of chips, cookies, etc Good luck to you.
- Q: Hi, I just got a temp. job ironing bedding, curtains and stuff like that. I have a little knowledge on this, but I need to know how to deal with different fabrics such as silk. What are mandatory things I should know so I do this correctly? Any help or advice about ironing would be great.
- Copper pipe was used a lot in drainage in the past. It still meets todays codes also. PVC pipe is cheaper thats why it is used today. Depending where the leak is you can do a quick fix with epoxy. You will need to use a wire brush to clean the area where the epoxy will be. Also make sure and dry the area with a rag before the epoxy is applied. You can get this at any lumber yard.
- Q: How can ductile iron pipes be connected to steel tubes?
- But pay attention, because ductile iron pipe material is crisp, and the two connecting flange sealing surface is best all the plane, in order to prevent the uneven force and damage to cast iron flange.
- Q: i heard iron pills can kinda help you concive or well have a better chance of getting pregnant faster. is this true. another thing.i have low iron could that have mabye had an impacted on my misscarrage and having an irregular perion and have a hard time on ttc??????any advice would be great!!!!thanksmisscarred at 6 weeks soppose to take iron pills but havent
- Low iron wouldn't have impacted you in terms of having a miscarriage. (unless it was REALLY low but that's incredibly rare) And iron doesn't up your chances of conceiving either. However, I agree with everyone else in that you need to get your iron situation under control before TTC another child. I had a problem with iron supplements and taking a prenatal vitamin. (Too much iron makes you constipated) so My dr. recommended taking two flintstone vitamins instead. Works great!! Good luck!
