- Actually High iron can kill it just takes a long time. It interferes with the liver. Causes it to enlarge this will cause undue stress on surrounding organs. If you took extra iron your liver would keep some and pass the rest, but it would build up. I have a enlarged liver and I retain Iron. I actually give blood to reduce the amount of iron in my blood. You couldn't die quickly from and Iron Overdose unless we're talking an Anvil to the Head. Desert.A fellow Epicurian!
