Q: I am installing chainlinnk fence 4' high and I am traying to figure how much cement is needed per post? I am putting them about 15quot; deep.: I'm not why people feel the need to use so much concrete. I put in a fence using NO concrete. I used a large hammer ( or small sledge ) to drive the poles into the ground. I put them as deep as I could ( 18 ) and cut off the top couple of inches that was damaged from hammering. Attach the top runner pipes, then attached the fencing. That fence was still there 10 years later when I moved. The only need for concrete is to keep the poles from being pulled up. You know something....I've never seen a dog pull a fence up at the poles. If you feel the need...then concrete every other one.

Is the controlled variable the quality of the carpet: Your independent variable is the thing that changes, which is the surface the ball is bounced on (like cement or carpet, but not just one of those) Your dependent variable is the variable that is effected by the independent variable, so the height that the ball bounces. Your controlled variable is the thing that does not change, the constant, so that would be your ball. Tips: for a good experiment, you should have more than 2 things in the the independent variable, so you should try other surfaces as well such as wood. I really have no experience lately, but recall my kids using glue sticks to achieve results in certain projects. Perhaps the more important question might be... Also the USE of or more... the ABUSE of, substances in school age youth, aren't strictly initiated with intent. The youth of today however, do have a greater sense of what substances might affect what situation or SENSE within their own bodies. I want to believe you're not old enough to recall school paste, and the fact that some students ingested it. Your major goal in this seems to me, to be one, of obtaining a list of APPROVED materials and substances,,, or at the very least; investigating those, on your own, as a CARING teacher, and perhaps submitting the list/ your list, to the school administration. Q: Someone I hired to do my walkway used cement to rentrain the pavers edge, instead of edge restrainters. I found it very strange. I even pointed it out to him. He said it ok. Who am i do defy an experient brazilian mason.The cement is now cracking. My brand new walkway will not make thru the winter. I have already started my complain process.: martin couch's answer is good. Edge Retainer (Curbing) This concrete should have at least one rebar running through the centre of it lengthwise.. Also about every 10 feet (3 metres) should have a stress cut.slot filled with a meterial that will keep expand and compress. These stress cuts control cracking most of the time. This edging will crack; without the stress cuts, it will crack anywhere. With the stress cuts most of the cracking will be at the cuts which will not be noticeable. About every 30 feet (9 metres), instead of a stress cut, the concrete should have a piece of tar impregnated tentest or other material to act a an expansion joint. This helps to prevent buckling when the weather is very hot. Brazilian or not, he should know the proper way to construct curbing. One point to note; if you had this job quoted on (estimates) and hired a contractor with a price much lower than anyone else, you received what you paid for. All quotes should be within approximately 10% of each other as long as you gave each contractor the same specs. An estimate which is 15% or more below the rest is one to defininately one to avoid

Q: what's the difference between cement and mortor mix?: Come on guys...cement is cement...no kidding! Cement is the binding agent in concrete and mortar. (I know lime can be used to, but I like cement better) So, your mortar would be made of cement, fine aggregate (sand), and water. Now, if you are asking the difference between concrete and mortar, the main difference is the coarse aggregate (stone). But of course there are a lot of variables that come into play that will affect the true answer to your question... Oh, one last thing...cement and concrete can't be used interchangeable in a sentence. Cement is an ingredient to concrete.

Q: where do you buy dental cement?: the dentist told me that they use super glue. i tried it on a cracked tooth cuz i couldnt get in till the next week and it held. not only did it hold but it held so good the dentist had trouble getting it off. She said its not toxic unless swallowed. We use a formof it for cuts in the hospital. there are videos on line on how to do it right. it works. the stuff in the store doesnt work very well.
