Q:A 3000-lb wrecking ball hangs from a 40-ft cable of density 10 lb/ft attached to a crane. Calculate the work done if the crane lifts the ball from ground level to 40 ft in the air by drawing in the cable.
The total work done by the crane equals the potential energy gained by the wrecking ball and the cable; the potential energy gained is W = V_final = Mg L + ρ L g L/2 which is the final potential energy of the wrecking ball and the cable added together. In the case of the cable, you take the center of mass of it which is located right at the center (L/2). The result is then W = 3000*32*40 + 10 * 40 * 32 * 40 / 2 = 4096000 ft-lbf = (4096000)*(0.001285067) BTU = 5263.63 BTU
Q:I was wondering if anyone knows what period this book is set in? I know that it's set in the slums of New York and the story was published in 1893. But what time period does the story actually take place?
I studied in in university - it's contemporary to when it was written, so it may as well be set in 1893. Crane was in his early 20's when he wrote it. He was addressing a societal issues of the day, particularly living in the slums of New York and the shift in American culture/economy from primarily agricultural to industrial. It addressed poverty, disaease, social ills and the dreariness of poor city life. The book was quite controversial when it first came out.
Q:what type of hydraulic oil does a 2007 liebherr LTM 1160 5.1 crane take?
You're telling me you've been entrusted the control of a crane capable of reaching 565 feet up an you don't know what hydraulic oil it takes?? Jesus Christ mighty... First off, it's in the owners manual, second off it's probably on the resivoir cap.... If you couldn't figure that out you shouldn't be allowed near the damn thing...
Q:What are the requirements for the use of an anti-two block device on a lattice boom crane used as a drill?
Any modifications to a crane or other hoisting device should be checked with the manufacturer or designed by an Engineer schooled in the proper discipline IE: not an electrical or nuclear engineer.
Q:I have tried so many times to make that crane, and i always fail. Can anyone give me a video that is really good, or instructions that are really good and have pics? Thanks in advance!

Q:Was it Ichabod Crane or Rory Emerald who got the jeepers creepers scared out of them by a headless horseman?
Ahh.. I love it. Ian Dury's words came to mind. Noel Coward was a charmer. As a writer he was drama. Velvet, jackets and pyjamas, The gay divorce and other dramas. There ain't half been some clever bastards (Lucky bleeders, lucky bleeders) There ain't half been some clever bas-tards. Van Gough did some eyeball pleasers. He must have been a pencil squeezer. He didn't do the Mona Lisa, That was an Italian geezer. There ain't half been some clever bastards (Lucky bleeders, lucky bleeders) There ain't half been some clever bas-tards. Einstein can't be classed as witless. He claimed atoms were the littlest. When you did a bit of splittemness, Frighten everybody shitless. There ain't half been some clever bastards. Probably got help from their mum (who had help from her mum). There ain't half been some clever bastards. Now that we've had some, let's hope that there's lots more to come.
Q:I had this dream where I was watching a flock of Sandhill Cranes on a road. Cars were swerving to avoid them, but one sporty red car lost control and smashed into a brick wall, killing some of the birds. The rest of the cranes started freaking out, flapping their wings and coming towards me. They were so frightened that they started to defecate too. Soon though, there was so much bird poop that it became like a river ready to engulf me. It was like a glowing white too (really weird, I know). Then, their legs turned into human legs, and the cranes turned into tall, beautiful humans with wings - angels, I think. These beings radiated power and filled me with terror as they approached. They must have been 8 feet tall and they towered over me. One red-headed angel looked at me when he passed, and I was so terrified that I woke up.Any ideas about what this could mean? It's one of the most powerful dreams I've ever had.
First of all, to see a crane in your dream, represents happiness, maternal love, and your gestures of good will. You look out for those who are near and dear to you. Alternatively, a crane signifies tact, immortality or vigilance. Furthermore, dreaming of an angel can mean two things. Purity, protection, comfort and consolation. Pay careful attention to the message that the angels are trying to convey. These messages serve as a guide toward greater fulfillment and happiness. Alternatively, it signifies an unusual disturbance in your soul. Angels may appear in your dream as a result of your wicked and mean-hearted activities.
Q:will give you a wishor help your marraige succeedjust curious as to peoples thoughts?thanks lt;3 abby
no the only thing that does is make your hands sore
Q:If so, what time of year?
oops, sorry, I had read crane flights. Crane flies - what we call 'cousin' or 'tipule' - are quite common in the Rhone valley, including Lyon though not as common as their dreaded relatives the mosquitos. They usually go dormant in winter as it is quite cold in Lyon during that time. They are harmless to Humans, even if they look terrifying but are a nightmare to gardeners. Edited: Wise Owl, I have lived in Lyon as well and I have seen them often enough to find it usual, though not every day of the week. However I lived near the Tête d'Or Park so the greenery might have had an influence on their presence here.
Q:Please help me on this question, I can't seem to find it anywhere on the internet! :(
No animals depend on Siberian crane but they are a source of food to carnivores in the wild. They are usually secondary source because there are mroe source of food that carnivores could eat.SO if they are extinct,it would not be a problem...its only destroying natures beauty!
