Q: I‘m gutting my bathroom and will be tiling the floor and then adding a new vanity and a new toilet. The question is, do you tile before you put in the toilet and new vanity or do you put in these items first and then tile around them? Concrete slab foundation that I‘m currently working on leveling.
Definitely before. Its just the right way, and anyway you'd have to do a lot more intricate cuts to make it look right. Also, mark where the vanity will sit and just go a couple of inches underneath and you can save a few tiles. After Diy Doc's answer, let me add that if you finish and didn't break too many tiles cutting them and have the extras, by all means fill in under the vanity the next day if you want. I just didn't want you to run short. Thanks Doc
Q: How to remove the 502 glue on the tile
With banana water can be washed away. Hope to help you, hope to adopt!
Q: Looking for ceramic wall tile decorated in 24 karat gold designs
most rich folks just tell their interior designer to locate them
Q: HiIs there an adhesive that can be used to spot repair Vinylfloor tiles 18x18 on a basment floor?
I definitely think that it is. A basement does not have to be as decked out as the rest of the house although it can be. There are really nice vinyls now a days that you can choose from so take your time and research well before you purchase. You will be glad that you didn't spend an arm and a leg and still got something nice. Hope this helps and God Bless!
Q: Can you give me your opinion? White beveled subway tiles with dark gray marble floors, or mahogany brown large rectangular floors with matching size walls in beige tile? I was thinking of adding a glass border for accent, the tile store lady told me to put it up high, one right below the last cut of tiles as opposed to between the faucet and mirror. Do I still stick with the white toilets and bathtub? PLEASE help! Thanks
This is a beautiful piece. If you want a bright atmosphere, the dark floor might be too overwhelming. Have you considered floor tile in the green shade of the sink? Gray is a popular color right now and would match nicely with the green. I would go with green floor tiles with a gray tile here and there. The opposite on the walls, gray with green dispersed throughout. As for the glass accent, the woman at the store is a great resource. Can the glass be tinted in a darker color to bring in the richness of the cabinet? White toilet and tub never go out of style and if you want to remodel in the future, they will still stand the test of time. I moved into a 70's era mobile home a few years ago. The tub, sink and toilet were blue. I did not have the finances to replace any of these. My solution was to decorate around them to look like the blue color was my intent. These are just a few ideas. I can see you have good taste and I hope you enjoy the process.
Q: A roofing tile falls from rest off the roof of a building. An observer from across the street notices that it takes 0.32 s for the tile to pass between two windowsills that are 3.49 m apart. How far is the sill of the upper window from the roof of the building?
Called Vx the speed the tile has reached in free falling mode at the upper window's sill span = 3.49 = (Vx+(Vx+g*t)/2*t 6.98 = 2Vx*0.32+9.8*0.32^2 5.976 = 0.64Vx Vx = 5.976/0.64 = 9.34 m/sec (tile speed at the sill of the upper window) falling time tf = Vx/g = 9.34/9.8 = 0.953 sec (from roof to the sill of the upper window) h = 1/2gt^2 = 4.9*0.953^2 = 4.45 m h = Vx^2/2g = 9.34^2/19.6 = 4.45 m
Q: We had a piping problem in out house and we need to find self stick tiles. We honestly cant find any good places to find these tiles. If anyone can give good suggestions on where to find some self stick tiles? I live in dearborn Michagan.
The tiles you seek can be found at any home improvement and carpeting store. Self-stick tiles are nice but they require perfect preparation before you attempt to lay them. Anything less than that will disappoint you when the tiles start lifting or they develop ugly peaks and valleys from the foot traffic. Good luck with your project.
Q: Such as the brand, from which aspects to identify the quality of tiles and so on.
Vuitton Fort tile quality and cheap you can refer to
Q: This tile in my kitchen became loose a while ago and today I decided to try to fix it but not sure what to do. As you can see from the image link, a fair amount of concrete has come off with the tile. I suppose I can‘t re-use this tile. I have a spare one available. What I need to know is what product do I use to fill in the hole? Should I try to get out all the old concrete stuff first?
Sockies, this is actually an easy repair. The first responder suggested liquid nails. Don't even consider that. If you have a matching tile available, use that in lieu of trying to clean off the tile. First off, it looks like the tile came loose based the non-continuous thinset on the bottom of the tile. If that is the case (which is probably the cause), you want to fill in under the tile with thinset, so the entire area where the tile sets is filled solid from the sub-floor to approx. 1/8 below the bottom of the surrounding tiles. You should remove the existing thinset where the tile will set. You can do this with a brick or masonry chisel. If a little remains at the perimeter, that will be fine. Trying to remove all of it flush with the surrounding tiles may result in loosening additional tiles. You don't want that. Allow about 5-6 hours for that to set (harden) enough to set the tile. You don't make it flush because you will spread additional thinset on the underside of the tile to set it. Use a 3/8 notched trowel to spread the thinset on the entire surface of the bottom of the tile. Place the tile keeping an even spacing from the tile to the surrounding tiles You want the grout joints to be the same size all around. Press down over the entire surface of the tile to ensure it embeds completely and is flush with the surrounding tiles. Allow it to set overnight and remove any thinset that will impede the grout from obtaining 1/4 depth. It's not necessary to make the grout the full depth of the tile. It's imperative to remove any loose grout prior to grouting. That's it. I suggest buying thinset that comes in the bag that you mix with water. Don't make it too soupy when you mix it. The thinset and grout need to (what's called) slake during the mixing process. It simply means you mix it, allow it to set 5 minutes and remix it, and it's ready to use. The bag will have those instructions on the back.
Q: should I clean the tiles in my basement or is there not worry about it? Thanks
in my case, i like the basement to be kept dry and empty. what is so valuable about ceiling tile? you can keep them outside the house, they are part of garbage. if you want to repair the roof, buy new tile because of color matching. ceiling tile is porous and a good hiding place of germs. germs travel throughout the house from the basement because the house is warm
