Q: outside our shower the floor has gotten wet some, and over time it has begun to wet the floor. now, the floor creaks some, and i think the particle board has gotten wet underneath. is there any way to dry this or help to remedy this process without actually replacing the floor? thanks
Sorry, but if it’s particle board and it has gotten wet over time …..most likely it is ruined
Q: Hi, I had too much heavy stuff in a closet and now the floor is sagging in the middle. Is there any cheap and fast way to fix this?
If the floor is sagging that means the support structure is damaged or missing. If you cannot get at it from underneath you're going to have to remove the floor planks and maybe the sub-floor in order to repair or replace the support. In a small area such as a closet you may be able to get away with placing new oak planks oriented 90 degrees to the old floor. However, this will raise the floor and may interfere with the door and saddle.
Q: it is in my bathroom and it is so stuck to the floor i can't get some of it up. any advise? thanks
You will probably need a razor floor scraper that may be purchased at Home Depot. One is made by Qep. It's about $30 but well worth it. If the floor is wood, you don't want to use this, use a wedge scraper. If the floor is concrete, use the razor, fill any chips with floor leveling compound. When complete, re-floor.

Q: The floor is buckling up in one spot even though the floor is brand new. I believe the pieces may not be staggared enough to give it the strength to keep it from buckling up. I believe I can re-use alot of the pieces. I think I may have to pull up the floor and reinstall. any other suggestions?
different than gluing the chips returned in place, the subsequent genuine looking answer is to deconstruct the floor to the chipped products and rearrange the tiles with the chips someplace no longer interior the middle, or replace them altogether. If counters have been positioned on top of the floor, this could be a lot tougher.
Q: I used to live in an South American country and I moved to Canada. I need to know why aren't there holes on the bathroom floors in Canadian bathrooms? Where is the water supposed to go if I have to clean the floor? Should I just wait for it to evaporate? Also every time a toilet clogs, it leaks downstairs (in every single building I have seen, and at least two of them are very very new). Is this normal? Will it leak also when washing the bathroom floor??
I live in the US and we don't have holes in our floors. Use a mop and soak up the water.
Q: We are dealing with bouncy floors in our mobile home. We pulled up carpet and padding and tried to pull up the plywood and it will not come up easy. My husband thinks that the plywood is glued to whatever is under there (after we removed nails etc it won't budge) Is it okay to lay an outdoor grade plywood sheet over the areas and do we lay the new plywood on the exact same spots or stagger them? Also, nails or screws to hold it down? Thanks!!
I have the same problem. After pulling up the pad I could see stains that could of came from pet urine.I kilz/sealed the old plywood before I applied my second layer of plywood. I suggest going over the existing floor. You may have to trim the jambs and doors down though. You should be able to see the original plywood seams,I would stagger the seams and joints. This will keep air from entering or escaping from the same joints. I would glue and nail my new OSB/Plywood.Of course you should find floor joist layout first and cut sheets accordingly.Nailing would be faster if using an air nailer.Ring shank nails should be used.Screws have the tendency to snap and break.Glue will help bond the layers together to avoid squeaks.
Q: My name is Brittany and I work for my dads business Cleaner Image Marble. I can't help but notice there are so many questions on how to clean your marble floors? I can tell you that if you are lost and you think you have to replace your floor...DON'T!

Q: The kitchen floor is all tiles or whatever a kitchen floor is supposed to be.
Its doubtful that precise urine is on the partitions, its on the whole just smell. You can also simply need to stay up for wall odors to fade. A new coat of paint will help. Now, for the floors, in the event you are not able to wash the smell out, you need to don't forget new carpeting and/or linoleum. It could most often use an replace anyway. If the scent is in the subflooring, there are chemicals you can placed on the spots so that it will consume the enzymes within the urine, and they'll eliminate the odor. Then, before you put down carpet, call around a find some incorrectly combined paint (so its quite low-cost,) or a habitat for humanity retailer for inexpensive paint, and paint the subfloors. This may increasingly make them the place they is not going to get water broken you probably have a leak sometime, and it'll hold your subfloors from absorbing spills and such. Don't be involved about color of paint, as it's going to be protected along with your flooring masking and never visible.
Q: putting Allure vinyl floating floor in kitchen. removed old stick on tiles, now sub-floor is sticky.
I have put the allure down on a few different jobs and have been pretty impressed so far. I would just put a sound deadening pad underneath it. It comes in rolls and you get what you pay for quality wise. It is sold in the flooring department, and a good one will cost about 45 cents a square foot. Just duct tape the seams, no need to staple down, and lay your floating floor over the top.
