- We bought a Kirby and the demo was great, we bought some attachments (which we NEVER used) and had it about 2 years. It was heavy and took up space since it had all the attachments. It was the worst investment I have ever made. After the kirby we bought a Hoover bagless for about 300.00, and have had it ever since (about 3 years). It still works like it did the first day we bought it! I would not recommend the Kirby, save your money, buy a Hoover and take a small vacation with the rest...

- I have a Dyson vacuum and it was worth every penny. I have a toddler and two dogs in the house, so it gets used a lot! I vacuumed with the old vacuum, and then vacuumed again with the new Dyson vacuum and it picked up a whole canister of gunk. It is the first bagless vacuum that I have ever had that did not start to lose suction quickly. The hose is in the handle, which is very handy and the whole vacuum is very light weight.

- It's not you personally it is the brands you are purchasing, especially Hoover this brand is very cheaply made, try purchasing a different brand try maybe Panasonic upright, I have had this brand of vacuum for about ten years now and have had wonderful service out of it and it has been the most powerful easy light vacuum I have ever owned and longest lasting by far, and the best feature of all is it's maneuverability My mother has had Hoovers and she has had the worst luck with them too so you see it is not you and you are not jinxed Good Luck !

- Get a Dyson. They are the best vaccume cleaners iv'e ever seen. i have one. i've had it for 4 years and it still sucks things up great. it's not all that noisy, and it gets the job done and then some. they are kind of expensive,but it is defiently worth it. I HIGHLY RECOMEND GETTING ONE!

- The vacuum cleaner operates through the hose. If you remove the hose you can add attachments for cleaning crevices and upholstery. The floor part of the vacuum will have no suction. When you replace the hose you will have suction through the vacuum part and you can use it for carpets and rugs.
