Q: I have ceramic tile throughout home and in kitchen around one tile the grout or whatever the stuff is between the tile has crumbled and is getting bigger. Can i seal it myself, with what? or do i need to hire a stud to fix it?
you can go and get it at lowes or home deport and sealing it is like cleaning your windows it is very easy to do, but if you still want a stud just call me
Q: It has been installed on a concrete slab for about five months now, could the slab not have cured right or is the tile layed wrong?
probably there was dirt or something under the tile proir the installation. or the adhesive was not put on properly. you will need to remove the tile, clean the floor completely and re install, and re grout.
Q: Dose anyone know any decorative tile srtists?
Check on line or at a tile store. Have fun
Q: is it better to rent a wet saw, or will a tile cutter be less expensive and less messy
Wet saws can be messy. That's what I use. The other tile cutters will sometimes break in the wrong place. I would prefer to use a wet saw, messy or not.
Q: I have this ceramic tile in my bathroom (on the wall, not the floor). There is absolutely nothing wrong with it, except it is an incredibly ugly color. I would like to paint it, rather than rip it all down just to put up more tile. Any suggestions?
No....it's not porous so there is nothing for the paint to stick to.

Q: I just replaced the riser rail in our electric shower, but the fittings were slightly different, so now I have 2 bare holes in the tiles. Should I be concerned about moisture getting into the wall, and if so what‘s the best way to fill these holes? Would polyfilla be enough?
Since this is now a hole you don t want to use any grout or thin set since these are cement based and will wick water through the hole. Tile caulk which you can get to compliment the tile or grout color is just ok to but I don t suggest these types of caulks. They are silicone and latex based and are water soluble. Best thing to use is a pure silicone caulk. Unless your tiles are white a clear caulk would look the best just to hide the holes . Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there. GL
Q: i have vinyl tile in my dinning room(high traffic) its new but its not brillant ,and i saw a mantenance guy last night in wallmart using a buffer machine to pollish the tile..my question what kind of pad the used?they use any quimical with this pad?..how often this treatment its needed?
Getting the old tiles up would be a chore. as quickly as you have them bumped off and the floor prepped for the vinyl tiles, mark out the development with chalk line. consistently attempt and have all your cuts on the least considered nook or wall. additionally degree for the midsection of the room and commence there so with any luck the tiles are almost even on the partitions. you will additionally choose for to get vinyl adhesive. The tiles won't arise without it, yet they do tend to slip around whilst setting up them. And a foul seem or nook can throw off the finished factor and seem adverse. in simple terms wait and notice and make the effort.
Q: It‘s something I really want to do, I find myself longing for it often. Tile or ceramic, not sure yet. But, my house is 1485 square feet and I‘m wondering if anyone has a ball park estimate for what price range I‘m looking at! I know different variables like tile vs ceramic, etc, but just looking for a range if anyone can help. Thanks!
i am doing the same thing and my house is also 1485 sq ft 4 bed room 1 bth living room and kitchen and u dont want to know the price , i checked with lowes and for slate tiles for my kitchen it will cost over 1000.00 for my kitchen , 12x16 room minus where the cabinets are at they said u have to put down a cement like glue then put down a cement like board then the tiles and grout , the 1000.00 is only for the supplies not the labor , for ur other rooms hard wood would cost less than tile or new carpet
Q: I just finished my bathroom but when i used the oil based kilz there was a little spray back that landed on the tile floor.
Depending on the type of tile you might be able to use a sharp knife (exacto or paring knife) and gently remove the spots. If you have any kind of ceramic tile that would work (in my experience) except perhaps on the grouted areas. If you have grout and the Kilz is in/on the grout you might have to actually scrape some of the grout off and then reseal the grout. Good luck. It's laborious work but it should work. If you have linoleum tile I wouldn't do that because it might remove the finish. The next time you go to the paint dept. at the store ask them how to do it if you haven't solved the problem
