- Q: I have a girl that I like in the Ukriane, but every time I call her from my home phone line to her mobile phone! She can barely hear me, I experianced this same problem with another person but then we tried having me make a phone call from my home in Ohio, to their home int he Ukriane and I heard them pretty well! with no problems! What's going on with this, is this on my end or their end on why they can hardly hear me! It seems to always happen when I call European mobile phones in particular, or do you think it is my phone at home! Bu that wouldn;t make sense on why I can hear them fien when I call from my house to their house! Can anyone help, comments would greatly be appreicated?
- It is a bit complicated, but to summarize: When you call from your home to her home, your long distance carrier routes the call over the international trunk lines, through the telco in Ukraine, and directly to her home phone. When you call to her mobile phone, the call takes the same route, but the telco in Ukraine routes the call to her mobile carriers central call center, and then the call has to be searched in Ukraine to find her phone and the call is carried over their cellular network which may involve routing it through several different carriers (cellular) and connections (landline telcos), depending on where she is and what company her mobile service is with. Interconnects between carriers in Ukraine are very poor (they route competitors calls through the worst lines, to obtain more direct customers). Depending on who your phone company uses to carry international calls to Europe, the quality of the call might be better or worse. A call through a calling card is usually as you experience. Redialing may make her hear you, but you do not hear her. In my experience, direct dialed calls through Vonage are usually good in both directions at a reasonable price (16 cents a minute). QWest direct dialed call to a mobile in Ukraine is usually very good (but very expensive - 26 cents a minute). A good calling card (about 50% chance of a good connection) is the Continental card from phonecards.waytorussia (at 11 cents a minute) - and it allows her to call you for the same price via sms callback (and the connection that way is very good).
- Q: I am planning a trip to Malaysia and Taiwan this summer, and I?d love to buy a new phone there. But will it work at Czech Republic (Europe) with T-Mobile sim- card in it? And is it really cheaper to buy it there? THX
- Yes, its cheaper for you to buy phone in Malaysia and Taiwan, where Malaysia is approx. 10 to 20% cheaper than in Taiwan. Your phone should work with any sim-card, including your sim-card from T-Mobile. But for that, you have to purchase a phone without any telco contract and you have to buy from indepedent phone sellers at their shops and its easy to find in Malaysia and less so in Taiwan. As for whether it will work in Czech Republic, you should consult T-mobile and not the handphone seller, cause its more towards the service provider on its roaming network connectivity, rather than the connectivity of the mobile phone. Consult T-Mobile for more detail about it.
- Q: im getting a new phone. but don't know which is the best. whats your favorite t-mobile phone ? (:
- i okorder
- Q: I just got the virgin mobile wild card so that wen i go to canada for a bus trip to see some hockey i can text and IM does anyone know if a US virgin mobile phone will work in canada at all???
- Maybe A Virgin Mobile Phone will work in Canada, but you will be responsible for roaming charges. Also many prepaid services do not allow roaming. So it's better to ask Virgin Mobile. When you are on prepaid, your calling area is limited. With a contract, you are allowed to use the roaming agreements that your service provider has with international phone companies. If you have a contract: yes If you are going prepaid: maybe (call them) The best thing is to go to canada, and get a prepaid plan from a local provider eg. Rodgers. Just buy a cheapo phone for $20-$30 dollars. I took my Verizon and ATT phone to Canada and they both worked fine. (Both are on contracts.)
- Q: How does a mobile come to know that which operator is meant for it. What exactly happens and how a mobile phone attach to the network. How it is different if the mobile is in roaming area?
- A cell phone network is made up of the cell phones themselves, base stations, and the mobile switching center (MSC) hardware which does call routing, etc. The base stations (cell towers) are always broadcasting out control signals that contain a System ID (SID) and how it expects cell phones to identify themselves. When you power up a cell phone, it hears this and registers with the nearest base station and your cell phone sends its Mobile ID Number. This Mobile ID Number is more than just your cell phone number, it also contains its own system ID (SID) number, and it also contains the ESN, Electronic Serial Number that identifies that specific phone. If the base station's SID and cell phone's SID match, then the phone is on its home network. If not, then you are roaming and connect to another provider's network, usually for additional charges. Your phone usually can hear multiple cell towers but connects to the one that has the best signal (signal to noise ratio). After your phone is registered, your cell phone number plus ESN are forwarded to the MSC, which sends this to a home location register or HLR. If it turns out you're not on your home provider's network, it goes to a VLR, Visiting Location Register. This way the cellular network always knows where you are, that is, which cell you're in (what cell tower) so calls can be router to/from your cell phone.
- Q: How can my phone not open?
- The boot line is not normal caused by the normal boot, press the boot button, the trigger key of the power button should be significantly changed, if no change, the general boot key is bad or the boot line is broken.
- Q: im am in this plan thing at a mobileshop where i keep a mobilephone for like 4 years and then i can upgrade to a similarly priced phone for free, any way i brought a nokia n95 (at about $800 - $900) (i can also put money towards it as well when upgrading) and i was wondering what mobile phone i should get, i was thinking of either an iphone 4 or a htc 7
- HTC HD7 Windows Phone (T-Mobile) - The phone is incredibly quick booting. - The UI is beautiful and so smooth to use in comparison to other smartphones. - The build quality is solid and it feels like a good phone in your hand with the metal surround instead of cheap plastic. - The apps already on the store are of good quality and run very well on the phone, expecting a load more on the US release. - Skydrive integration with the Office Hub and your photo's is very useful allowing super quick upload to the cloud. - The one touch camera launch from the lock screen is very handy the flash is super bright with double LED. --------------------------------------
- Q: I NEED TO GET AN UPGRADE FOR MY PHONE. I KNOW I CAN GO TO T-MOBILE AND GET ONE BUT IS THERE SOMEWHERE ELSE (LIKE SITES I CAN GO)
- go to OKorder and search t-mobile phones or unlocked phones then just put your sim card in the new phone and tada.
- Q: How long will the new phone charge?
- For mobile phone battery "activation" problem, many of the argument is: the first three charging time must be more than 12 hours in order to activate the battery.
- Q: I want to used my mobile phone as a modem what program/hardware can be use?because my phone is built in wifi.Spec:Gt-S3653W Java capable.
- It's called Tethering, check with your Provider and see if they allow tethering. Most do but a few Companies want to charge a little extra to allow tethering
