- First notice if your cat is showing other signs of other problems, like hiding away much of the time, drinks more water than usual, eating less----things like that, as it could be a urinary infection causing him to pee on the rug. I have 3 cats of my own and have had 3 before these and at least 2 of them showed the symptoms I mentioned and they needed to be treated by a Vet right away. Turned out to be a Urinary Tract infec. It's easily treated and an antibiotic will be given. Please tell your Mom not to give up on Kitty yet! A Vet can tell by an exam and feeling your cat's tummy area for any swelling and get a urine sample as well to get a diagnosis. But, in my exp. with animals, once the infection is cleared up, the ususual areas cats tend to pee in and on, quits after the inf. clears up. Hope this helps!

- i would use a damp cloth to get pet hair off then i used vanish bar soap and warm water, comes up a treat and smells fresh just dont have the water too hot! also put a bit of washing up liquid in the water it helps.good luck

- Use ordinary vinegar on spill.Mop off and let dry.It will smell vinegary for a while, and then be ok.

- You can dye the carpet back and that is the only way to fix bleach stains. I am not sure where you can buy carpet dye but it is not that hard. Dilute the dye with water in a spray bottle and spray the bleach spot and absorb with rag. Continue until desired colored is reached. It is not always perfect but works. Or you can call a local carpet cleaning company. They can do it and they charged me about 50 bucks too.
