Q: Can I use 12-2 gauge wire on a 10 amp breaker to wire my light switches, and can I use 10 gauge wire on a 10 amp breaker? For a light fixture
Normally lighting circuits have a 15 amp breaker for protection and wired with 14 gauge wire. 14 gauge wire is good for 15 amps. 12 gauge wire is good for 20 amps. 10 gauge wire is good for 30 amps. So you can use 12 gauge wire, if you alrady have it available, but if you are going to go out and buy it, you can save some money by buing #14 wire. You can always go oversize with the WIRE just never undersized with the wire. Circuit breakerprotection is prescribed by the NEC. 15 amps for lighting and 20 amps for wall outlet power. I don't know where you even found a 10 amp breaker. ---------------------------------------... WOW! XTX has no clue what the National Electrical Code even says about this! Disregard his answer! It will get you into trouble!
Q: i would like to know what are the best spark plug wires
Tell ya the truth it doesn't matter what kind of spark plug wires you get but THE SPARK PLUGS CAN MAKE A VERY BIG DIFFERENCE IN GAS MILEAGE,PERFORMANCE HORSEPOWER here get these spark plugs Bosch Platinum +4 Spark Plugs your mileage will improve and changing the air filter will help to. And as for spark plug wires get Bosch there basically the best. Oh umm the Bosch Platinum +4 Spark Plugs are about $7.95 each but trust me on this it will be money well spent they last longer then regular ones i put some in my mother's Chevy S10 about year 1 1/2 ago and there still good. And since your suppose to change them every 6-7 months i'd say there alot better.
Q: When was the hot-wire anemometer invented? and who was it?
Who Invented Anemometer
Q: I have this sony x plod headunit that i want to install.unfortunetely i do not know the wiring on it. i could find out as i go along which wires go to which speakers... but which two wires are the POWER wires?so i attached pictures but the basic layout is on the left side there are 4 sets of two wires (im assuming they pair up vertically)on the right side there is a long black wire with a metal hook on the end.
The Grand Prix and the Camaro use an identical production unit radio plug, so which you're sturdy to circulate with none better adapters. If the GTP replace into geared up with a Bose sound gadget, however, the pinnacle unit won't paintings in a motor vehicle without Bose.
Q: TRUCK WIRES, quot;orange, yellow,,red,,black,,white,,brownSTEREO wires ,,Yellow, red, black how do i hook this up right ? HELP !!
Here okorder /... It's for a 70's Camaro but it's the same. Aftermarket radio: Yellow is 12 volts constant Red is 12 volts switched Black is ground hope this helps!
Q: Hi,I'm trying to install a ceiling light with a 3 wire configuration (white, black, ground) into a wire configuration of 4 wires (white, red, black, ground). This is configured for two on/off switches. So far, I have white to white, black to black, and ground to ground with the red capped off. This works with one switch perfectly, however when I hit the other switch, the circuit breaker blows. Please help, and thank you!
A circuit consists of two conductors not counting the green/bare, but can have more than two. Also a circuit can branch off and energize other things. Thus you have branch circuits. The ceiling box fan probably is a branch circuit consisting of two or three maybe four conductors i.e., black, red, white and green/bare. A ceiling fan will pull a load/current of usually 2 amps but can be a lot more. A 60watt incandescent light bulb pulls 1/6 of an amp, or 4 60watt bulbs is around 2amps. By and far the amount is very low considering most general lighting circuits can handle up to 20amps without any problems.
Q: I bought a bathroom fan timer and tried to install it. It has four wires and the wall switch circuit has only 3 wires. What do I do?
sounds like you have one wire short in the box. you need to power the timer. which means you have to use your ground wire for the neutral wire. and this means you have no proper ground. so wire it like this old black to black old white to red old green to new white and to box new green to box. to do it properly you need a 4 wire cable coming into the box and going to the power source or to where there is a proper neutral wire. the thing is the timer wants full power going to it complete with a ground circuit. the switch before it was just that a switch which interrupted the power on one side of the fan so all it needed was 2 wires and the ground to be properly wired
Q: How are wired differ from wireless doorbells, next how are they installed and finally the cost of them?
Wired have a wire that connects the button near the door, the transformer, and the chime. When the button is pushed, the transformer energizes the chime, causing it to ring. You, or an electrician, must fish wires to a location where a transformer can get a constant supply of power, such as an outlet. There also need to be wires fished to the chime and the button. Wireless work with radio waves. Costs vary widely, depending on the setup you go with. Decent wireless units start around $35-40, and go up from there. New chimes for wired systems start around $8 and up. Transformers start at $10, buttons start around $5. Hope this helps.
Q: don't say red because there is no red wire in the 3 wire radio assembly that came stock. there is a yellow wire, black with stripe, and gray with stripe

Q: like can u use home power wire that is 4 gauge rather then getting the car power wire
Wire is wire but stranded wire is better than solid which is generally used in home wiring. The gauge of the wire is what is most important. The gauge of wire is determined by the amperage of the equipment. 16AWG - 10A 14AWG - 15A 12AWG - 20A 10AWG - 30A 8AWG - 55A 6AWG - 75A 4AWG - 95A 2AWG - 130A 0AWG - 170A
