Q: I'm trying to wire a Sony L410X stereo to my 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500. I don't want to use a wiring harness, so I'm trying to figure out how to splice the wires together. I don't know how to hook the power wires up correctly. Obviously hooking the speakers up will be easy. I've tried looking at the wiring diagram but it seems like on the stereo system diagram it's positive and negative whereas the truck wiring is not identifying the negative wiring, just 12v+ Constant and 12v+ Switching. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
Some people like doing things against all odds, so knock yourself out. 2002 Chevrolet Silverado C1500 Radio Wiring Instructions Car Radio Battery Constant 12v+ Wire: Orange Car Radio Accessory Switched 12v+ Wire: Yellow Car Radio Ground Wire: Black Car Radio Illumination Wire: Gray Car Stereo Dimmer Wire: Brown Car Stereo Antenna Trigger Wire: N/A Car Stereo Amp Trigger Wire: Pink Car Stereo Amplifier Location: N/A Car Audio Front Speakers Size: N/A Car Audio Front Speakers Location: N/A Left Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Tan Left Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Gray Right Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Light Green Right Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Dark Green Car Audio Rear Speakers Size: N/A Car Audio Rear Speakers Location: N/A Left Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Brown Left Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Yellow Right Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Dark Blue Right Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Light Blue
Q: I have a 1990 chevy c1500 2wheel drive. I bought it not running. I have found the problem and it the tbi injectors are not hooked up. The 4 wires on the 2 injectors are red and the 4 wires going to the tbi are red, blue, green, white. what wires go were? Thanx for all your help.
The red and white wires are the power to each injector and are actually hooked to each other in the harness. These 2 wires should be hot when you turn the key on. The green and blue wires are the grounds that lead back to the ecm. The red and blue wires go to the passenger side injector (red is far left as you face the vehicle). The white and green go to drivers side (white on left as you face it)
Q: How do I tell which wire is positive and which wire is negative on the door speakers and the rear speakers?
Unplug the wires and note which wire goes where. then apply a battery to the speaker terminals, 9volt will work fine. If the cone moves out you have it connected to the proper + and - if it moves in then its backwards. With that you should be able to figure out which wires are + and -. Or you can just buy a service manual.
Q: just need a little help to make right.just wiring an outlet from building to breaker box outside.. which way is the right way to wire it to a breaker then the box. Got the right breaker. Thanks
Electricity is too dangerous to be playing with if you don't know what you are doing. This is such a basic issue that it makes it obvious that you would be putting yourself and others in danger by you doing it. Based on the wording, I don't think you are even using the correct terminology. There is way more to learn to safely do this than can be said here. Get a professional to do this. Among other things, if you do it wrong, there is a risk of the building catching on fire. That is in addition to the electrocution risk to you while doing the work and for other people after the work is done.
Q: i have some blue speaker wire in my wiring kit for my subs but where do i start it out from my head deck when i start to wire it all together.
The remote wire is for the remote turn on for the amp. It connects to the blue/white wire from the head unit (aftermarket) to the REM terminal on the amp. If your using a stock head unit, you can run the fused (1 amp, added to the blue wire from the fuse panel) blue wire tapped from a fuse that only has power when the car is on to a switch. From the other side of the switch run the same blue wire to the REM terminal on the amp. This allows for full control and you never have to worry about forgetting to turn off the amp.
Q: i need to know what wire goes where
hook the white greens together they are your ground. yellow blue are your power as well as the black red these do not matter which they go to. The reason you have 4 wires on 1 then 3 wires on the other is older dryers stoves used only 1 ground as where newer ones have 2.
Q: is this a wire that like is the same as buying any other one?
If you're pushing less than 1000w rms, you should just use 10awg, if you're pushing up to 500w use 12awg.
Q: I got a ventilation fan for the bathroom. The fan has 2 wires and there are 2 wires sticking out of the wall. How do I know which wire connects to which wire? What would happen if I connect the wrong wires?
The fan will run no matter which way the wires are connected. The AC that is going to run the fan has no specific polarity like DC does. The only question would be safety. See if there's a green screw anywhere on a metal part of the fan. If there is, you should run a ground wire to it. There might not be, and in that case, because the fan only has 2 wires, it must be double insulated and will pose no shock hazard. You've probably seen electric drills with no ground wire. These are double insulated and are safe to use without a ground wire.
Q: What happens when you hook these 2 wires up right along each other?
if you have an rca tv which works with 12 volts.......if the wires not connected to battery...there no problem. if connected to battery....the fuse blows.(close to battery on wire)....if there is no fuse....wires burn...risk of fire....do not forget...every device works with car battery MUST and MUST be eouipped fuse .
Q: alright i have a 1994 ford ranger XLT, it has a 4cyl and is a stick shift. i need to know which wire goes where from my O2 sensor. i know there is a positive, negative, heater wire, and the wire that goes to the computer. if anyone could tell me what each wire is and what the color of each is?
I know you're looking for very specific information, but I think you might be better off getting a service manual or at least a wiring diagram of the car. Some info is very VIN specific. This may not be, but it could be. Any answer you get could be unintentionally wrong, an cause you no end of headaches as you get mystery problems after you apply the wrong info. It happens.
