Q: thank you..are the y functioning well?: Well they are not as powerful as big vacuum cleaners but they are worth buying.

Q: What are everybody's opinions on the Kirby HI/HII/LI/LII vacuum cleaners/carpet shampooers?: Absolutely love my G3. I've had it for over 20yrs had no problems what so ever. It takes a licking and keeps on ticking.

Q: Are hoovers too strong, what has workked for you?-thanks: You can buy miniature vacuum cleaners hat are USB powered to use on your keyboard, but the ?2.99 one I bought didn't have that much power to be of any use. An actual cleaner with the crevice nozzle (or upholstery nozzle if it's a powerful beast) would do fine, Alternatively, you can buy cans of compressed air that have a thin straw on the end. This can be put inbetween the keys to blast muck out. Only pop off keys if you remember where they go. Note that laptop keyboards and some other types of keys (Generally the ones that don't make a 'click' sound when pressed) don't clip straight on and could be damaged by removing them the wrong way.

Q: Does any store sell steam cleaners that you can use yourself instead having someone else come to your home every time you need to touch up the floor?: Most places that sell vacuum cleaners also sell at least one brand of steam cleaner. Unless you will be using it a lot, rent one. When you unpack one you bought, you will also find that finding a place to store it is a real pain.

Q: I am currently looking for a new vacuum cleaner. The old one I've had is falling apart and its being held together by a shoulder strap and duct tape. I am currently looking for a commercial upright or backpack vacuum cleaner but I'm not sure if they are meant for home use. Can you help me out here?: sure...you may pay a lot more and they are not ultra maneuverable in small spaces. I prefer the dyson for home use though...Strong and sturdy, yet they are affordable.

Q: Vacuum is the absence of matter. From my understanding, vacuums work by fans and air currents....I don't understand.: Vacuum cleans don't suck. They create a low pressure area inside the machine by blowing out air (matter) and the outside air pressure blows air into the cleaner to fill in the void left behind. So you could call it a blow cleaner, but that doesn't sound as nice in an advertisement. The low pressure area inside the machine is a partial vacuum, so the name is accurate.
