- ABEC ratings are meaningless unless you are worried about small amounts of vibration over 200 mph. Really, it is a standard about vibration in high speed industrial machines. Even an ABEC 1 bearing is much better than the precision grade bearings that were used in the early skates and boards so going to ABEC was a big step up. Then the marketing people realized that they could put bigger numbers on things and the race was on. In theory, a given manufacurer puts more care into making the higher number bearings than they do the lower number bearing, but that doesn't mean that their high number bearing might not be better than a low number bearing from a better maker. In reality, the best bearing companies make non-ABEC bearings as their best ones because the smaller gaps in the high number bearings can slow you down. They put close tolerances where they need them and open up space where it can be done. They also use better grades of metal or ceramics. Within typical bearings, you will see a bigger difference due to the lubricant (and how much is used) that the bearing has in it. Oil will be faster but requires new lube more often. Grease lasts longer but is slower (especially if too much is used). Gels are in between.

- Q: hello, i had a oil leak in my car witch ended up in a seized engine, i have taken the sump off and taken off the bolts of the conrods and the shells are very damaged, it seems i can now turn over the engine when the conrod bearings are removed, if the conrod bearings are damaged does this meen that the shells on the main crank bearings will be damaged aswell? would it be possible to replace these bearings without removing the crankshaft, also one of the conrod bolts is a little bit rounded off , how would i take this of and could i buy new bolts ? thanks

- we could see... For a good deck i could verify out Plan B, ZooYork, or 0 they are all 3 enormously good manufacturers. For vehicles u have the two Silver or self reliant, i think of Silver is extra valuable yet it rather is my opinion. For bearings i could decide on the two Bones or FKD observed blade. For wheels Bones could be a good purchase as for grip tape u can the two verify out mob or verify out Torey Pudwill's new kind referred to as Grizzly Grip even with the shown fact that it in basic terms got here out at the instant so it rather is not consumer-friendly to discover in shops!
- Q: I am interested in cleaning my roller blade bearings so that are free of sand.I saw a recommended video to wash the open ball bearings in acetone but I need some help understanding how to get my bearings to run their best.I found some nail polish remover and I am planning to wash the bearings in a small bath unless anyone knows if a more pure formula of acetone might be safer.I'm still doing some research and I found some chemists on the internet mentioned balancing the alcohol to water ratio 1:1 with acetone sort of like with mouth washthey also mentioned that methyl acetate and how it might help to filter it out. I'm wondering I'm now interested in seeing how acetone might react with sand (SiO2) but I'm actually thinking it might just dissolve it.What does everyone else think?Is there a better way to clean bearings? (excluding lube)
- Absolutely none of the liquids you mention will react with SiO2 or dissolve it. There is nothing that will dissolve SiO2 that won't also dissolve your bearings. The point of the various bits of advice is that the acetone (or whatever organic solvent) will dissolve the lubricant in the bearings which is holding the sand grains there. Whether you use nail polish remover, or acetone (diluted or not) or gasoline or kerosene or maybe even alcohol doesn't much matter. (Although in all cases you need to observe the safety precautions about inhalation and fire hazards, and keep the solvent off of the upper parts of your roller blades.) Your goal is to remove all the oil (or whatever lubricates your bearings) then let the bearings dry completely. Then you should be able to remove any left over sand by brushing it out of the bearings with something like a soft brush or blowing it out with compressed air. After all the sand is removed, you need to re-lubricate your bearings. (I've been assuming all along that your bearings are metal. If they are not, you need to be careful about your choice of solvents, lest you dissolve your bearing too.) I doubt there is anything else you can do to remove sand from your bearings. In the long run it's probably easier to find a place to roller blade where there isn't so much sand.

- you take s socket wrench and loosen the nut and take it off and take off the washer , than the wheel than the other washer . Don't lose ur washers !!! Do this to each wheel . Take about 8 Qtips or more or less depending on how dirty ur bearings are , take the Q tip and rub the dirt off of the bearing . Each side and in the insides .
