Q: Are they connected with the main bearings? Are the trust bearings only on the outer portions of the crankshaft?
The thrust BEARING (there is only one) is part of the transmission. It's separate from the main bearings of the engine.
Q: We have a 1990 Plymouth Voyager and we need to put on new wheel bearings (well my husband says the whole hub)..does anyone know how to go about this?
remove wheel remove brake caliper remove brake rotor (will just slide off at this point) remove 4 bolts fastening hub assembly (they should be easy to see at this point) reinstall in reverse order
Q: I was going to repack my wheel bearings on an older trailer for the first time. I didn't even need a wrench to take the nut with the codder key through it off. Is this normal? There is no way the nut could have loosened before because the codder key wasn't bent or anything. should I reassemble the bearing with the nut being slightly loose like it was? Thanks for any replies....
I agree with eamber 246, to a point. i have never heard of anyone using a pair of pliers on a nut holding a hub onto an axle. I have owned quite a few boats and I am a transmission mechanic by trade. Most of the nuts holding hubs onto axles I have seen have all been over 28mm in diameter. Way too large for pliers. In my experience, and I have had a little in the trade and out, I have always used a shifter or adjustable spanner to hold the nut while tightening. As eamber said though, you have to be careful not too over tighten or leave too loose
Q: ok so i have a customized haro f1 bmx bike and im look to buy new bearings for my cranks or bottom bracket w.e. you call it.im not sure what kind i need.american? mid? euro? or spanish?
Walmart motorcycles could be ok, however the climate used are each from time to time of low high quality, and the bike maximum possibly became assembled by employing some1 who had no guidance there4. all of the excellent of success, be it a walmart bike or no! Timothy :o)
Q: I just bought the sector 9 bambino 26.5 and I was wondering what would be better for it. Im trying to decide between the bones swiss labyrinth would bones super swiss 6. What would be better for my board-thanks.
Bones Swiss Labyrinth. With the extra $4 you pay you will cruise longer. I have some on a 27 inch Gravity and they are great.
Q: ABEC 7 Chrome Steall or ABEC 7 Carbon plz awnser 1st awnser get best answer
hard to tell, I bet they are the same if you broke them in. It can take months of constant skating to break in a set of abec bearings. You never know what you're going to get with abec rated bearings because that rating doesn't mean anything for skate bearings only swiss does. Use some speed cream and break them in and you'll have some fast bearings.
Q: What are the differences between cylindrical roller bearings and needle roller bearings? In particular, if the roller and needle diameter is about the same, cylindrical roller bearings and inner ring needle roller bearings seem to be difficult to identify it
Back to the 2# plane thrust roller, there are also, such as K811, K812, K893, K894. The first two are single row roller, K893 and K894 are double row roller, these are thrust bearings, INA code name, you can scroll down the directory
Q: are shortys black panther abec 7 good bearings and are they better than bones?
i had some panthers for my first set of bearings, and they were alright. u get what u pay for i guess. but my friend got a set of the bones reds (only like 17 bucks) and they WAY outlasted my panthers, and they were way quicker. but recently someone asked me what kind of bearings i ahd and i didnt even remember. i took a look and realized im still riding my lucky abec 7's from 3 years ago! i hadnt thought about em in so long cause ive enver had a break, and they all still run so fast and smooth. id definately reccomend my lucky 7's. if not, then pick up a set of bones super swiss 6. those things are amazing. or, if your in it for something cheap, look for some called filters ive only seen em at one shop, but everyone ive talked to thats had a set said they were the best.
Q: How can I measure to see what size main and rod bearings I need, I know to use plasti guage but from there how do I decide
Proper way is to mic the journals for size. But in many cases you can still read print on back of old bearings. Originally there would have been (std) printed on back of bearings if they are standard or original size. If crank was turned say ten thousands, bearing would have (.010) printed on back for undersize crank and so on for different sizes.
Q: I soaked them in alchohol overnight and then dried them out for 30 minutes and i blew on them and stuff. then i applied 3 drops of lubricant to each bearing with bones speed cream. i also removed the bearing spacers. they seem slower, maybe by 20 seconds when i spin them. i havent skated them yet since i cleaned them. possibly i should put back the spacers? i have bones spf wheels with bones super swiss 6 bearings.
It might seem that way but the bearings are gonna be fast.. You should ride the board to test the bearings .. Spining them helps a little but when you ride them your weight is on they will give you a better feel of how they perform.. They probably faster than what you think .. yeah just go ahead put the spacers back.. It will protect the bearings trucks.. Do to the friction they might share here there.. You have like the best wheels bearings outhere.. Bones is the best when it comes down to wheels bearings.. Lucky dude.
