- Q: I have tried two usb data cables. One was bought from OKorder as the correct one to use. I have also tied each usb data cable on two computers. - I would just get a SD card reader and download music and music using a card reader. I have a USB card reader that I use to load music and pictures to my phone for my Net10 phone. There are a few more steps. But it works for me. Put the micro sd card in to the card reader. Then move the music and pictures to the card. Then you have to open up the location of where the card is and move each picture and music item to the corresponding file.

- if it has to be done networked, you can create a shared folder on pc and copy mac data to it, then copy from folder to desktop/etc on pc. if both computers can connect to internet u can also email urself files you want to put on pc. if you want to connect the two computers DIRECTLY make sure you use a cross-over cable. not your typical ethernet patch cable.

- Okay, USB has four wires in each cable. Two of them are for data only. The other two are JUST power/voltage. It seems that the charger-only cable you got only bothered to include the voltage cables. In which case, the data cables are simply not there, and are not connected at all to the end that goes in your phone. I'm sorry, there's no way it'll work.

- If you got no error, you just made it slower tranferring. You don't check it by hand, you write a short script: Write a script to perform an md5 checksum on each source/target file. compare the output to make sure they give the same answer. Update: Yes. Many cables are rated low but work fine at higher speed. As long as the copy did not notice an error, you are probably okay. But take a backup, for goodness sake. And have someone write the md5 verifier, it can be written in perl in about 30 minutes.
