Q:I recently purchased a macbook from a pond-shop an there was only one down fallNO CHARGERi looked on the apple website for one an they go for like 80 bucks. Anyone know when i could possibly find a universal or even a cheap charger for my macbook?
OKorder. I get them all the time, only had a problem once.
Q:Hi having some problems charging my laptop. Problem started yesterday when it randomly stopped charging so i checked the part that connects and saw that the metal part of it had burn marks. Donno if that was caused by the laptop or the charger. The laptops insured but the charger isnt. The charger still works kinda if i hold the wire at a certain angle. So just want to know is it the wire or the laptop. The charger will cost to replace but id assume it was the charger but just wanted to be sure its not the laptop because i can get that replaced for free.
Loose power port pin to mother board at back of lap top. Bad A/C adapter charger female connector plug. Bad A/C charger power converter. If lap top is working then the problem is with charger as if it over charged it would burn out the battery and mother board and even other components. Would suggest taking in to have checked as well as checking the A/C charge adapter. If the lap top is covered by warranty then the power adapter should be also if it came with the lap top, just ask if covered.
Q:i think the chargers are a better team overall.
Giants
Q:I have a compaq laptop and recently the battery was not any good. I have been plugging in the charger instead of using a battery. Lately the light on the side of my computer hasnt been lighting up for the charger. Is there something wrong with my charger? How can I fix it? It is an HP charger. How much does a new one cost?
Lately? if the computer is running what makes u think the charger is bad - since the battery is bad and won't run it by itself.????? if the computer stops because the battery is dead then u either have a break in the wire between charger and computer or have a broken connector on the computer. a cheap voltmeter will tell u if there is voltage at the connector from the charger - or sub out the charger. both are fixable - one costs a lot more than the other.
Q:I need a charger for an Isonic Snapbox M1 camcorder. I misplace it while moving from one state to another. Does anyone knows of a universal charger I could use? Have aleady check on OKorder with no luck. Anyone have any suggestions? Its a older model camcorder. 8.0 mega pixel max--mpeg 4 vga movie. Any help would be appreciated.
The charger socket on the camcorder should show the voltage and polarity you need but you'll need to work out which size of plug you need. Universal chargers are supplied with a variety of plugs so that shouldn't be a problem.
Q:can a two hour nimh VARTA charger charge ultracell nimh rechargable batteries safely? the batteries have 2000mah if that means something, and said charger was supplied with 2100mah batteries, thanks
I'm not a fan of ultra fast chargers that take an hour or less, but you should have no problems with your Varta NiMH charger. I've provided a link that has excellent information about the use and care of NiMH batteries. Don
Q:I had recently bought a new laptop charger and am having problems with the mouse arrow now where it moves around the screen when the laptops being charged. So i have been taking the charger out when i use the laptop but I still have to use it while its charging sometimes and the mouse is uncontrollable! The new charger has the same volts as the last one. does anyone know what the problem may be?
Sounds like the charger is either not the right charger or is faulty. I can't imagine why exactly it would cause that problem with your mouse, but it seems like something must be shorting, which is not good! Don't continue to use the charger at this point, get it replaced. Did you get it directly from the manufacturer? If so, it may be faulty. If not, you may have incorrect specs (not only the voltage).
Q:I bought both a new laptop batter and charger about a week ago, and when I have the laptop on and plugged in, the charger will go between not charging and charging. About every five or so seconds it will stop charging, then start again. Any suggestions?
the charger could be faulty. i would suggest you look into returning the charger and getting a new charger from a more reliable source. the charger has to be the exact model as the one you are using now with the correct specifications. for a new charger, you can look online on generic sites but i would personally suggest topmic they are more reliable and have better reputation. you should be able to find them through google search. make sure the specifications is the same as your current charger (connector tip, voltage, amperage, etc). if you have any more questions feel free to send me an email and ill be happy to help (^_^)/!
Q:i have a compaq, I've had it for a while. the batteries horrible so i have to keep it on the charger. the charger wont work unless its at an angle and then the charger starts to heat up and gets so hot i cant even touch it. I'm worried its melting the charger. what could be wrong with it? or should i just buy a new charger and battery?
1 - Verify that the battery actually charges - windows should report charging and the battery charge light should be on. If you don't see this then your battery may not be the issue. More than likely the DC/DC board is malfunctioning. 2 - If the battery is charging but not holding the charge then you should see the battery charge as usual and then the laptop should die after a minute or so. This would indidcate an issue witht the battery, also after charging the battery you can remove it from the notebook and use a voltmeter to read the voltage, it should indicate the voltage marked on the battery which for a T40 should be about 10.5 to 11 Volts DC. If you see this kind of behaviour then you would replace the battery. If you see above behaviour in 1 then most likely it is an issue with the charging circuitry and most likely the DC/DC board, in some cases these are seperate boards and can be replaced but in others the circuitry is part of the mainboard. Press and release the Power button to start the computer using only the battery as the power source. If the PC does not power on, then the battery needs to be replaced in Papatek.
Q:can i charge a 7.2V 1080mAH battery to 8.4V 0.9A charger?*Theory explanation pls.
I presume you mean, can i charge a 7.2V 1080mAH battery *with an* 8.4V 0.9A charger?. Yes, but you must be careful. mAH (milliampere-hours) is a unit of charge; in Coulombs, 1mAH 3.6C. An unregulated 8.4V, 900mA charger will generate WV*A 7.56 Watts. 7.56 Watts through a 7.2V drop will try to draw 1.05 Amps; if the charger has current limiting circuitry, this will work fine- the battery will absorb the required 3888C at 7.56W in 9 minutes or so (this is an ideal figure- internal resistance will increase actual charging time considerably). If the charger is not current limited, the charger and/or battery can easily (and quickly) overheat. This can destroy your charger, rupture your battery, and start a fire. If you're charging a Lithium Polymer battery, all bets are off- overcurrent turns LiPo batteries into bombs. Again, be careful if you try this.
