Q: The dishwasher behind my bar at work has a leak. The pipe that's leaking is Parker Parflex PP 3/8 plastic tubing that connects into a metal nut and brings clean water in. The pipe has a leak exactly where it meets the nut, so in theory I could cut off the cracked portion and then re-seal it to the nut. Can I cut it with wire cutters? Should it be sanded after I cut it? Do I use a teflon sealant? Thanks for any help!
That should be a compression fitting. If it's a brass fitting then they are one time use. You can get a new brass fitting, cut the PP tube clean with a knife or a razor blade - be careful not to cut yourself please, then install the nut over the tube, slip the compression ring over the tube and if there's an insert that goes inside the PP, insert that. Then push the hose into the fitting and slide the nut and ring to the threaded portion of the fitting and tighten it. Be careful to tighten it enough to seal but not so tight you cut through the pipe again. It's likely the reason you have the leak in the first place is because someone overtightened it. OR you can simply buy a replacement hose. I'd prefer a wire braid shielded pipe. Stronger and made with a professional fitting on the end, one you don't have to mess with. My opinion, replacing the tube is the better idea. And they're not stupidly expensive either. Good luck with your project. '')
Q: What are the common applications of plastic tubes in the construction industry?
Plastic tubes are commonly used in the construction industry for various applications such as plumbing, electrical wiring, ventilation systems, and drainage systems. These tubes are lightweight, durable, and resistant to corrosion, making them a cost-effective and reliable choice for transporting fluids, cables, and gases within buildings. Additionally, plastic tubes are easy to install, maintain, and can be customized to fit specific project requirements, making them an essential component in modern construction practices.
Q: the tube is a 24 inch tube how do i use it onit?
Add 4oz of the Slime sealant to the inner tube. The cap of the Slime bottle should have a tool built in that will unscrew the valve core. Once the core is out, just use the included clear plastic tube to put the slime in. When you are all finished just screw the core back in and air it up.
Q: I have a bear hamster she hates cardboard tubes she already has a wheel and a ball and a play pen even a little house dont sugest plastic tubes because i have her in a little fish tank like cage tubes wont work thx
You can get plastic tubes and just put them on the floor of the tank, that works, you know. What about egg boxes? You can a hole or two in it and put some bedding and treats in it. Or boxes in general. Get some boxes and cut holes in them and your hamster and go through them and pop out in certain places. Any kind of box would do,though if your hamsters a chewer the ink could be harmful if it is coloured. You could attach them with cardboard tubes! I know you said your hamster doesn't like cardboard tubes, but mine doesn't like them if they're just lying on the ground but will go through them if attached. You could also get a sand bath! Those are not only fun,but help the fur, though some hamsters will just not bother. You could get some Chinchilla sand (sand, not dust) and put it in a container and use either outside the cage or keep it in How about having a thicker substrate if there isn't much? A lot of hamster's enjoy digging. Talking of substrate, you could hide some treats in it and your hamster will sniff and dig to find them. Have you got anything for her to chew on? I know it's not really something for them to 'play' with,so to say,but it keeps them busy and their teeth short, though some hamsters again just don't bother.
Q: Can plastic tubes be used for insulation in HVAC systems?
Yes, plastic tubes can be used for insulation in HVAC systems.
Q: ive been spending a fortune lately on my hamsters..so my partners asked me to stop buying them things for a couple of weeks..but i really want some tubes for my hamsters anybody got some old ones they dont want anymore..that could give me for cheap??
go to a hard ware store and find a plastic tube for plumbing i bought 5 of them for 50 cents each. it was cheap and they last a long time, they are also too hard to chew so they cant eat them, that way you wont need to keep buying tunnels and you can just save up change.
Q: Are plastic tubes suitable for use in the aerospace industry?
Yes, plastic tubes are suitable for use in the aerospace industry. Plastic tubes offer various advantages such as being lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and cost-effective. They are commonly used in applications where weight reduction is crucial, such as fuel and hydraulic systems, ventilation, and electrical wiring. However, the specific choice of plastic material will depend on the specific requirements and conditions of the aerospace application.
Q: Are plastic tubes suitable for vacuum applications?
Plastic tubes are generally not suitable for vacuum applications as they are prone to collapsing under the pressure differential created by the vacuum.
Q: Does anyone know if i can run a aftermarket air filter right off of my Mass air flow sensor and my stock intake tube down to my turbo? I have a 1998 Audi A4 1.8 turbo
Yes you can as long as it is all silled off tight from the air filter back MY 08 <demo camaro that i race at drag tracks ..has a custom home made system......with ram air .....my air fillters are on the roof of the car I just got some tubing ...cut a hoe in the old air box just big Enif for the houses and ran it to the roof..i did all this for about 250 but i chromed it out ......Just make sure ur olny pullin air that came threw the filter some cars will wig out if the air flow isnt just right JUST to let you know that if ur check engine light or such comes on it mayb bc of the computers pressure/vacuum readings but most of the time this does not happen example <lets just say If ur computer thinks it should be running at 2.0 but ur getting 1.0 or 3.0 the check engine light may pop on??but most likely not and just to let u know if u remove all that junkie plastic tubing and replace it with metal intake lines it will drop ur running temp ..and give u a lil better fuel mileage ..and hp I hope iv helped
Q: How are plastic tubes labeled with lot numbers?
Plastic tubes are typically labeled with lot numbers through various methods such as direct printing, adhesive labels, or laser etching. These lot numbers are used for traceability and quality control purposes, allowing manufacturers and users to track and identify specific batches of tubes for various applications.
