Note that the white wire is the return path that carries current while the green is usually connected to the case or chassis and should trip the circuit breaker if it begins to carry current. A guess? The name Powr Panl suggests that this is a power distribution panel with multiple outlets. It's possible the color coding was used to help track connections to ganged panels. Just a guess though. With perhaps more detail, a better informed guess could be made. What does the panel look like? How large are the wires? To what do they connect? Do I just wire nut the black wired and wire nut the white wires, and continue running to the next switch. So if that is the case, then am I correct in saying that in the double gang switch I will have one wire nut with the ground wires, one wire nut with 4 black wires, and one wire nut with 4 white wires? Please help with this matter, I want to do this correct, so my house doesn't burn down.By the way I am using 14/2 wire.
- Yes,this will work. The rule of thumb is to break the Black for lights and switches, and to keep the white wire pure (contiuous). I hope this helps. I know that wiring can get confusing trying to wire in more than one switch on a line, so good luck.

- For underground wiring, it is essential you use underground feeder and branch-circuit cable (UF cable). it's weatherproof and best for underground burial.The requirement for direct (underground) burial is 24 inches. You need not use a conduit if your going to use the UF cable but be sure to have it 24 inches below ground. if you want to lessen the depth of burial then consider using a conduit. Check your local electrical codes as well to be sure and ask advice from an electrician. Hope this helps
- Q:I have a spot in a room where there used to be track lighting. I'm going to be moving the electrical to the center of the room for a fan. - What JakeB said is right. Or find where the wires are coming from that went to the track light. Use the old wire to pull new longer wires in its place reconnect the new wire ,remove the short old wires and then wire up the fan.
