Q:I am redoing a little iron vanity chair that at one time had a pillow back. I don't have the orig hardware for it and would like to know how to do this.
So are you asking how to reupholster the back of a small chair? Cut a piece of fabric at least 6 bigger on all sides, get a piece of batting 1/2 smaller all around than the area being covered and a staple or glue gun. Put the batting on the area to be covered, cover it in the fabric and pull the fabric to the back, securing with staples and or glue. Standard upholstery. Other wise, make a pillow the right size and shape and then tie it in place. I would add more detail to the question, maybe a pic of the chair?
Q:I'm very recently very interested in the old abandoned ski areas. I was wondering if anyone knew of an old area where lifts are still up? or even if the chairs are set on the ground that would be ideal. I'm looking for old chairs to just really get a good sense of the old technology that was used on these old mountain/areas. I've had some great success with finding rope tows and Poma lifts, however chairlifts are hard to find really with chairs still attached! Any information would be great. Just a hint. I am NOT looking to take these. I have found old Poma Bars, T-Bars, and old rope tow handles and always abide by the rules of the area. I have taken ONE T-bar, and asked the mountains owner for permission to take it. I don't know how I could fit a chair in my little Ford Taurus either! Thanks in advance for anyone who will be giving information on an OLD mountain with some chairs attached or lying around!

Q:i'm 15 and i'm redoing my room, getting a new big white bed and right now i have this desk chair that i don't like, and i was wondering if i could like redecorate it? like it's a chair on wheels, with a back support and a gap separating it from the part you sit on, and i would like to make it more arm-chairish?(it doesn't have handrests and i won't bother trying to put those on!) :)and umm i'd like to make it in possible navy blue silk or something i'm not sure yet, kind of like jenny's dark pink armchair thing on gossip girl?well if you have any tips :D
Staples won't work because your desk chair is probably plastic or maybe metal and not wood. I would sugges slip covers. You can fit fabric inside out with pins, then take it off and sew it together then turn it right side out. Velcro will close the open side around anything that sticks out.
Q:A 29 kg chair initially at rest on a horizontalfloor requires a 373 N horizontal force to setit in motion. Once the chair is in motion, a342 N horizontal force keeps it moving at aconstant velocity. The acceleration of gravity is 9.81 m/s2.a) What is the coefficient of static frictionbetween the chair and the floor?008 (part 2 of 2) 10.0 pointsb) What is the coefficient of kinetic frictionbetween the chair and the floor?
When the chair is at rest, the force applied has to overcome the force of static friction before the chair can move. The max force applied before the chair moves = F(s) Then F(s) = F(static friction) F(s) = μs x N .....(μs=coefficient of static friction) F(s) = μs x mg μs = F(s)/mg = 373 / 29(9.81) = 1.31 Once the chair is in motion with constant velocity, then the applied force overomes the force of kinetic friction Then F(k) = F(kinetic friction) F(k) = μk x N .....(μk=coefficient of kinetic friction) F(k) = μk x mg μk = F(k)/mg = 342 / 29(9.81) = 1.20
Q:I need some advice! For my wedding we will be borrowing tables and metal folding chairs. I already have the tables planned out with white tablecloths and a fuschia tulle runner down the center. My problem is the chairs are really ugly and I need a very cheap idea on how to cover those. We are on a really tight budget ($3,000 for everything)as we are paying for everything ourselves. I was thinking of buying some tulle for the chairs and ribbon, but I wanted to know if anyone would have any idea what that would cost per chair? My colors are fuschia, yellow and orange. Thanks!
This may sound weird..but it works! My friend had the same concern/issue for her reception, so here was what we did... Pillowcases! We went to a few of our local discount/closeout stores that sell bed linens. We bought out all of the white pillow cases they had and even found a few that were in the blue color that she was using for her wedding colors. They came 2 in each pack for only 1.00 to 1.50 per pack (depending on which store we got them from) so we really only pd about .75 or so per chair. here's how to do it.... 1-Slip the case over the back of the chair and pull down just until you reach the seat and the entire back is covered. 2-Standing behind the chair, fold the excess at the top towards you in a way that results in a cuff that is about 3 to 4 wide, 3-fold that down towards you over the back of the chair and pin it to secure. 4-Then use your tuelle and tie a bow to camoflouge the fold. We used wide satin ribbon and created more of a banded look (like a ribbon sash on a wedding gown). We tied it into a knot- without the bow-and left the long streamer-trails. We had also arranged it so that all of the 'knots w/trailing ribbons were more towards the right sides of the chairs, rather than directly in the center. It was very striking and we got a LOT of compliments on it! If you DO use cases in both white and your wedding color, use your wedding color ribbon/netting to tie on the white chairs and then use white ribbon/netting to tie on the color chairs. Hope this helps a little! CONGRATS ON YOUR WEDDING!
Q:The desks and chairs of the office are damaged very quickly. What should we do? And what are the rules to reduce the damage?
Employees resolve themselves. In this way, employees will pay attention to care and maintenance, otherwise, anyway, bad, some people change, it will not care about these.
Q:Did you have them? Was it worth the cost to rent them? I have found some places to rent them locally and they are around $2 per chair ... we are having around 150 guests and our budget is about $8000. I really think they make the chairs and room look so much nicer but am wondering if it is worth it.
I guess it depends who you ask but we opted for chair covers and I think it REALLY made the ceremony reception look more elegant and put together than just using the plain ugly chairs that were underneath. Our chair covers were $5.50 each but we had a much bigger budget than you have. If you have a small budget it's probably best to spend that money on something else since it is just a chair after all. I'm amazed that you can plan a wedding for 150 people with only $8,000 so if you can manage the cost of chair covers then definitely do it, I'm glad we did.
Q:i have frequent back pain if my back isnt properly supported.im looking for a place where i can try out a chair..and thats reasonably priced.im a student and need a good chair for the work.would love some recommendations.thanks(especially a place where the chairs are very comfortable for the back)
Staples! lol they offer really good quality chairs and they have a HUGE price range from cheap to super expensive, they will also assemble it for free for you and the one I went to even delivered it for free. (A guy in the dept brought it over in his own car, so I just tipped him) Office Max and other similar stores will sell computer chairs as well. You get to try them out too before you pick one.
Q:why on earth would I feel better in the morning sleeping in that old chair than in bed? thats just crazy
sleeping in a semi-upright position helps lots of people with back pain, poor circulation, heartburn, acid reflux, heart disease, congestion, sinus issues....I could go on and on.
Q:I've got a small room and really would love a butterfly chair to relax in (my old one fell apart--literally). I bought one today at Target and it was WAYYYY too small. I want one I can curl up in, like my old one. Any help? Links would be awesome. :)
