- Q: There's a substantial dent (bordering on being a deep crack/hole) in the middle of a 3 square meter piece of painted plasterboard. I need to repair it with something durable as it's in a prominent place and thus am not sure plaster will suffice. On-top of that it will need to be painted. What should I use?
- I would paint it with a flat latex paint. That will help hide some of your mistakes. Good luck!
- Q: 3dmax gypsum board suture how to do
- First cable, in the extrusion
- Q: How long is a single layer of fireproof gypsum board refractory?
- Fire limit refers to the light steel keel steel structure with gypsum board full system of fire resistance. Rather than a single finger gypsum board. Ordinary 9.5mm single-layer fire at 1.5h. 12mm can reach 3h of fire.
- Q: Back blocking does not seem possible when the walls are clad first Similarly can I join fibre cement sheeting on a stud
- Fastening to any solid lumber is preferred. As long as they are flush with the studding, I don't see the issue.
- Q: I'm using these 'wall anchor' bolt things to hold stuff up on the wall. They're the ones that slot through a drilled hole and then when you tighten the screw in them, the part behind the wall gets compressed until it presses against the back of the wall. That's probably irrelevant though...These wall anchors are rated to hold 10kg when used in 10mm thick plasterboard walls. I'm using them in a fibro cement wall which is approx 6mm thick. Seeing as fibro cement walls are way stronger than plasterboard, would you have any idea what the wall anchors could support in them? 20kg? 30kg?I know this is going to be pretty hard to answer accurately, but any educated guesses would be great! Thanks
- fibro cement may be stronger but i would guess it is more brittle too. it may crack when you tighten the anchors if you can find a couple of studs and screw directly to these it would help
- Q: I need to repair several plasterboard walls that have holes with plugs left in them. What is the quickest / easyiest way to do this
- Is your wall lathe and plaster or sheetrock? If this is sheetrock purchase a small keyhole observed ( in case you have not got one already) shrink the hollow out to a sq., degree the hollow the two facets, occasion sixteen x sixteen Then circulate to a clean shape internet site (ask around) and %. up a bite to extra healthy, if this is to special shrink it down once you get domicile. next step, shrink the sheetrock to length, (a sprint scrack around the component won't remember) then get some a millionx2 inventory from lumber backyard shrink 2 products longer than the hollow (3 to 4 Inches) Get some sheetrock screws from ironmongery keep (in basic terms some will paintings) in case you have a means drill (hassle-free way) placed the 1x2 piece interior the hollow 4 or 5 inches from the component start up on the top and placed a screw interior the top piece of 1x2 now a screw interior the btm. repeat with different 1x2 verify which you do sink the screws in under the floor of the paper interior the sheetrock. Now place the sheetrock interior the hollow, and follow a line down from the screws you put in the 1x2s and screw the sheet rock to the 1x2s 4 ought to do it sink the heads in lower back. Now your waiting for some dry wall dirt, spackle will paintings too, fill interior the screw holes and the exterior crack enable it dry use a sanding block one hundred grit paper will do and a bite of 1x2 sand of the surplus dirt and repaint or dangle a photo in the experience that your'e renting. reliable success!
- Q: I had some water damage to the ceiling of a small bathroom and need to remove the plaster, but I don't want to invest in a reciprocating saw (plus they're scary to use overhead).
- you could also try a rotozip.
- Q: Is there anyone out that may be able to give a idea as to how much money I should expect to pay to have plaster board installed in a 9ft wide and 101/2 long and approx 9ft highkitchen that is stripped to furing strips and cinderblock. Thank You,,
- 10 foot sheets by 5/8 x 11 sheets aprox $200 plus labor... am guessing aprox $500-600
- Q: On further inspection it is more like cardboard than plasterboard. Horrible!
- unfortunately it would need total retile if the tiles are popping off the adhesive has failed and it may drop and injure or damage the bath.
- Q: there are a lot of mice in my area, my cats are forever catching and killing them. my neighbour has had them inside her house (she has no cats). last night both my cats were upstairs, staring at the wall. i put them out when i went to bed and then heard all this scratching in the wall behind my bed. its a plasterboard wall filled with insulation and doesnt lead anywhere else, unless they've chewed their way thru the ceiling or chipboard floor. why on earth wud mice come in when they cant get food??? and how the heck do i get them out without making holes in the wall?
- they probably got in under the skirting boards (The usually white bits of wood around the bottom of the walls that is near the floor) Its warm and cosy in there and very safe. (Have you ever seen tom and jerry? your cat cant get in there) They will leave at night time and get food from outside or whatever is lying around the house.
