2.Specifications of Graphite Electrode for Refining Furnace and Arc Furnace:

Graphite Electrodes conduct electric current into the furnace. Electric current produces arc in the smelting district, when the temperature increases to about 2000°C, smelting begins. Our series of Graphite Electrodes are applicable to the common furnaces and high power furnaces with high voltage and short arc. G-High Graphite Electrodes are classified into three classes.

3.Features of Graphite Electrode for Refining Furnace and Arc Furnace:

1).Good electrical conductivity

2).High resistance to thermal shock

3).High mechanical strength

4.Applications of Graphite Electrode for Refining Furnace and Arc Furnace:

Used in EAF and LF for steel making, as well as in electric smelting furnace for producing industrial silicon, phosphorus, etc.

Q: whats the difference between potting soil and topsoil?
Fertilizer for blooming flowers will help and so will the light that it gets They don't like full sun light. Don't over water. Let it dry out quite a bit( to the point of wilting), then give it some water once again.
Q: I have a cutting of an evergreen pine. I do not know the variety but I have had it stood in water for several months and it is beginning to form roots. The roots are only a couple of mm long. When should I transfer it to soil?
As it's been in water for so long, I'd transition it from water only to a perlite or vermiculite base, still with water, and let its roots acclimatise to a different environment, albeit still with water around it. Let its roots grow for a couple more months, and then consider re-potting into a mix of soil and perlite/vermiculite as you used for the transitional stage - again, this mix will be less contrasting than just potting it straight into soil. I don't leave them too long without any nutrients, as they need these in order to grow well, and perlite/vermiculite have no nutrients, hence my moving them to a soil mix after just a few weeks. All of the cuttings that I root in water grow better this way, as water-only roots tend to be somewhat different from roots made into a solid substance, and are more fragile. Sometimes it may seem a slower way of doing things, but in the longer term it produces more robust young plants at a faster rate. You can get perlite/vermiculite from nurseries and some home supply stores such as Home Depot / Wilkinsons. Hope this helps. Good luck! Rob
Q: Is vermiculite bad if eaten by infants?
Potting soil has been sterilized. Those with vermiculite added will retain moisture and not compact.
Q: So I am going to have a styrofoam cooler thing then I will have a under tank heater at the bottom. I'm going to put the leopard gecko eggs in a plastic tupperware filled with perlite or vermiculite (I don't know which one is better) on top of the heatmat. It won't melt right?? maybe I will put a towel between the under tank heat and the tupperware so it doesn't get too hot? I also will have a thermostat and a thermometer on top of the closed tupperware. Do I need to poke holes in the tupperware so when the eggs hatch the leo's can breath when they hatch? Does that sound good? Did I miss anything?? Thanks for any help!
ok so we've been given a bearded dragon and she or he has eggs like countless 20 weeks and she or he hasnt mated so as that they are in basic terms the outdoors of the egg like they dont have an genuinely infant interior.. she would be ready to proceed to place those eggs till she has a mate hence she would be ready to then have actuall eggs :)
Q: Can ordinary small stones instead of vermiculite be used as Camellia cuttings?
For horticulture, vermiculite should be made of coarser flakes of vermiculite, even if the medium of fine seeds is used and the covering for the seeding is as thick as that of vermiculite. Q: I have a tomato plant that is flourishing...perhaps too well...my questions is ..can I create new plant from trimmings from my original one?I am in Southern Cal
Any garden centre or nursery will stock these.
Q: I am looking for an easy Hypertufa recipe to make bird baths and such.
After our cat developed gingivitis, we began to use a dental kibble which has done wonders for her oral health. Our vet agrees. Because she also has a kidney issue, we mix it half and half with a low ash kibble.
Q: I have lost soOOOO many litters to molding even when i try so hard to ventilate it. Are chicken egg incubators good?
If you're having trouble with mold, try different incubating medias. Vermiculite, perlite, and spaghum moss all work well -- perhaps you could split the clutch carefully into several groups (if the eggs aren't stuck together) and try the different methods. Too much ventilation likely introduces mold spores. Start with sterile media in the first place and don't keep it too wet -- just slightly damp is best. Make sure your temps aren't too high -- if the temperature climbs over 90F for very long, your eggs will die and then they'll get moldy and rot. Can you describe your setup more fully? Maybe someone will be able to spot what you've been doing wrong. Good luck!
Q: I put a bunch of vermiculite (that is probably spelled wrong.) in a pot and then watered it down until the water was as deep as the vermiculite, then dipped the stems of the clippings in some root growth powder and stuck the stems in the vermiculite, I don‘t think the leaves were touching the wet vermiculite, but after a little over a weak the clippings were basicly reduced to slime. what went wrong?? was there to much water for them??? Was the vermiculite to much for the leaves?? I know that their leaves are very sensitive to water on them, but I am pretty sure they weren‘t touching the vermiculite/water mix. :S
I'm not sure what went wrong here, but obviously you should start over. Slime indicates rotting from too much water. I always root my African Violet cuttings in African Violet soil. You can get it at Canadian Tire or Walmart. Sometimes I use rooting hormones and other times I have not. It doesn't seem to make much difference. It takes anywhere from 2 to 4 months to propagate them this way. I keep them in a window under a plastic cover until I see new growth. Just take the cover off once a day for an hour and then replace it to keep in heat and moisture.
Q: What kind of soil should be used in planting stem cutting plants?
It somewhat depends on the variety of plant that you want to root cuttings from - some plants will root in water, though this will just cause rot in most. Generally, I keep some gritty sand, vermiculite and perlite, which I mix with good sterilised soil or potting compost - the ratio of the mix I vary, according to the plant. These ingredients increase the amount of air that's in the growing medium, as well as assist with drainage. Edit your question of you've got some specific plants that you want to propagate, and we can answer you more specifically. Don't use builders sand, but get all of these products from a garden nursery or products supplier. The reason for using sterilised products is to ensure that you don't introduce the chance for infections to set in - new cuttings go through a stress period, after being cut from the parent plant, and are somewhat more susceptible to infections. Some plants are tough as old boots, and it hardly matters, but I always like to improve my success rates, and prevent waste. Hope this helps. Good luck! Rob
