 Exfoliated expanded vermiculite introduction :

Vermiculite is a layer-structured metamorphic rock of gibbsite silicate. Rich in magnesium, it comes from hot-liquid-eroded or weathered phlogopite. When it is heated to lose water and expands, lt turns curvingas a leech. Therefore is called vermiculite.lt can be divide into original vermiculite and expanded vermiculite. color it can also be divided into golden vermiculite and white vermiculite.

Exfoliated expanded vermiculite physical and chemical quota :

Being differently hydrated and oxidation, the same vermiculite may have different chemical compositions .Generally, its chemical compositions are as follows:

Vermiculite Chemical quota: Mg x (H2O)(Mg3-x)(ALSiO3O10)(OH2)

Exfoliated expanded Vermiculite Main Use and Functions:

Jinli Minerals is the first in North China to set up an advanced digital thermostat to cool, select, winnow and grade its products .Jinli has produced and developed many products ,which have such advantages as lighter, easy to reduce high-temperature recession heat and cold and corrosion resistant, better ventilation and water preservation , poisonousless and odorless, low hardness, burning-avoidance.

It has already been used in many fields like construction materials ,heat-resistant materials ,sheet materials costing painting painting rubber, agriculture, forestry, nursery gardening ,forage, cultivation ,pharmacy, fricition and sealing, metallurgy, etc.

Q: My leo laid eggs in the water dish. 3 days later i read that it would kill them and filled the dish with vermiculite. did the eggs die before i filled it with vermiculite, or do they still have a chance?
You need a incubator or they won't stand a chance.
Q: Would a mix of 50% clean no pesticide soil, and organic compost from the bottom of my compost work good for the crickets to lay eggs in?
That sounds about right A shallow dish of slighlty moistened sand, vermiculite, or even cotton balls work equally well. The material needs to be oh so slighlty moistened throughout the laying, incubating, and hatching process. Eggs will hatch on 8-20 days depending on the crickets species and the incubation temps. Make sure the temp is between 76-86 F Nutritious food should be readily available for the baby crickets.
Q: what does vermiculite do with peat moss? is it better than coco peat? and what is peat moss? thanks for answering thoroughly
Go for Peat, or Vermiculite instead. Many of the professional keepers swear by Peat as a substrate, however although peat hold moisture quite well, the following are common problems: Mould, mites, fungus and other unwanted growths. To counter this the substrate should be microwaved (only when it's dry, otherwise their is a possible fire risk!) This will kill any mould or fungus spores, and anything else, such as mites. Vermiculite doesn't tend to encourage mould, fungus or mites. Though some tarantulas, especially arboreal species don't like it as it tends to stick to their feet. You can wet the coconut fibre a little more to encourage burrowing. I use a product called Bed-A-Beast. This product comes in a 4 X 8 X 2 block and when placed in water it yields about 8 litres of bedding. One block fills my five - 10x24 tanks and a dozen small containers for spiderlings.
Q: i want to breed bearded dragons but they say to use vermiculite to put the eggs in but idk wat it is also is there anything else i can use to put the eggs in besides that???
well i wont be able to tell you what kind of snake it is cause idk where you located and it is hard to tell without seeing the animal so maybe some pics ? if those snakes are native to your area relsese them back into the wild if they are not native then call animal control or give them to someone who knows about snakes to care for them... the eggs just leave them their if you don't what your doing then you may just end up hurting them anyways plus if they are native to your area your house have the same temps as outside then the eggs should do fine just reslese tall 3 snakes and if you get babies same into the wild.
Q: Im going to have a Tarantula in a few days and need to have vermiculite before it gets here. Cant wait on shipping. What kind of store sells this. Petco? or something like a plant shop?
Hatchrite is perlite. And perlite and vermiculite are only dangerous if eaten, which a hatchling snake won't do since they don't take their first meal until after their first shed.
Q: What is the best soil to use for indoor herb plants?
I like to use a potting soil lightened with some perlite and vermiculite. These will add moisture retention to the soil and make it less weighty on the tender roots. Remember that some plants like basil and rosemary must really be grown outdoors. Choose wisely when you buy your seeds and if some of them do not fare too well, do not become disheartened. Try another variety or another herb. Good Growing!! The Muse
Q: I need help on making a home made incubator with 10 gallon tank, heat mat, perlite, vermiculite or eco earth just something like this but ide like to use eco earth please HELP!!!!!
yes take him to the ER
Q: Hey, I was wondering. Are Sugar Maple Trees cold hardy? Meaning if you collect seeds in late summer or early fall and stratify them for 3 months. Will they grow while it‘s still winter out? I know normally the go dormant during winter but I‘m talking about growing from seed.I have some seeds stratifying in the refrigerator now and they‘ll probably be ready about Nov 1. I collected them last week and the seeds were a yellowish green and the wings were brown. I soaked them for 24 hours and stuck the in a bag with a mixture of Vermiculite and Peat. So, will the seeds grow during winter if kept in a greenhouse? I live in zone 5 and it sometimes gets down to the single digits or zero during a normal winter. Please let me know. Please don‘t answer with poetry. Thanks.
Maple seeds in the wild in places like Vermont have to survive temperatures like this so I would expect yours to also.
Q: how to breed leopard geckos?
Just put a female and a male together. They both have to be over the age of 1 (12 months) and around the same size.
Q: What can vermiculite be used instead of?
Its crystalline structure is monoclinic, and it looks like mica from its appearance. Vermiculite is produced by hydration of certain granite. It is commonly produced with asbestos. Because vermiculite has the ability of ion exchange, it has a great effect on the nutrition of the soil. In 2000, the total output of vermiculite in the world exceeded 500 thousand tons. The major producers are China, South Africa, Australia, Zimbabwe and the United states.
