Exfoliated expanded vermiculite introduction :
Vermiculite is a layer-structured metamorphic rock of gibbsite silicate. Rich in magnesium, it comes from hot-liquid-eroded or weathered phlogopite. When it is heated to lose water and expands, lt turns curvingas a leech. Therefore is called vermiculite.lt can be divide into original vermiculite and expanded vermiculite. color it can also be divided into golden vermiculite and white vermiculite.
Exfoliated expanded vermiculite physical and chemical quota :
Being differently hydrated and oxidation, the same vermiculite may have different chemical compositions .Generally, its chemical compositions are as follows:

- Q: thanks
- Cocoa fiber, perlite, vermiculite and organic potting soil all make good laybox substrates. Check them at least once daily when you notice the females digging around in there.
- Q: So I am going to attempt to cultivate mushrooms... I was wondering if I could buy perlite and vermiculite at Wal-Mart?Also, are small mason jars hard to come by?
- I used vermiculite. There is a good article on this on okorder
- Q: contractors creating custom faux stone walls?
- Try hyperturfa (there are several sites with different formulas). Essentially, hyperturfa is a mixture of Portland cement, sifted peat, and one or two other substances from sand to the more lightweight perlite and/or vermiculite (the stuff horticulturists use in their potting soil), and/or silica (which helps give a finer texture). It is lightweight, depending upon your formula. You can purchase molds (moulds), or, make your own. I'm cheap :D, so I make molds out of old milk jugs that I have reshaped through heating in the oven or over a fire (I place them over a stone and they melt to the shape), or I make stone-shaped hollows in dirt or sand, and line (or not line, depending on my project) with plastic. When stiff but still workable, I make my finishing touches (smoothing out lines, adding texture, etc.) Individual stones can be affixed using more hyperturfa or regular cement/mortar. Standard concrete colorants and acid stains work, but I prefer natural colorants -- I use rusty water, coffee, tea, vinegar that has had steel wool fermenting for a few days, berry juices, etc. If using as a stucco or intend to create brick lines, or stone work it is advisable to use some sort of backing (chicken wire, etc.) as you would stucco or straight cement/mortar. (Although, I did apply a sand-based hyperturfa directly over unpainted, untreated raw concrete foundation blocks with no problem.) If this is not exactly what you are looking for.and if you do find what you are looking for.I'd certainly appreciate a heads up.
- Q: used in horticulture
- Perlite and vermiculite help with drainage. Sand as well. Try mixing those into your potting soil when you re-pot.
- Q: i have 8 dry quarts of organic potting mix, organic bone meal, organic blood meal, vermiculite, and perlite. what amounts of each do i need? the bone meal is 6-9-0, the blood meal is 12-0-0 and the potting mix is 0.10-0.05-0.05. i want to make a water only mix with a ratio of 15-30-30. also how do i add potassium to it and what besides kelp meal can i use to add trace elements? thanks alot. this is a best answer award question
- You need to add some sand. Peat, Humus, top soil, etc will only create a very moist environment and will hold moisture. Perlite and Vermiculite are used to encourage good drainage and to keep the soil from compacting, which plant roots definitely don't like. I have not grown Lucky Bamboo, but do you know what kind of conditions it wants it's roots to be in?
- Q: I need to know where to buy vermiculite and perlite for horticultural use in New Delhi?
- definitely brown rice flour and vermiculite for making the cakes. If you see mold at any time, the batch has been contaminated. It is very important to throw them away immediately. If for any reason you decide to blend them for making tea, be extra careful, the shroom powder is extremely deadly if inhaled. If you don't feel 100% about growing shrooms do not. It is a very complicated yet rewarding process.
- Q: is my bearded dragons egg gunna hatch soon ?
- It looks dehydrated. I hope you are not keeping it on sand and have used vermiculite to keep it moist and have a heat source to keep it warm. you'd need a higher humidity than used for keeping dragons to hatch their eggs. that's why they are buried underground. Dragon eggs don't take long to hatch. What is important is getting it in a proper incubator or rigging your own. Without know when they were laid, how they have been kept I cannot give you a time frame in which they are going to hatch because it varies based upon the temp and humidity. Also I hope you were careful not to rotate the egg any which direction when you went to candle it. If the dragon eggs stay alive and you can see a developing dragon however, i can say about 2 weeks.
- Q: you put 25 grams of iron powder and 1 gram of salt in a resaelable plestic bag, and add 30 grams of vermiculite to the bag, seal the bag, shake it to mix the contents, then add 5 Ml of water to it and mix the contents again. what happens?????
- nothing, the salt water will NOT react with iron, however the rion will just replace a few of the ions of the mineral and still probally nothing will happen
- Q: They are in an outdoor pen and she has layed them also covering them with about half in of soil. Last time the eggs were eaten by possums but the possums can no longer get in the pen.
- Very carefully remove the eggs. Pick them up the exact same way it was laid. Rotating the eggs can kill the developing turtle. Place the eggs into small containers halfway full with damp vermiculite. The containers with the eggs should then be placed in an incubator. The best way to provide a safe incubator container is to take a plastic aquarium and place two bricks on their side at the bottom. Place the plastic container that contains the eggs on top of the two bricks and heat the water 82oF (28oC) with an aquarium heater. Cover the aquarium with pane of glass to ensure the heat and condensation stays with the incubator. It is essential to make sure the glass is slanted so that any condensation does not drip onto the turtle eggs as this can kill the embryos. The ideal humidity level for turtle eggs is between 95-100%. You can measure the level of humidity with a hygrometer hung on the aquarium wall. To tell when the egg is fertilized, hold the egg between your thumb and forefinger in front of a bright light. If the egg is fertilized, you will be able to see dark blood vessels inside even at an early stage. As time goes by, the blood vessels will turn into a dark area as the turtle develops. Unfertilized eggs show a light area around the air pocket inside the egg and a dark area at the drying yolk. An unfertilized egg will also begin to lose weight over time whereas fertilized eggs gain weight. If a turtle embryo dries in the egg, do not assume it is a mistake you made. The likely cause is because of the parent's diet. The amount of time it takes for a turtle to hatch depends on the species. Once it begins to hatch, it can take one to three days for the turtle to fully hatch. You should never disturb the turtle and never try to speed up the hatching process. Leave the hatchlings in the incubator for a few days until the yolk on the naval has fully shrivelled and fallen off. Good luck :)
- Q: any info welcum and tips
- u need a 10 gal 4 1 or a 20 4 2. u need substrate(use repticarpet),a under tank heater, infrared heat lamp, thermometer, hygrometer,3 hides one on the cool side 1 on the warm side and another on the warm side, but on the 3rd one, put a paper towel under it and spray it every other day. u also need a water dish(cool side) and some thing 4 them 2 climb on. if they r babies then feed them once every day, 3 crickets. u also need a calcium bowl. if its an adult then u feed it 6 crickets every other day. u can hold them but not 4 too long, because it stresses them out a little. i think thats all, if i 4got anything, ill edit this. but 4 now good luck and i hope i helped.
