- Q: What is the best brand of domestic tiles?
- What is the best brand of domestic tiles? Dongpeng tiles good! Here, we introduce you to the decoration industry within a black technology, Naluotu diamond grinding stone. Now the decoration can be no ceramic tiles, and can be used cement diamond grinding stone and cast stone grinding stone instead of tiles, cement diamond grinding stone and the whole stone grinding stone seamless, on-site pouring, seamless no bacteria breeding, diamond grinding stone But also can release negative oxygen ions, people relaxed and happy. Seamless cement grindstone and sandstone are made of three materials: Nalut special cement mortar, armor concrete seal curing agent and defender concrete seal curing agent.
- Q: I recently got some ceramic tile for free that the construction company was just going to throw away. How do I tell if they are wall or floor tile? I think it has something to do with the way the back of the tile looks, but I'm not sure.
- In the Tile World today people use floor tile as wall tile at times depending on the design of the room. However a Wall Tile is thin in size however it can be thick depending on the type of material it is such as stone, marble, ceramic, etc it comes in all shapes and sizes and generally ranges from 4x4's on up, Floor Tile is always a Thicker more heavier Tile and depending on the design or style it can be 6x6 on up If your not quite sure of the material you have you can take a piece of it to your local home depot or tile shop and ask them. They would be more than happy to answer any and all of your questions
- Q: My grandpa‘s bathroom needs to have a few adjustments made to it, namely safety bars put in place around the tub to help him in and out. The problem: every wall is covered in glazed tile (which I know makes a difference) and the bars need to be screwed in.My question is this: how? I know that using just a drill bit will shatter the tile, even a carbide one because the tile‘s glazed. Thanks much, kisses and ten points to the best answer.
- get a drill bit for ceramic tile and buy the proper anchors' prefit your safety bars so that when you drill your not on the edge of any tiles. drill at a low speed and try to spray water while you drill to keep the bit cool. as you are going through the tile, ease up on the pressure a bit and you should have no trouble.
- Q: how do i do the measuring and lay out on a 10 foot by 6 foot floor when laying the tiles diagonally?
- A 10x6 room requires 60 square feet of tile to cover the floor. On a normal square to the walls pattern, I would order 10% more tile to cover waste. On a diagonal pattern, you will have more waste. I would order 15% to 20% more tile to cover waste. To set up to lay the tile, I start by picking the most obvious sight line in the room - maybe from the next room through the door and chalk a line perpendicular to the far wall along that sight line and parallel to the side wall. Then you chalk a line 45 degrees wall to wall through the center point of the center of the first line. This is your 45 degree pattern. Chalking a line wall to wall 90 degrees from the second chalk line through that same center point gives you your grid pattern to set your tile from. Ignore the first line - that was for reference only - line two and three are the lines you set your tile from. Set out tile dry with spacers to see if you like the effect. I will sometimes set out all of the whole tile possible in the room and walk around to see if it looks good. If it doesn't look right or you end up with too small pieces along the edges or in the doorways, you can move your initial start point and rechalk your lines.
- Q: How to fix the surface of the tile? How much is the thickness of the tile?
- Tile thickness plus mortar thickness of two centimeters.
- Q: Dont judge me, but can i install tile and drywall in a camper, without cracking, chipping, etc.
- t1-11 but wanted drywall throughout the interior
- Q: My wall tiles has been for more than 20yrs owned by first owner. Due to limited budget,i have not replaced them when i bought over as 2nd owner, but have done a coat of spray paint on it thru contractor, Now after 5 yrs, some of these spray paint are coming off, any suggestion what i can do , i do not want to hack the wall and replace new wall tiles very costly, someone suggest buying bathroom tiles stickers on those tiles with paint coming off.. anyone with better suggestion on DIY ..plse help---
- With all due respect, and after having installed multiple thousands of sq. ft. of tile, and applied thousands of gallons of paint, NEVER TO TILE. It's essentially glass. I see dozens of Q's asking, and as many answers stating it can be done. When I'm asked Can I? my response is usually Certainly I add, that one might not be satisfied with the result. In your case your options are few, now that the tile is already painted. Obviously touch up can be the first more economical of any choice. I wouldn't take a contract to paint tile, nor would I to install any peel and stick type of plastic. You could do a tub/shower enclosure over. You could use melamime or plastic sheet stock to cover. Without knowing your commitment to the house, or how long you intend to be there. With no offense in 5 years of ownership perhaps replacing might have been saved for. Just one opinion, but at some point, if the house was mine, and I intended to remain, I'd be pulling the old tile, adding concrete backer board, and re-do the bathroom. Steven Wolf
- Q: I am currently removing old cork tiles from the floor of my house. They are stuck down to the cement and as I‘m chiselling them up I‘m being left with a lot of glue residue with fragments of the cork too. Any tips on easy removal of the old tiles, but more importantly removing the glue? We are replacing them with new ceramic floor tiles. I was thinking maybe a heat gun and a scraper to clean it up but Dad has suggested a grinder! Any experiences with fast and easy removal of residue? I‘ve still got a room of cork to remove so if there‘s a better way than hammer and chisel I‘d love to hear about it!
- well i know this was very stupid of me but it worked i took pait revomer and just poored it all over the place and it sunk into the cork and then it was much easier to get get up with a chisell it worked! i was so fuserated that i was up to trying ANYTHING. or do it the right way...... Most cork tiled surfaces are used for flooring. Cover furniture and fittings before starting. Look for a loose tile, or a tile in a central position. Lever the tile carefully using a scraper. This should now give access to the surface under the tiling. Gently push the scraper under each tile and remove one by one. The tiles will probably break as they are removed, but it is still advisable to work on the removal of individual tiles across the room. Once removed, the surface will still be covered with the cork tile adhesive. This is more difficult to remove. It is advisable to use a hot air stripper and scraper to remove the adhesive.
- Q: How are these tiles differ from each other and how to identify these?
- Installing tile over concrete is the best way to install floor just make sure all the cracks are filled in with a ardex filler or even mortar smoothed out. As far as the old tile glue on just try to scrap it clean as best as possible and go from there. Also make sure u sweep and clean the area good free of dirt as best as possible.
- Q: Dont worry about looks with the dollar tile just want to know pricing pretty much on the tile and how expensive it is.
- If you are doing the tile work yourself, it will be cheaper than having one of those fiberglass shower enclosures put in. You are looking at the cost of tile (at $1/sqft.), grout ($10 or less), permabase/durock ($9 per 3x5 sheet), mastic ($30 for high quality), and caulk ($4), to get the job done. On an average size shower, this will bring your total material bill in at right around $200. This is based on entirely ripping out your old shower walls (back to the studs), and building an entirely new shower. A complete rennovation for $200. This is what I do for a living, and I can honestly tell you that you will save tons if you are handy enough to do this yourself. One side note on the pre-fab showers (fiberglass, urethane, etc) - we get a lot of calls to come out and remove mold from these types of enclosures. On most that I've seen there are a lot of corners and small nooks that moisture gathers up and sits in. Just something to watch out for should you go that method. Good luck to you, either way.
