- Just the grout as long as you have a glazed ceramic tile. Use after the grout has set for a few days. 3 days for a penetrating sealer ( recommended) or 30 days for a silicone sealer. All tile grout haze must be off the tiles prior to sealing. I use a hand pump spray bottle and just concentrate on the grout lines. Let soak for approx 10 minutes and buff dry tile with a clean light colored towel.. Don t let the sealer dry on the tiles.Then seal a 2nd time. Penetrating sealers will last for a long time, silicone sealers need to be redone every 6 months to a year depending on the amount of foot traffic and floor cleaning you give it. There may be some new-fangled surface prep material you could get for painted drywall -- ask the dudes at Home Depot, Ace, Tru Value, or Lowes (or other hardware / home-improvement store) to see if there is some material you spread on the painted drywall to make the mastick stick better. .

- I have tiled porcelain over ceramic with long term results. make certain the surface is clean and free of any foreign matter, also use the best modified thin set available and u can also add a latex additive for added strength to the thin set.

- Porcelain is much better quality. The design goes through and though, not just a glaze on top like ceramic. I love tile, but granite is beautiful. I have formica and I like it but don't love it.
- Q: I just finished my bathroom but when i used the oil based kilz there was a little spray back that landed on the tile floor.
- Depending on the type of tile you might be able to use a sharp knife (exacto or paring knife) and gently remove the spots. If you have any kind of ceramic tile that would work (in my experience) except perhaps on the grouted areas. If you have grout and the Kilz is in/on the grout you might have to actually scrape some of the grout off and then reseal the grout. Good luck. It's laborious work but it should work. If you have linoleum tile I wouldn't do that because it might remove the finish. The next time you go to the paint dept. at the store ask them how to do it if you haven't solved the problem
