Q: it is literally burning hot have no idaea wat the problem is plzz help:). porcelain tile btw
you proll have in floor heating. its pipes running throo your floor with hot water.
Q: I have three ceramic tiles that need a special curved cut. I‘m just looking for some place where I can take the tiles in and they cut them for me onsite and I walk out with my cut tiles. Home Depot doesn‘t offer this service. Who does? I live in Atlanta.
your going to have to go to a real tile store for cutting holes and delicate curves and such. They wont charge you much. Be aware, a tile could still break even when being cut correctly. Most contractors wont be able to do this either. A so so curve can be cut on a wet tile saw. But, are you going to drive around building sites until you find a contractor with his tile saw set up ? :) Just find a real tile store, they will gladly do it. John
Q: How to calculate the area of the toilet and kitchen tiles
Such as the kitchen is 3 meters wide and 2.5 meters high. The area of the wall should be the circumference of the kitchen by height (2.5 + 2.5 + 3 + 3) * 3. = 33 and then remove the door and the window area is about 31 or so. Mainly look at your window size. The door area is basically a multi-square. Finally, the wall about 22 square feet up and down. The floor area is 7.5 square feet. Then use the wall area in addition to the area of the brick you choose. Such as: brick is 300 * 450 = 0.135. The ground is also true. The bathroom is so calculated.
Q: I want to install Travertine tile to a fireplace surround. This would be travertine tile directly to sheetrock, painted with flat latex paint. Q: I am planning on laying down tile in my dining room and kitchen. I recently saw an offset pattern with 12x12 tiles and liked it. I‘ve now decided to go with the same offset pattern but with 20x20 ceramic tiles. Would I still have to find the center of the room and start tiling out from the center or can I just start at one wall and go from there since i‘ll be using the offset pattern? Thanks in advance.
Regardless of the pattern layout, starting at the centre will leave an even margin of cuts around the edges. It also allows for the walls being not perfectly straight, or the the corners not being perfectly square. However,it is a good idea to lay a row of dry ties to make sure any cuts along the walls will not be too narrow.
Q: I have calculated that I need 388 tiles, each 9 inches big, how many come in one box?, I need to know how many boxes to order
The contents of the boxes vary between manufactures. You need to work out how many square feet or square metres of tiles you need and add a bit on for wastage then check the boxes as they normally state how much coverage on box will give. P.S. don't forget the adhesive.
Q: How to choose bathroom tiles
Gossip less, the following Xiaobian to introduce themselves to sum up and discuss the choice of bathroom tiles of the tips. Tricks 1 shop around The old saying is good, shop around. Now the shops on the market to sell the tiles, are basically the same, this store tiles in another store can also find the same paragraph, but the price of different stores may be different. So more than a few stores can be more fully understand the price of a brand of a certain style of tiles to facilitate the selection of the same quality under the lowest price. Tip 2 permeable or impervious to water In general, impervious tiles are better. Because the bathroom is generally relatively humid air, so when buying tiles should pay attention to the moisture resistance of tiles, the choice of relatively low water absorption tiles, which in order to ensure that the tiles after the thermal expansion and contraction of the surface will not appear cracking or shedding phenomenon. In addition, the tiles on the surface of the glaze to be thicker, so that is not easy to deface, and small holes on the brick is not easy to absorb water.
Q: we‘ve moved into a 1930s flat with those old bakelite tiles, i think they‘re caller marley tiles. does anyone know a good way to get paint off them, and how to get them looking shiney and new again.cheers!
The one thing you do not want to do is use any harsh or abrasive cleanser on them. If they are real bakelite then they can lose their gloss and can be ruined. First try a bit of liquid laundry soap and warm water on a terry washcloth or small towel and dab or blot it on the spots. As the warm water and soap sit on the paint it will soften enough to scrape off with your fingernail or a popsicle stick. Always try any cleaning on a tile that is not seen readily, like under the sink if available, to insure that the finish does not get damaged. I have never known tiles to be made of bakelite but plastic was used extensively up to the 1970's and it can be cleaned with mineral spirits if necessary. If the soap and water do not work try mineral spirits, (also known as paint thinner and/or turpentine) on a small area of the tiles. You can try the fingernail scraping method first and some of the paint may come off straight away if it is latex and not too thick. If you get all the paint off you can shine them with carnuba wax, but try the wax on a hidden tile to make sure it does not have a reaction with bakelite. Best of luck.
Q: I just finished grouting my tile yesterday I want to remove the haze with vinager should I let the grout cure for three days, then seal it and then scrub the whole floor including going over the grout lines (which would be then sealed) scrubbing with a sponge and avoiding the non cured grout is working but is taking far too long
Remove standard grout haze, any time now with a dry rag. I prefer an old towel or hand towel. More stubborn haze or a rougher textured tile I prefer a white nylon pad. Sold most any where tile and tile supplies are sold. Buff using the nylon pad. Do this also dry. By doing it wet with water or a vinegar/water solution you reintroduce grout onto the tile by using the dirty water. You ll have to do it more to get the haze off. Don t seal grout until all haze is removed or the sealer will be sucked into the haze and that gets sealed onto the tile. use a penetrating sealer 3 days after tile was grouted. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there. GL
