Q:i shop at lilian vernon and fingerhut....but are there any other catalogs that offer that type of stuff for your home, car and garden?
What okorder . Good luck.
Q:I used to have the cookbook, but it got old and was falling apartf (from use), so I bought a new one and threw out the old one (stupid!). It had the best pumpkin pie recipe in it. Does anyone have it?
If you google Better Homes and Gardens Classic Pumpkin Pie recipe, you'll find what you are looking for. I googled several versions of this and saw the same recipe each time. It looks simple, easy to make, and yummy!
Q:Terrace garden decoration, how economical and practical?
In addition to the rest of the rest of the field, we should maximize the use of space, the rational arrangement of green plants,
Q:about two months ago we started to plant our flowers in our garden.then one week later we notice we had alot of dead flowers.then that same day we had some guest over and they all said it was squirrels.so if you have a way of keeping sqirrels out of your garden please tell me!!!!
I have a couple of squirrels who visit my fire escape in the city and chow down on my potted plants, stripping them totally of leaves. First attempt: cayenne spray (powder + water) -- seemed to be like salad dressing to them. No good. 2nd attempt: garlic chopped up and place on the soil. More salad dressing. 3rd attempt: mothballs. They stink and it's horrible with my window open. But it does work around the leaves close to the ground. HOWEVER the morning glory vines climb the trellis and those upper stems have become a frickin' salad bar!! And I have since read online that mothballs can leach into the soil and aren't good for the plants either. Currently I have resorted to a large clear plastic bag over the trellis and that is keeping them away as I search for a solution. 100% Essential Peppermint Oil has been recommended and that will be my next try.
Q:Have a new house with many plantings front and back yard. Communication with previous owner has been difficult. I would love to find a volunteer who would walk through the garden areas with me to name and label the various species there. I want to weed, but love wildflowers and such, and don't want to take out something of interest. I know I can go to my local university with plant leaves for help with identification, but with so many, it would be a long and tedious process.By the way, my geographic location is northeastern Connecticut. thank you.
A Master Gardener would probably be able to identify most of your plants. Connecticut has a Master Gardener program and the is probably a local Horticultural Society.
Q:1. After we have plucked the last of our tomatoes off the plant, should we bring it inside for the winter or does it die after one season? they are those little grape tomatoes if it makes a difference)2. Every apartment in our complex has a little space for a garden right outside. We didn't get around to planting anything in ours this year, but next year we want to. Should we pull out the weeds and wildflowers and mulch before winter or in the spring?3. I have a leather purse, and I need to take it on a week long trip we're leaving for this weekend (it's the biggest purse I have), some of the stitching is coming out on one of the handles, and the only leather repair shop in town can't repair it for 2 weeks. Is it ok for me to use a heavy needle and threat to temporarily stitch it, if I use the same holes where the old stitching was? All the stitching on that handle will come out anyways when I get it professionally repaired....
1 you can try is the plant is in a pot-- it has flowers. tomatoes are annuals= live 1 season die. #2 go out before the ground freezes, pull weeds, flowers ,etc. either till the soil w/ a mechanical roto-tiller or double-dig w/ a spading fork shovel-- to 'double-dig' is to dig down 1 spade depth, turn the earth so that the former top is rotated 90 degrees --do this for the entire bed. leave it exposed for the winter---then in late winter/early spring work over the bed again adding compost, maures, etc. (double-digging is hard work--so if you have a weak back-or medical issues either hire a teenager to do it or use the roto-tiller which can be rented by the hour in many larger cities) #3 try using waxed thread and an awl -which is a heavy needled hand tool made for this work.
Q:How or where do I get these coupons? I'm gonna spend about 3000 on floor tiles and I'm gonna need it. I know that ebay has them, but where else could I find them?
Sign okorder . It will take a couple of weeks to get your 10% coupon though.
Q:What do you grow?
My whole house is a garden room. Cyperus papyrus, cyperus altifolia, cyperus haspan, 6 types of ferns, apostle plants, 2 varieties of pothos, grape leaf ivy, geranium, 4 types impatiens, emerald plants, alocasia, coleus, verbena, coral bells, now where is my dog? and lots of other plant babies. March will begin starting seeds indoors -- plantaholic.
Q:After reading Scocasso !'s comment, I'm really inspired to get a edible garden on my own. My parents used to have a small edible homegrown garden when we were growing up and I remember it was really enjoyable to grow you own food.So does anyone know any good online or catalogue source where I can buy seeds for vegetable and fruits? Or perhaps any tip on finding a local garden supplier? Thanks a lot.
2007 okorder It's a real good source of where to buy your seeds along with how when to plant. We love our homegrown garden. Hope you have the best garden ever, Secily
