Q: which upright is best out of the department store brands? (Oreck, bissell, dyson, eureka, etc?) Recommendations should be for less than $500.
i like all the bissel brands i am a housekeeper so i use them daily
Q: Iam supposed to do costing for a modification that we are doing for a hand held vacuum cleaner, the modification is an retractable arm.I want to know how are hand held vacuum cleaners manufactured, (forging, extrusion, injection molding??) What would be the cost??Any help thanks
Look at the hand held vacuums they have in the store. If the housing is plastic, it is a 99.99% chance it is injection molded. If it is made of metal it could be extruded if it has a constant cross section along its length. Aluminum is a very common extrusion metal. I would doubt any high volume hand vac would have a forged housing, but I don't get out that much. Casting and machining is a possibility. As far as costs, it all depends on the life of the tool, and the number of cavities for a mold or a casting. If you mold/cast one part at a time it is much more expensive than two or four or eight. The more you mold at once, the bigger the molding/casting machine and the more expensive the mold/casting. So it depends on how many you want to make in a given amount of time, and how many through the life of the product. Finally, for your modification, do you have a design with drawings and a volume target? That is the first step to figuring out costs.
Q: i forced her before will she hate me forever and never take bath
sometimes running water and vacuum cleaners and heavy metal makes birds want to take a bath. my cockatiel will land on my shoulder when i wash dishes and by the time i'm done with the dishes she is all worked up croaking and fluffing out her feathers that when i give her a spray bath with warm water she opens her wings and turns around and fluffs out for me! but at any other time she would not like it. buy a bird-bath spray in a pet store. you don't need to keep using it, you just need a spray bottle that never had chemicals in it, you can re-fill it with water. put the bird in the cage and take out all the food to keep it from getting wet. The spray the bird, but try to make the water fall on top of the bird, so spray over the bird to give it a rain shower, don't spray AT the bird. i think this sort of spray-bath is least painful for the bird in that the bird won't hate you too much. give your bird a treat of millet afterward. some birds will bathe themselves if you just leave a dish of water out for 'em. try leaving one out for a month or 6 months and see if the bird uses it.
Q: has anyone ever bought a Dirt Devil Purpose for pets cyclonic upright vacuum? how did it work?? please help me. i'm about to go buy one from walmart but i need to know how well it works.
Consumer Reports Magazine has a long article, with product ratings, on vacuum cleaners in the current March 2008 issue, on page 36, that mentions Dirt Devil three times. There is another article on vacuum cleaners in the October 2007 issu
Q: A guy who had a heart attack said they gave him a pamphlet at the hospital that said to avoid cars and vacuum cleaners because they vibrate. He also said the latest research on fish oil shows it doesn't do anything for your health.
That's ridiculous.
Q: how is bagless an improvement over the old fashioned vacuum cleaners with bags? I hate having to deal with the filth that comes out of the bagless machines. What was wrong with the bags? Am I missing something here?
I bought a bagless, and loved it so much I bought one for my upstairs so I didn't have to carry it up and down, and bought one for my Mom. Did I mention I threw out a $400 machine that was older, but still worked well, to get the upstairs one? Mom had a even more expensive machine, and when it broke, I replaced it with a $50 Walmart special and it picked up stuff the expensive one never had. The bagless ones have ssssssssssooooooooooo much more suction. They get fuzz out of carpet that you never even saw. And when you need to dump, it is no big deal, just replace the paper filter every year or so, maybe longer. I get not liking the dust and stuff when you dump, but I did the 'tv style test' and ran my older bagged machine and then the cheap bagless over the same area. You would not believe how much it picked up the bagged one had missed. And it wasn't even a bagged one that didn't work well, it worked as good as ever, the bagless was just better.
Q: Opinions please on Bosch vacuums Iknow that they have really good appliances but I'm not sure about the vac. Any help would be great.
I recommend that you check the March 2006 issue of Consumer Reports. On page 30 is a full report with ratings on vacuum cleaners. They tested both uprights and canisters, and the Bosch Premium Prestige($800) came out number 2 in the canisters. The Sears Kenmore Progressive($500) came out number one, and had more features for less money. If you want to save even more money, check out the Sears Progressive with Direct Drive. It came it number one in the upright vacuums, and will save you even more money at $300. Good luck!
Q: Have the amount of murders by strangulation using a vacuum cleaner power cable decreased since the invention of cordless cleaners?
never crossed my mind
Q: Be serious or be funny----it is up tp you.
If you like vacuuming in the dark, i guess.
Q: I saw this movie once, it is from mid 80's or so and I think it's American - 3 or 4 married women, nearly broke by the end of each month, decide to steal the money from big glass ball, placed in the hall of shopping mall, using the vacuum cleaner. What's the name of the movie? I forgot who starred in it. Thanks.
