Q:OK, so we just moved in to this new apartment, and we used the tub to take baths, but the hot water runs out mid-way through the bath (and even in a shower!). Yesterday, I took a half-hot, half-cool shower (LOL) and afterwards (about 5 minutes later or so) the smoke detector above the door in the bedroom where the water heater is (in the closet) starts going off. I couldn't smell anything strange or smokey or anything that would set off the detector. I fanned it, and it shut off. I told our maintenance guy about it, and he came and turned up the temp on the water heater (he said it was down WAY low), and he chalked the smoke alarm off as a malfunctioning/old smoke detector.Do you think the water heater would've triggered the smoke detector, even though *I* couldn't smell anything? Or, do you think he's right, in that the detector was malfunctioning.None of the other detectors in the house went off (there's one in each bedroom). It's an electric water heater, not gas.
Carbon monoxide (CO) binds to hemoglobin (which carries oxygen in the blood) stronger than oxygen binds hemoglobin. In CO poisoning, the persons hemoglobin molecules bind CO and as a result, less hemoglobin is able to bind oxygen. Consequently, there is a massive decrease in oxygen availability and delivery to the tissues, including the brain. A person begins to feel nausea, confusion, sleepy, headaches and can eventually faint and go into a coma. If they are not given 100% oxygen via mask soon, they can die. CO poisoning often occurs from huge fires or from faulty heaters that do not fully combuste gas. CO poisoning is treated with 100% oxygen via face mask and in extreme cases, a hyperbaric O2 chamber. Both of these treatments will displace CO from hemoglobin, allowing hemoglobin to bind again to oxygen.
Q:im 16 and have gotten my first car. It a 1998 Isuzu amigo, stickshift. Im starting to get the hang of driving a stick, and when i do i can go almost anywere, i was wondering what things are handy to keep in your car?
Magnetism and heatfire when the wires are placed in certain waysgasp! Would never use one again.
Q:Looking for ideas for a formal outdoor fire pit and patio. Years ago my husband and I built a 25‘ x 25‘ stone patio with a sunken firepit in the middle (back yard). We loved that thing. We‘ve now been in our new house for 8 years, and I want to build another one, approximately the same size - only thing different, is that we want the ‘pit‘ to be above ground this time.Would like ideas on types of stone, layout, seating, landscaping around the area etc. You guys are great. Thanks.
I have two fire settings in my backyard, with a plan to add a brick BBQ one this summer. The one consists of a metal chiminea that I got for $50 from a lady that paid over $500 for it originally. We have that one on the top ridge. The other one is made of simple stones, recovered from the yard and creek and formed in a circle down near the creek. Our plan for the new one is a brick BBQ and fireplace like I had up north at my other home. Basically, it was a fireplace that had a chimney in the back of it and a fireplace in the front. To change it to a grill, all you had to do was lay a grill top over the fireplace portion. So my plan is to build one like that. We used that one so much, and I really miss it, it also extended the season for us, by allowing us to cuddle up to the fire and many a time I would grill, then turn it over to a fire by simply adding a log to the coals. It had a large surface on either side, so you could lay a tray of veggies or burgers/steaks or hot cocoa. It sat side ways in the corner of the cement patio. Hope this helps you!
Q:for example, if I had the IP address/default gateway/dns server number for another computer and I was to go in on control panel on here to assign a static IP, and I typed in the IP address/default gateway, e.t.c. for the other computer, would this mean I was connected/would be able to connect to the other computer? And what would happen after I assigned the settings, i.e. how would I know I was connected to the other computer? Keep in mind that I am just speaking hypotetically because I am not able to change the settings on this computer. But I would just like to know if it would work for future reference.
You can see the edge, but can never get to it. It's like walking on a treadmill. You can keep walking and walking but the edge never gets closer (in fact, it moves farther away.)
Q:i have a large thick block of clear and unscented wax.. is it possible to carve it into a mold for resin? (easy cast resin) i would be making small items with the molds. :) any advice?
It says: watch-this-space-I-just-set-fire-to-m a-new-messagesorry-about-that,chief
Q:Is there a sustainable resource that has similar characteristics to rubber? Does anyone know of any good articles on this subject?
I would donate some to the salvation army. They tend to do a lot of good for people that aren't as well off as others. There are also a lot of natural disaster organizations that help families displaced by floods, tsunamis, wild fires, tornadoes etc. Depending on your location try looking into natural disaster relief centers in your area and offer to give a couple to them. Best of luck and thank you for being so generous to the world.
Q:there‘s no heat, there are no blankets, no fire-place.it‘s winter.the place has not been used for habitation yet, it has nothing.the only thing I can still do is to have warm baths and to blow dry my skin afterwardsI don‘t have enough clothing to make layers,,,,,, What to do not to get sick.
Sue, You're able to reach the outside world with internet access. Why are you without clothing and the knowledge to keep from getting ill? Is this some college thing you are doing like survival or something?
Q:Who invented the fire hydrant?
It would be very very massive, like a large loaded mining dump truck heavy, in your little die. I would think it would be utterly black; the surface that light interacts with is the electron shell, and neutronium has had that crushed out of existence.
Q:Do I have any legal recourse? They did not even confront me with the mans statement but a guy I worked with told me about it and he said the boss told that is why I was fired. When I was fired I was told I turned around the profits of the terminal I was in. The person who made this statement was any because he did not want to do his work and he had to take orders from me. I told him to get to work. He called HR behind my back and made up a story that resulted in my dismissal. I am in an at will state. Which means you can be fired for any reason or non reason. I do not want my good name ruined because of a lie from a teenager who does not want to work. Can I sue for slander? The person? The company? Thanks for anything you can tell me.
Wowsomeone is mental. How is it the fire department's fault that they arrived at the wrong house? Do you have recordings from all the calls giving them your address? No, you do not. Your brother was traumatized because the fire fighters were unrolling the fire hose? Well, your brother needs to see a shrink if that traumatized him. How else do you expect them to put out the fire, piss on it? Why would your brother accuse anyone for stealing his wallet if he did not have proof? No, a ambulance is not called all the time. How did they know you ran out of the house holding your 5 year old son? How the hell do you trip on a 5 year old's rob? They cannot help it that you are clumsy. Why was everyone panicking and having panic attacks? You all must be screwed up! Again, how is it the fire fighters fault that everyone was having panic attacks? Oh, you expect the fire fighters to carry with them at all times blankets and shoes? LMAOnot going to happen. You have no case. One thing I would like to know is how did the house catch on fire? I bet you or a family member had something to do with it. If that's the case, then maybe the fire fighters should sue you and your family for putting them in danger and your neighbors? EDIT: Well, maybe the fire fighters and your neighbors should sue you since it was YOUR fault (electrical problem). Secondly, when did you become a Paramedic/EMT or fire fighter stating smoke inhalation? In order to get smoke inhalation, you need to be in the smoke for a period of time. Again, you have not stated what address was given to the fire department that arrived to the wrong house. Why did another fire department show up? The only time another department shows up is if the other fire department would request some help. Why was your brother traumatized? Let me see, when did you become a psychiatrist?
