Q: I am currently re-designing the kitchen counter, fire extinguisher and need to hear testimonials from victims of real house fires or have experienced using a fire extinguisher on a fire (preferably in the kitchen).Advantages and Disadvantages such as: ergonomics, easy access, extinguisher fluid type, safety, size, shape, hose, nozzle, refillable capability, and reliability, etc.
Your best bet is a dry chem extinguisher with a wide stub nose nozzle. I have seen many different types in kitchens and have used all that have been manufactured here in the states. Out of all extinguishers the best I have seen with an overall size, look, and performance standpoint is the Kidde 21008173 Kitchen Fire Extinguisher. It has a Discharge time of 8 - 10s, and a discharge range of 5'. If you look up kiddie fire supplies you will see that they have a high rating on all there fire equipment.
Q: 9-alarm fire meaning?
1. Fire Extinguishers are to be inspected yearly. 2. Do not block or prohibit access to fire extinguishers. 3. Emergency Exits will be clearly marked. 4. Smoking is permitted only in designated areas. 5. Sprinkler Systems will be tested yearly 6. Employees will be trained in the use of on site fire supression equipment. 7. Welding, Cutting or open flame operations will require a trained individual designated as Fire Watch. 8. Outside fire hydrants will be unobstructed and clearly marked. 9. Flammable liquids will be stored in approved containers and in designated cabinets. 10. Fire blankets will be stored in clearly marked and accessible lockers.
Q: is there any technique to going over a speed bump on a bike while keeping your balance?
HAHA! Yes, any kind of hating can cause headaches! Seriously though, it certainly could. Carbon monoxide is a real danger with old (and even some new) heating systems. You should have it checked over. Invest in carbon monoxide detectors (sold anywhere smoke alarms are sold)
Q: If a heating vent in a house was blocked by, say, a blanket over night, does it pose a risk for a fire?
definitely mine say not to put anything within a couple feet of them!
Q: for example, if I had the IP address/default gateway/dns server number for another computer and I was to go in on control panel on here to assign a static IP, and I typed in the IP address/default gateway, e.t.c. for the other computer, would this mean I was connected/would be able to connect to the other computer? And what would happen after I assigned the settings, i.e. how would I know I was connected to the other computer? Keep in mind that I am just speaking hypotetically because I am not able to change the settings on this computer. But I would just like to know if it would work for future reference.
Well no - not exactly. Michele's answer is rather close to the answer I try to give. Imagine that you could represent the universe as a large 'flat' sheet of rubber. (so a tremendous 3D volume becomes a large rubber 'sheet' or membrane) (You can then use this representation to sort-of look at the effects of large masses (where you get 'dips' in the sheet) Where does it 'dip'? Well - that's into an entirely different dimension - into the dimension of say gravity/time instead of space/time. In any case - this sheet is a 2-D representation of the universe sort-of. But to complete it - you *wrap the sides back around together - and either 'pinch off' the ends (creating a rubber 'balloon') or connect the ends (creating a rubber 'tire') (Lets use the 'balloon' analogy here ) *We* - here inside the universe are 'inside' the rubber membrane of the balloon - not 'inside' the place where air would go in a 'real' balloon - and not 'outside' the balloon's membrane. Where is the boundary to this 'balloon universe' ? The 'boundary' is off in a direction or dimension that we very literally cannot perceive. The 'balloon universe' can expand - - and inhabitants can *see* the expansion - - because they could very easily perceive that 'galaxies' at a different point on the balloon would be moving away from them - and the further away the galaxies were - the *faster* they would move away. But the balloon surface does not 'pop'. It just continues to expand. (If you like - you can imagine tiny dimples and spikes across the face of the balloon-surface - where planets/stars and black holes would be found)
Q: can the new england patriots win another superbowl this year?
You answered you're own question; orange is used for safety. Most hunters I know only wear a small amount of it so that the game doesn't see it. My other theory is that certain animals can't see color.
Q: if you read this, than you want to answer just curious and want different opinions
Get a lube job. My VW Golf (I love it) went thru a huge flooding of the road way and began to squeak water. Lube job. It went away.
Q: I have an HP Photosmart 2575 All-in-One printer.Everytime i print something i have to push the paper into the printer or it will not print. It wont advance the paper itself. I looked at it and everything seems to work. It just acts like the roller that advances the paper isnt applying enough pressure to advance the paper. Any ideas?.thank you
Sue, You're able to reach the outside world with internet access. Why are you without clothing and the knowledge to keep from getting ill? Is this some college thing you are doing like survival or something?
Q: thinking of going camping in my back yard basicly, i want to make a fire. probly not best idea but just for arguments sake if i wanted to make a small fire to roast marshmellos on but be sufficient enough to keep me decently warm but i dont want it to smoke alot or get really big so the neighbors dont thinks its a forest fire, help me out?
Funny how passionate the LOUD PIPE crowd is. I ride and I cage. I understand, in SOME situations a little noise, or extra light, can help in a traffic situation. This is why they invented horns and lights. Revving your engine will make noise but the majority of that noise is going the wrong direction to be any benefit to the driver in front of you. Instead this noise is going into the face of the driver next to you and just pissing them off- cage or no cage. If you agree that when you are on a bike, you are invisible to the cages then it is your responsibility to NOT be in a situation where a cage can hit you. If the cage tries to hit you, get out of the way or be prepared to hit the asphalt (by gearing up).
Q: my teacher told me to think of needs and wants and wanted us to get a few examples of physical/physiological needssafety needsbelonging needs esteem needs self-fulfillment needsphysical/physiological wantssafety wantsbelonging wantsesteem wantsself-fulfillment wantsall i got wasphysical/ physiological needs: water, food, shelter, clothingphysical/ physiological wants: mineral water, fast food, big home, name brand clothingsafety needs: job, house, insurancesome of mine are find of stupid but i shouldn't think of any.i can give u best answer for the person who gives me the most needs and wants
Well don't play with fire. But remember that a fire grows with more oxygen, so covering it is the best way to put it out. That's why fire blankets work. If you put a cup or glass or something over a lit candle, the flame will be starved of oxygen and go out.
