- Nobody starts any genre of music. Music changes with time. Look at rock n roll from the 60's, 70's, 80's, and so on. It gets a little heavier and heavier through each decade. Same with country, country now is just rock with a country edge to it (southern rock). Heavy metal is more of the screaming and faster beats like pantera, hell yeah, mudvayne and so on. Metal is semi heavy like metallica, theres alot of bands that would go in that category. Grunge and punk idk, its almost a mix of these.
